Just seen on online.
Potential loan from Leeds:-
Largie Ramazani.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 31 May 2025 16:04:00
Brilliant young winger. Believe this would actually be a very good move.

2.) 31 May 2025 16:08:31
Mph, I Would be happy with that mate, buy option though.

3.) 31 May 2025 16:22:57
Mystar, i'd normally agree about the buy option, but I think that all goes out the window if he's coming in from another RB club.

Zero loan fee and 0% wages paid by Rangers and the other mob would be spitting ?.

4.) 31 May 2025 16:38:10
Just had a look at him, averages a goal every 130 minutes, scored 8 and got 2 assists in 31 games for Leeds.

5.) 31 May 2025 16:42:39
Valued around seven million, was a child star at united done very little.

6.) 31 May 2025 16:57:12
He's a class player.

7.) 31 May 2025 17:00:01
We could end up with some cracking young players from the leeds set up, now their back in the EPL.

Win - Win.

8.) 31 May 2025 17:08:10
Jimbo, where are you getting this idea that we are red bull clubs?

9.) 31 May 2025 17:09:16
Tell me about it John. This page has gone horribly wrong. I posted on Thursday evening that the takeover would be annouced on Friday and all i got was slated because i said 'i can confirm'. I have posted 3 or 4 things on here over last couple of years, all have been absolutely spot on. Benefits of having someone close to me deep within the club. Makes me wonder why bother though sometimes.

10.) 31 May 2025 17:10:31
Wheres this been reported? We certainly need a good wide player.

11.) 31 May 2025 17:16:04
I would be very surprised if we sign anyone from Leeds.

12.) 31 May 2025 18:00:35
Lundstrum u don't post often however you r accurate. Roll on next week.

13.) 31 May 2025 18:38:26
Lunstrum folk love to have a pop just roll with it ?.

14.) 31 May 2025 18:55:07
Chill out Lundstrum, a few jumped on you but you were proved right so they're the ones that look silly, it's just a rumours page, not parliamentary debate. Most people on here a while know the good guys.

15.) 31 May 2025 19:04:12
Lundstrum - some folk just like having a go for any reason at all but you were proved right.

16.) 31 May 2025 19:13:17
Thing is Bazbear. The ones that look silly will just do it again.

17.) 31 May 2025 19:22:32
You have been correct repeatedly Lundstram and I for one appreciate your input??.

18.) 31 May 2025 19:46:52
People post rumours and people believe it or not it's a forum people will debate. Too many people these days get thier knickers in a twist who cares if someone believes you or not.

19.) 31 May 2025 19:55:20
Sry, another 49rs club SWM ^.

20.) 31 May 2025 20:49:19
I know white horse, but you're another of the decent guys, John, asa, Storm and stig, the amazing Fork, Angus, EHL and many others. If we've got an open forum then haters going to hate, ultimately I believe it's the haters that end up looking like dicks. We're all getting a bit of grief at some point, we're all big boys and girls.

21.) 31 May 2025 21:17:48
Thanks guys I appreciate that. Will try to continue to contribute for the good guys. Haven't heard anything yet at all about manager!

22.) 31 May 2025 21:24:08
Correct white horse, same do it over and over, Lundstram has been accurate with his posts but still gets it tight from some.

23.) 01 Jun 2025 01:29:56
Lundstrumloyal just block out the white noise mate, there is a growing number of "rangers fans" that all they do is moan and pick at other people's posts, especially if you are in the know they will just pick at it and question the rumour through jealousy, they are jealous because your info is on the money and they know hee haw.

All info from you guys (you know who you are) is very much appreciated.

1/ There are around a dozen of you guys who's info is "in the know"
2/ then there are people who post rumours they've heard to try debating with others.
3/ and then there's the actual haters, not to mention the great unwashed masquerading as bears who spend their time trying to wind up the 1s group of posters I mentioned.

31 May 2025 14:13:42
Wee weekend rumour.
Friend of a friend ( I know ), takes part in the FFIT at Ibrox and this week Duncan Ferguson was spotted as they ran round the pitch.
Now, does that mean with Thelwell in the door at Rangers and the previous Everton connection, does big Dunc have a role to play in the revolution?
Or does 2+2 = 5?

MrPotatoHead

1.) 31 May 2025 15:09:09
Potentially be part of DA backroom staff.

2.) 31 May 2025 15:11:11
Well MPH his name has been floating around to come in as part of the back room team with DA ?.

3.) 31 May 2025 15:47:26
Yes he would form part of DA team if he gets appointed, wrote three weeks ago about this.

4.) 31 May 2025 16:11:19
Johndo you think it's DA who. ll be new coach. Bookies are going in for martin now.

5.) 31 May 2025 16:17:16
I was calked a "melt" a few days ago bu a childish poster for filling a thread with Russel Martin - i was just trying to get a few Bears a few bob at the Bookies without being able to say more - it will be Russ the new Rangers Manager.

6.) 31 May 2025 16:25:00
OWS surely it can't be Martin if it's to be a manager with no ties to rangers.

7.) 31 May 2025 16:35:34
Very much looks like martin is a stick on to be the new coach, my gut instinct is cheap job and a miserable failure, mind you i will say on his behalf he has got the gift of the gab, going to be in for the long haul.

8.) 31 May 2025 16:43:42
One Walter I'm not getting involved, the way some people have been treated is disgraceful.

9.) 31 May 2025 17:10:30
Having just finished big Duncan's autobiography, it's reinforced my long held belief that he's an absolute cabbage.

10.) 31 May 2025 17:26:58
Ancelotti is still the bookies favourite at 5/ 4 Martin is 7/ 4, that ex Ajax manager was 4/ 1 yesterday 40/ 1 today, bookies have as much of a clue as the rest of us.

11.) 31 May 2025 17:31:39
Would like to see the Celtic fans try wind up big dunc in the dugout at parkhead, big man would do more than skoosh them with water.

12.) 31 May 2025 17:33:07
The Bookies are just taking money off of people. It won't be Russell Martin.

13.) 31 May 2025 18:02:25
Walter an accurate description, but anncellot loves him.

14.) 31 May 2025 18:17:02
If big Duncan did arrive at least he would help install a bit of grit and determination to a squad clearly lacking it.

07 May 2025 15:20:41
Common Sense?

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has proposed a change to the offside rule that would mean attackers are onside if any part of their body is in line with the last outfield defender.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 08 May 2025 10:42:50
He has been speaking about this for over 2 years now MPH.

2.) 08 May 2025 10:48:39
Dunno how thick's the line? I'm confused what was the question again lol.

3.) 08 May 2025 10:56:58
MPH, has to be, there no advantage to the attacker for having his big toe behind the defender. i'd say there needs to be clear daylight between the attackers last goal scoring body part and the defender for it to be offside this would mean there was a clear advantage. Considering its when the ball is kicked and not when they receive it the current offside rule is utterly ridiculous and ruining the game.

4.) 08 May 2025 11:10:53
Gersgirl that is what he is saying it should be. It will just lead to a different argument as to where the line is though, i.e. his heel was an inch behind the defenders front toe.

5.) 08 May 2025 13:05:06
Angus, that's why I'm saying there needs to be clear daylight to be an obvious advantage.

02 May 2025 15:52:33
Heard a name at work today from 2 different people.
Don't know if he's been mentioned before.
Christian Eichner?
I know absolutely nothing about him.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 02 May 2025 16:23:57
42 MPH Karlsruher head coach, same as you bud had to look. ?.

2.) 02 May 2025 16:27:28
Literally thought you meant karlsruher play at 42 mph ?.

3.) 02 May 2025 16:29:10
Lol Dizzee???.

4.) 02 May 2025 16:44:47
They are 8th in BL2 so on paper doesn't look like they are doing anything special. But I don't know anything about that league if that's better than expected or not.

5.) 02 May 2025 17:27:54
The name doing rounds yesterday Struber seems a realistic 1. He's worked for red bull in Austria and usa so will be known to the owners and Thirlwell.

6.) 02 May 2025 17:27:56
Bee only 7 off top spot though. it seems really tight on the top 10 teams there all within 9 points of the league. looking at table with last 5 results and no team is consistently winning so the standard must be fairly equal.

also good young German coaches get the chance in lower divisions, u19s and reserve leagues over there so he could be half decent but don't know.

7.) 02 May 2025 18:22:10
Done the same, Fork.
Doesn't have a great record as they have finished 6th, 12th, 7th and 5th in League 2.
Currently 8th. 7 points of 1st with 3 games left to go.
Some well supported teams in that league with 4 teams getting 50k and above!
Asked them who told them and it was a friend of a friend.
Not sure if some are just throwing names about like confetti and hope they are correct.

8.) 02 May 2025 19:32:42
Looking that way bud??.

9.) 02 May 2025 21:01:20
Mentioned him about 4 weeks ago my friend, great man and coach.

10.) 03 May 2025 07:26:31
Apologies, Asa.
Must have missed it.

Seen online. Not sure how much truth in it.

Breaking News: The #49ers enterprises purchase of the storied Ibrox club "Rangers FC" is expected to be completed by May, per sources.

The new ownership will spend nearly $100M to hold a 51% stake in the club.

Current Rangers FC CEO Patrick Stewart will address supporters on April 23 and this will be one of the topics!

MrPotatoHead

1.) 12 Apr 2025 18:17:27
The takeover will be concluded.

It is just a matter of timing the announcement.

2.) 12 Apr 2025 18:58:33
I can't see anything derailing this takeover.
What a start it would be to this new era if we could win the Europa league.

3.) 12 Apr 2025 20:26:20
If they win the league next week we may well announce it the next Day.

4.) 12 Apr 2025 22:02:29
Lets get past bilbao first eh!

5.) 13 Apr 2025 05:02:28
If they win the league at the next league game then we'll def announce something major to grab the headlines away from them lol.

6.) 13 Apr 2025 09:23:10
Tbh Gersgirl that news won't even be that big with them winning the league as we all know it's coming but that would be a cracking move from us to steal their limelight.

7.) 13 apr 2025 12:31:06
u can wait for bilbao, i'm able to think of two things at once myself, and il continue to di#cuss the takeover.

8.) 13 Apr 2025 12:49:37
@gersgirl and bigbluejim is if you lose today will the takeover be announced today/ tomorrow them?

9.) 13 Apr 2025 13:41:36
100 million and i bet people still think the old shareholders did everything unselfishly for club

They walked away with huge profit and good wages all those years and did a poor job too.

10.) 13 Apr 2025 18:41:19
Big blue more likely cup final weekend.

11.) 13 Apr 2025 20:15:30
Forever they weren't paid a wage and why would they give their shares away that they paid money for. some of the shares being sold would be in possession for the portion of the £100million in loans they gave to the club to keep it afloat since 2012. perhaps not totally unselfish but a love for the club would be why they did it.

12.) 13 Apr 2025 23:20:13
Might be right John just hope we are working on a manager appointment as we speak so we can get started fast as I predict a very busy summer incoming.

13.) 14 Apr 2025 16:59:05
Didnt take a wage aye right.

14.) 15 Apr 2025 16:49:02
I alos can't see the new owners wanting to put a lot of money in after oitlaying that much for club.

I think first couple years could be tough and definitely can see leeds playera coming on loan ?.

06 Jun 2025 09:05:25
Can I ask a couple of question.
Will the new manager have a say in signings?
Or has he been brought in to play a certain way with the players we have?
Or will he be expected to adapt to the players we have?

MrPotatoHead

1.) 06 Jun 2025 09:21:50
Players will be identified that align with the style the club are moving too. The head coach will then coach and mould these players.

2.) 06 Jun 2025 09:27:17
Kevin Thelwell told us the other day he will have a say mph, he also told us he's never signed a player his manager never wanted.

3.) 06 Jun 2025 09:31:41
Alot of emphasis on HEAD COACH I'm taking that to be he's here to coach, improve players, tactics etc but not have a lot of say in players coming in.

4.) 06 Jun 2025 09:41:00
From what I've been told he's asked for 4 of his own players to come in from clubs he's managed before so he has a core of players who play his style.

5.) 06 Jun 2025 10:00:46
MPH there is a story on the BBC Rangers pages where Thelwell briefly covers it. I know it is the BBC but worth a read as it explains it slightly better. says what My Star says tbh.

6.) 06 Jun 2025 10:03:28
MPH, the head coach will identify the areas of the squad they feel needs strengthening and feed this on to the recruitment team - along with the coaches at other levels within the club.

DP will then be responsible for ensuring that we're actively monitoring the right players to meet these needs and table a number of suggestions.

Then KT, DP and RM will then review the options and decide on the right players for that moment.

The club right now is in a really good position, as we have identified a significant roadmap of talent across various age groups.

7.) 06 Jun 2025 10:33:19
Thought was explained well in presser. Very much all work together on it. Identifying what wanted, recruitment identity players then talk with manager/ coach and decide together. No point forcing players on a manager they don't want.

8.) 06 Jun 2025 11:35:39
EHL. Can RM add his own choices to this list or is he limited to what Gers recruitment has already identified?

9.) 06 Jun 2025 11:40:10
Muscat, surely the person that's told you what players he wants in would have told you he was going to be next manager?

10.) 06 Jun 2025 12:08:47
Made pretty clear at presser that martin will have the final say on players.

11.) 06 Jun 2025 11:59:51
Broste, of course he can recommend players - but DP and his team would need to carry out their scouting review + due diligence of you like.

Otherwise, we end up back in a MB situation.

12.) 06 Jun 2025 13:15:12
EHL. cheers. Makes sense
Glad process / diligence etc will be followed across all recruitment.
I get feeling signings will create a bit of turbulence similar to RM fallout. As they'll be a mix of potentials with a limited amount of experienced campaigners thrown in.

05 Jun 2025 13:52:17
Russell Martin it is.
Was he first choice for many? Possibly not.
But the club are caught between a rock and a hard place.
Whoever was appointed would have been criticised by some.
We've seen that on here alone.
Apathy probably stems from the fact we've got it completely wrong with appointments.
But it's the dawn of a new era.
And we need to trust those now in charge.
I don't know much about his managerial career - only what I've read.
I know his Southampton team flopped big time in the EFL.
He carried out his Managerial apprenticeship with MK Dons where he didn't exactly set the heather on fire before joining Swansea.
Again, with Swansea he achieved mid table mediocre which was enough to get a move to Southampton.
With Southampton he reached the holy grail by beating Leeds in the play off.
Like others ( and his Team ), the EPL was a step too far.
What am I expecting? Not too sure.
But the thought of more possession-based football with a scare defence gives me the FEAR.
I've more questions than answers at this stage.
We now have it right of the park with the takeover.
It's imperative we now get it right on the park.
And more importantly, like all Rangers managers, he will get my 100% backing.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 05 Jun 2025 14:28:00
The only poster I saw wanting him was Tom.
Time will tell.
Ed, what's your thoughts on this appointment?

{Ed001's Note - I am not a big fan of Martin, his style of footie is slow and ponderous and the defending is poor. However, that might be different as a Rangers manager, where the style might work better. It at least allows a chance to draw the opposition out, if they think they have a chance of winning the ball in dangerous areas.}

2.) 05 Jun 2025 14:39:13
Ed001, I think he could do well in this league mate, our problem will be European games I'm thinking.

{Ed001's Note - that would be very much a worry in my thinking too.}

3.) 05 Jun 2025 14:45:20
Ed in Scotland most teams don't come out until the 80th minute when they try and throw the kitchen sink at you. It's unlike anything down south.

That said RM is said to be very good at breaking down low blocks - so that will come in handy up here!

My only concern at this point is given his style of play he might want to keep the likes of Propper. A terrible defender, but great passer of the ball ?.

{Ed001's Note - that is not unlike anything down south, have you not watched the Prem? At least half the teams play like that against Liverpool, City and Arsenal. Forest play that way regardless of who they face, as do any team coached by Moyes.}

4.) 05 Jun 2025 15:35:03
Surely a possession based game actually suits Europe. despite both the teams below Southampton being mid table he improved them in his season and a bit at both. that fact earned him his move from league 1 to championship. Got Southampton into EPL as well which isn't the easiest despite his ponderous style of play and losing lots of goals. goal difference in championship was 4th best in the league when they finished 4th which seems fair.

5.) 05 Jun 2025 15:50:23
Yeah Ed, but those teams at least try and hit you on the break. A lot of these teams won't risk hitting you on the break and literally play for long throw ins! It's mental.

They are genuinely satisfied to be loosing 2-0 at 80 minutes then they have a go.

I'm not sure it's the same tbh. If it was you wouldn't be able to command TV deals because the product would be terrible, just like ours.

6.) 05 Jun 2025 15:53:03
Great post MPH. Will sum up a lot of how we feel just how. I am quietly confident and willing to give Martin a chance. I think his style will really suit us. Wins the SPL and he will have us all on side ?.

7.) 05 Jun 2025 16:22:30
Ed, thanks for your reply.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

02 Jun 2025 10:06:45
A follow up questions to my previous about potential signing targets and thanks for the previous replies.
Excuse my ignorance.
But why would Thelwell and Purdy pursue targets identified by NK who was deemed surplus to requirements?
Surely they aren't going to risk their reputations on someone else's recommendations?
Or is it more complex and I'm looking at it from a simplistic POV when looking at potential new signings?
Just interested in how it all works. Cheers in advance.

MrPotatoHead

1.) 02 Jun 2025 10:23:08
It is more complex, someone can be deemed surplus to requirements due to the availability of someone more Elite that will take us forward long term.

2.) 02 Jun 2025 10:28:16
Im guessing past of it will be possibly him leaving due to a restructure rather than being "sacked". Maybe his current role doesn't fit into that structure.

Also I'm guessing the new team would review the current list we are going after and give their views if they agree or not possibly?

3.) 02 Jun 2025 10:36:25
MPH, the crux of this is in the misunderstanding that NK has been deemed surplus to requirements.

You may recall that the 49ers brought in a 3rd party to carry out a full review of the footballing operations.

I mentioned at the time that this highlighted that a lot of what PC and NK had implemented, or began to implement, was regarded as best in class.

NK is moving on as he's had a taste of a much larger role, when he stepped up, however as part of our restructure there is no role for him and he doesn't want to take a step back.

There is no animosity at all between NK and the club, hence why he's representing us in SA and why the plan is for him to remain for a period of time.

4.) 02 Jun 2025 10:51:53
Getting rid of someone "best in class" does not seem like a sensible move.

5.) 02 Jun 2025 11:18:50
Cheers for the replies.
I still can't understand how the new team would put faith in the old team?
Who takes the plaudits if NK's recommendations work out or vice versa if they don't?
Surely they would review all these potential signings?
For example, on here ( and I'm using this as an example only ), a lot would have Shankland, a lot wouldn't.
Now say for example NK didn't rate Shankland but Thelwell thought he could do a job then surely he would ditch NKs thoughts on Shankland and go with his own thoughts?

6.) 02 Jun 2025 12:02:26
MPH,

NK will use his knowledge and networks to identify potential players - i. e. Dio or Iga.

We as a club will then start to pull together data on those players - we will have hundreds of players that we are actively monitoring at any given time.

As we identify a specific requirement we will use our own scouts or scouting networks to produce more detailed analysis on of the player - probably have about 20-30 players at this stage at any given time.

This approach won't change - however maybe some of the methods within the analysis might.

So although NK may have identified the player originally, the analysis of the player will have been produced by multiple people and this should be relatively straightforward to hand over.

There may be some situations where we have identified a player and the new team think they have alternatives that are better options - so they will be compared.

However, it's not a case of starting over.

7.) 02 Jun 2025 12:52:30
Ehl, is it not the case Koppen to work with purdy re handover before leaving the club

EHL. I'm being told nk is conducting himself in a very professional manner.

8.) 02 Jun 2025 12:58:28
Thanks EHL.
Really appreciate that reply into how it all works?.

9.) 02 Jun 2025 13:19:16
Correct John, as above he's still representing us in South America and will coordinate with incoming staff to ensure there's continuity.

Said yesterday it was a shame it leaked as it was made to look like he was 'sacked' which isn't the case.

I'm sure when we issue the official release it'll be very positive towards NK both on terms of the job he's done and how he's done it.

01 Jun 2025 17:26:41
With Thelwell being joined by Purdy, will existing list of potential signings be reviewed / scrapped?

MrPotatoHead

1.) 01 Jun 2025 18:07:13
Think there would be a good chance of that or certainly a review of players targeted.

2.) 01 Jun 2025 18:09:11
Not my info mph but seemingly from a couple of itk guys that won't be the case, had those thoughts myself mate.

3.) 01 Jun 2025 18:27:14
Nope and am sure ehl has already said that.

4.) 01 Jun 2025 18:36:05
MPH, no.

NK, although leaving, will not be leaving immediately.

5.) 01 Jun 2025 19:02:15
Get the feeling the 49rs use data which Purdy is up to date with.

30 May 2025 16:31:57
"Dear Rangers Supporters,
We are proud to be entering a new chapter for this extraordinary club. This moment is the result of months of thoughtful discussions with club leadership and our shared confidence in Rangers' success going forward.
To that end we'd like to tell you a bit about our thinking.
Simply put - our goal is to win trophies in Scotland and be able to compete at a high level in Europe, while laying a foundation of financial sustainability for the future.
As our first step, we are investing fresh capital into Rangers, which will be strategically deployed on and off the pitch. While we recognise the importance of resources, we believe that thoughtful, disciplined investment, guided by a clear strategy, is the path to enduring success. Every decision, whether sporting or business, will be made with the club's long-term success and sustainability in mind.
We aim to leverage the full strength of 49ers Enterprises' sporting expertise and operational experience, and are confident in Patrick Stewart and Kevin Thelwell to lead this next phase. Our first priority together is clear: hiring a new men's Head Coach. That process is already well underway, and we look forward to sharing more updates soon. We will also look to invest in talent for our teams.
Moving forward, we are reconstituting the Board to bring in a few new voices and skill sets. We all owe a special thanks to the previous Board for their service. They stepped up in a difficult moment when the club needed them and laid the foundation for what comes next.
Above all, we know that true success comes from understanding and honouring what makes this club special. In our time getting to know Ibrox, Glasgow, and you, we've felt the pride, history, and passion that set Rangers apart. You have made it clear what this club means to you, and we take the responsibility of leading this club seriously.
We look forward to seeing you at Ibrox soon. For now, we'll keep working, and we can't wait for what's ahead.
Andrew Cavenagh, Chairman
Paraag Marathe, Vice Chairman."

I read that earlier MPH, best part for me was they will use the full Leverage of the 49er's Enterprise so they aren't here to mess around.

MPH thought it was a good Heart felt message
What did you make of it?

I posted about it last week.
Read it on X from a renowned Rangers page who had been passed the info from a Leeds fan who gets a lot of info correct in regards to Leeds.
Take of that what you wish.

Heard a story at work, which came from a Hibs fan who's son goes to Kevin Thomson's football coaching school.
He said that Thomson told him that Rangers were going to be cutting financial support to both the youth and women's team and concentrating on the Men's 1st team?

I would take a Morelos 2.0 as he could end up the clubs top European scorer like the original ?Morelos?.

Unfortunately with him not being first choice for many, BoyBlue, the knives could be out early doors.
On the flip side, if there is transparency from the new owners etc, we might just buy into another re-set and rebuild.
