A great result. Well done Dessers, we went up a level when he came on and he created his chances himself.

1.) 18 Feb 2024 14:54:26
Certainly gets in the right positions, although I'd like him to be more clinical.

2.) 18 Feb 2024 15:24:01
Mark I’d like every player to be more clinical

Sterling header was up there with van vossen.

3.) 18 Feb 2024 15:25:15
The work rate and positions he gets himself in are superb, finishing lacking but hopefully he’ll pop up when we need him.

On the players out injured, what was the latest we’ve had or people heard?

Roofe and Dowell- no date I can see on potential return
Sima - at the time we were going to start seeing him early April?
Danilo - luckily if we see him again this season?

4.) 18 Feb 2024 15:32:23
And missed them all c'mon that's clutching at straws lol.

5.) 18 Feb 2024 16:40:16
Big dado it’s not clutching at straws nor is it out of the ordinary silva is not finding himself in these positions or making the runs of number 9.

Dessers isn’t good enough but he will score eventually which is better than not at all.

If we don’t win the league we all know why.

6.) 18 Feb 2024 16:58:11
Nothing like van vossen miss.

7.) 18 Feb 2024 17:19:00
To me, the biggest uplift came when Sterling came on.

8.) 18 Feb 2024 20:13:21
Baz an open goal from a few yards.

02 Feb 2024 08:29:16
I've not seen anything about Lowry going on loan for the second half of the season. Can this still happen? I'd prefer PC to have a good look at him in training and get him ready for the first team.

McMinn

1.) 02 Feb 2024 08:46:22
He's out for 8 weeks came back injured.

2.) 02 Feb 2024 08:48:19
Don't think Lowery will make it at Rangers . Appears to have very high opinion of himself which is fine, but there is a difference between confidence and arrogance Lowery Appears to fit into second category, has had chance to right this but has ignored advise, can't see PC putting up with his nonsense, so will be of in summer, not going to get in front of current midfielders,

The Super League.

I don't think this is going to happen given
the number of clubs from big leagues against it. If it did as described now, I don't think it would particularly help Rangers. The judgement might though ease the way for an Atlantic league or whatever we want to call it. The only way Rangers and other big clubs from small countries can compete is by forming their own league with promotion and relegation to domestic leagues. We would just need to go with the flow for any new European set up which would not interfere with our new league. So Saturdays against other clubs from Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Portugal. Could be 4 teams from each nation to begin with. Automatic promotion and relegation back to domestic leagues (which can deal with any number imbalances) . In that way we could get say 5 Scottish teams the next season at the expense of a Danish one or whatever. In my view it's the only way forward. Uefa European football is not our problem, it is the SPFL.

1.) 21 Dec 2023 19:58:02
I've always like the idea of us joining a collaborative league from lower ranked nations whilst having a colt / B team in the SPFL.

I don't think it would ever happen though, as I don't think the other clubs would be supportive.

2.) 21 dec 2023 20:17:49
i have said for many years rangers will be playing outwith the spl in my lifetime, be that british or european, it won't happen now in my time but i still believe it will happen, i have very little doubt of that, football needs to grow or the boredom will stifle and the generations to follow will slowly dwindle, having a league where only two clubs can win is not a good thing in any way, england or europ will open to us sooner rather than later, imo.

3.) 21 Dec 2023 21:56:40
It will happen 100% maybe not just now but next 10 years it’s happening.

4.) 21 Dec 2023 23:14:26
Outwith England and maybe Germany, are the big clubs really against this? Italy falling further behind financially, Spain following, France never have been there. For me, Scottish football needs rid of the. If two or someone else to step up and make it interesting.

5.) 21 Dec 2023 23:20:49
I think it will happen at some point tt but will need to be European league, as England won't ever let us in, they don't have to, they just signed contract for around 6.7 billion for next few years. Crazy money down there, would love it to happen though.

6.) 22 Dec 2023 05:17:40
It was be wider than European super league, the Saudi’s will want in and I’d be shocked if they aren’t the people driving this madness.

7.) 22 Dec 2023 07:53:21
Sollof majority of sides have come out and said they are against it.

8.) 22 Dec 2023 09:17:47
SPL has been the same two teams for ever (basically)
Even when Gers went down, it was just Celtic winning everything and the SPL seemed happy enough letting that happen.
La Liga also same two teams most the time (Barca and Real) . Germany is mostly Bayern (11 years in a row i'm sure)
England has maybe 3 teams that can actually win the league.

England have all the money and i'm sure they are getting another spot in CL too.

Its became a total joke.

Wheres all the money required going to come from?
Even if Scottish teams got loads of mooney, it would take years to turn it round.

9.) 22 Dec 2023 10:44:59
To add to my first post, the ruling means Uefa will find it harder to refuse the creation of an Atlantic league. This could lead to the abolishment of the SPFL as we know it and merging our top teams with those of other smaller nations to n a new league. So whether the Superleague happens or not is fairly irrelevant as it won’t replace domestic leagues. Our domestic league is the problem and the cure is the Atlantic League replacing it. The TV money from this would allow us to compete better in Europe . It would also be the best thing to happen to Scottish football, with the chance for current mid table teams to have a realistic chance of winning a domestic league and also gaining promotion to the Atlantic League.

10.) 22 Dec 2023 13:48:02
A good post Mcminn.

11.) 22 Dec 2023 16:31:29
Thanks John, I hope it happens. ?.

12.) 22 Dec 2023 19:45:44
Just a matter of time before this super league gets the go ahead.

15 Aug 2023 22:24:01
A good second half. The team will click (maybe not in time for PSV) . We've got some very good midfielders now, Cifuentes has been very impressive. The forwards need to click and get match sharp. I think Beale has spent well. Lammers looks a bit on the laid back side but he'll soon learn in the SPFL what it's about and will improve as a player as a consequence.

McMinn

1.) 15 Aug 2023 23:16:48
Considering Cifuentes is not long in the door he’s been Playing amazing.

2.) 15 Aug 2023 23:19:41
Forwards don’t look like they will click in time doesn’t know his best forward line.

3.) 15 Aug 2023 23:29:07
I agree McMinnville psv will likely be too strong for us but it will be a blessing mate as well get pummelled in champ league, Europa will suit us fine imo.

4.) 16 Aug 2023 05:21:15
Thot lammers and dessers both looked slow and lazy when they came on. Lammers touch was terrible also.

5.) 16 Aug 2023 07:39:11
We won the game and if a Swiss team had beaten us then the co-efficient may have dropped and so that was important for Scottish football on the whole. We've got the cash in the bank now and in a way that's all that matters. Last year at this time we were all vexing over Morelos and Kent and I think everyone knew that they weren't going to take us anywhere. This year, it's an entirely new team and a new dynamic. I only listened to the game but for me the midfield looks very very strong now and full of mobility. Casting my mind back to the Liverpool game last year, that's where we disgraced ourselves and so that has been fixed. The rest is coming together quicker than I thought.

16 Jun 2023 08:15:23
People are querying Lammers.

McMinn

1.) 16 Jun 2023 09:37:06
Definitely a gifted footballer just hope he cuts it at our club, could be some signing.

2.) 16 Jun 2023 09:46:27
Thanks mate. He's being judged on here as a centre forward but he's clearly more winger/ attacker.

3.) 16 Jun 2023 09:50:31
Wow! First footage I've seen of him. Amazingly quick feet like a combination of Mols and Amato. Also looks useful in the air. If he settles and can feel the love with us he could do something special here. I know we shouldn't read too much into youtube videos but I must say I didn't expect that!

4.) 16 Jun 2023 09:51:22
Hope he turns out good.

5.) 16 Jun 2023 11:24:24
That's right, use footage four years old pre-injury to prove this guy is a good signing. That player is long gone. We have to trust Beale's gamble on him recapturing that old form somehow when he's not been able to in 4 years.

6.) 16 Jun 2023 11:31:48
Livi watch his interview, he literally says he's a striker. What else would you judge a striker on other than goals?

I openly question this signing but have no choice but to back him and hope he settles and starts scoring.

7.) 16 Jun 2023 11:38:47
Same here jim.

8.) 16 Jun 2023 11:54:51
Everyone slagging a players ability they haven’t seen play leave the judgment for once the footballs played can we for once.

9.) 16 Jun 2023 12:14:33
I tend to agree with bigbluejim, we've spent an awful lot of money on a striker, who's scoring rate isn't particularly good.

10.) 16 Jun 2023 12:18:38
Thanks for throwing a big pail of water and a custard pie all over me you naysayer you ?.

11.) 16 Jun 2023 13:15:55
That's odd livi because the lad said himself that he's mainly a striker. So what makes you think he's a winger?

12.) 16 Jun 2023 13:17:02
That may be the case the manager could see something in him that changes his play or brings it out. People on here have mentioned laudrup but I think of the struggling left winger arsenal bought played him through the middle and Thierry Henry became a legend. I'm more interested in what he offers our team and not the ones before or after.

13.) 16 Jun 2023 15:43:27
100% livibear ?.

14.) 16 Jun 2023 16:54:33
Just watched an interview with him on SkySports where he says he isn’t a typical striker. Also likes to drop deep and link play as well.
He will be an asset in a fluid 4-3-3?.

15.) 16 Jun 2023 20:31:06
The manager said he was a 10/ 9 so why not go with what the manager says instead of the player does the player pick the team?

Dessers is now showing that he is a good player. McCoist and Hateley were booed and written off in my day. Dessers was not match sharp in the first half of the season - now he is and it’s showing.

If it’s Lammers going to a Dutch club it should be a permanent transfer. They know what they’re getting I don’t see how a loan helps us.

It would be seriously remiss of PC not to have Lowry on the training ground for 6 months. I suspect talk of his alleged bad attitude is overblown but many young players do screw the nut eventually. I’d be more worried if he was on the drink every other night.

When Doig was at Hibs I wasn’t totally convinced by his technique. Since his move to Italy I’ve seen some impressive clips with Verona. I’ve also watched him a fair few times playing for the u21s since moving to Italy and his technique has improved massively. Physically he’s been impressive with lots of power and pace. Would be a good signing.

I’m not sure a loan to buy solves anything. The clubs would not necessarily take up the buy option after the loan spell. If we buy replacements now we may end up with a ridiculously huge squad. Better to sell them at an affordable price now.

I think Hardie would be a great signing. He’s filled out and has the pace and athleticism that Clement seems to like. A natural finisher of course and doing it at a much higher level than the SPFL.
