Just hearing Barjonas possible loan deal to Partick Thistle and that Steve Davis rumour is maybe a non starter.

Pdot

1.) 29 Jun 2018 07:28:54
Barjonas to Partick is a big step up hopefully means he's ready to make the step up in to our set up

Will the fact we have an upcoming double header against the sheep have any bearing on McInnes' decision, should he be offered the job? Thoughts, bears?

Pdot

1.) 02 Nov 2017 07:51:37
realistically yes

but if a comp figure to release him from his contract has been set and we pay it, then there’s no reason it should

i appreciate due diligence must be done especially after last 2 appointments, but if we are going to get DM then we should do it sooner rather than later ie next week

2.) 02 Nov 2017 10:31:36
if we know who our top target is we should make a move right away as holding off won't do us any good at all we want the manager to have as many games this season as possible to get the best out of our players and to assess what he needs to bring in, but anyone who comes in should know what we need and should have been paying attention

3.) 02 Nov 2017 13:03:31
i believe they r moving fast. howver the reason i don't believe its mcinnes is because if it was him surely it would be job done already. why hold interviews in london if they already made their minds up.

Derek McInnes interview on Sportscene yesterday. He was trying so hard to keep the grin off his face when asked about the Rangers job! A very near relative recently said he would not have came during all the turmoil, but would love the job at some point. of course he would, he is a dyed in the wool bluenose! Get him in, NOW!

Pdot

1.) 30 Oct 2017 16:14:07
He's my preferred option.

2.) 30 Oct 2017 23:24:51
If McInnes is offered it then he will take it.

3.) 31 Oct 2017 08:30:03
Of course he will take it aberdeen are not a bad club but they will never be a dominant force regardless who manages them.

Just seen the sad news of the passing of Big Shuggie. A great competitor on the park, respected off it. Remember him being hard, but fair, in many great Old Firm games back in my younger days. RIP, big man.

Just a thought, but should the league use the £60000 received in fines from the 2 clubs guilty of C.V. breaches to lower league clubs to assist with costs for testing? My opinion is that they should, but knowing that lot, they won't!

Pdot

{Ed001's Note - they only received £16,000. The other £44,000 is a suspended penalty that they will only have to pay if they make another breach.}

1.) 23 Sep 2020 10:32:07
They should have been hammered more to help use the money for these clubs.

2.) 23 Sep 2020 10:38:28
Never mind the lower leagues, if the no fans continues til March like they say then how many spfl clubs go under? Livi will be grateful for the dykes money, Motherwell have assets but a few might not players they can shift. Plus if window closes October that avenue is gone and feels like there may be a bit trouble ahead. Maybe everyone goes bust and we can go to English leagues. Wouldn't mind that 😁🤣.

3.) 23 Sep 2020 12:05:07
or look forward boldly to a leaner more scaled business model with fitter clubs and invest in referees training to avoid conspiracy theory upsetting people and a more pro sporting environment.

4.) 23 Sep 2020 15:48:23
You're namesake (George Orwell) was a fantasist too. Good luck with that!

5.) 23 Sep 2020 16:11:05
Nah Eric. Sounds boring. Rather go to England mate 🤣 (tongue firmly in cheek here)

05 Sep 2020 10:04:21
Wee Northern Ireland left back, Lewis, seemingly going to Newcastle from Norwich for £13.5 million. Cash from Forest sold for £16 million. Seriously! What price Borna?

Pdot

1.) 05 Sep 2020 12:01:41
How do you know barasic is better than these players? He’s definitely one of our best and has the ability to play in the EPL but he did have a tendancy to avoid physical confrontations last season. Avoided 50/ 50s a good few times.

2.) 05 Sep 2020 12:03:27
Borna 20 mill starting price.

3.) 05 Sep 2020 12:48:08
To be fair Lewis looks a good player.

4.) 05 Sep 2020 12:58:00
Think obvs of the championship held in a higher regard compared to the spfl. Maybe if we played in those leagues then we could ask for they prices but while in the clearly inferior spfl we cannot. If Morelos done what we done here in the championship Newcastle, sheff utd Everton etc would have no issue paying at least 30 for him.

5.) 05 Sep 2020 15:25:07
Scottish football is a very inferior product therefore the financial talking begins at a different level, mainly because hundreds have gone for good money and never been head of again,
They have had one or two who were obviously at a higher level, van dyke etc but we haven’t really had epl standard since the likes of Reyna, Ferguson, etc.

6.) 05 Sep 2020 15:36:42
The 12th man. Good theory but blown out the water by the likes of Van Djik, Tierney and Dembele. And did Armstrong not go for about 7 mil? We constantly undersell our players. As far as ai can see Barasic is a regular Croatian international and a better player than Tierney so why shouldn't he go for 25+?

7.) 05 Sep 2020 15:53:45
Seeker, Barasic is a better player than tierney, in your opinion, not in many others though, the thing is about an engine, nowadays and since Hutton’s move actually every major club is looking for a fab with a massive engine, someone with pace and power going forward, 90 min machines, Hutton, Robertson and Tierney fit that bill, does Borna? Fantastic left peg, but is he able to do what Robertson can do? And it’s a very big?

8.) 05 Sep 2020 16:41:48
Until we win the league or cups our players will always be 'undervalued'. European runs will increase the values a bit but bigger teams won't take a punt on our players unless they perform to a high standard week in, week out.

Borna is maybe slightly different as he's a Croatia International but, again, until he plays for them in a major tournament his value won't be in line with English (overpriced) valuations.

9.) 05 Sep 2020 17:37:36
Your mostly correct, prices between English clubs should mostly be ignored when gauging value of players in Scotland, . It’s a mainly false economy and it’s just the way it is atm, Rangers will get what someone decides to pay, and in Alfie’s case my honest opinion.? Certainly not going to be a star, better for him to go abroad.

I know it's very early days, but Itten reminds me of Erik Bo Anderson! Hopefully he will improve, but has to be soon. Roofe (Roffe? ) looks to be getting up to speed, and luckily, we can afford to put them in the team against the utter garbage sides we are up against at the moment.
Any thoughts on this, guys?

Pdot

1.) 23 Aug 2020 21:19:31
Itten will come good. he's raw and learning how we play. he's showed bits and will be a playee but i don't see 20 plus striker there. hope i'm wrong.

2.) 23 Aug 2020 21:35:49
I’m thinking that it takes a bit more than 2 or 3 games to make any kind of valid assessment of a new player.

3.) 23 Aug 2020 21:48:58
Exactly dk19.

4.) 23 Aug 2020 22:18:30
Recall Bo Anderson scoring brace against Celtic.

5.) 23 Aug 2020 22:34:29
I am 50/ 50 on him but need to give him time to settle.

6.) 23 Aug 2020 23:38:31
Itten will be a great signing for us. Give him a wee bit to get used to team and Scottish football, this lad will score 25 a season.
Morelos has probably played his last game for us. A shame really but he's not committed.
If Leeds offer 16.5m it will trigger a clause in Kenya contract, although 50k a week is nice, his girlfriend is at uni here and they are settled, so it will come down to the lad.
Might be a way back for JJ if Kent goes.

7.) 24 Aug 2020 08:57:49
Pdot, well we just gubbed one garbage side and I'm fae Killie. They played 9 men behind ba even when two doon and showed their class. Plus we did nae play buffalo who's probs packing his bags anyway and good riddance because we showed we don't need such unprofessional losers.

At the Megastore today with the grandson for his new top, place was mobbed. Wee guy on the door said that today had been a quieter day than the previous few, which were heaving. Point is, the response from our amazing fans has been, maybe even more than usual, phenomenal. I was proud to be queuing with fellow bears to support our great club, and was impressed with the quality of the merchandise on sale. I believe we are about to enter a new, successful era of Glasgow Rangers where we will once again rule Scottish football.

Pdot

1.) 12 Aug 2020 18:37:53
well said bro.

2.) 12 Aug 2020 18:50:14
Pdot, great post thanks for sharing. Hope your grandson enjoyed the experience and got his top.

3.) 12 Aug 2020 19:09:25
Got the home one, he's a traditionalist, if 7 year old can be a traditionalist!

4.) 12 Aug 2020 19:20:08
Here Here this years strip sales will go along way to pay for kent and hagi so let's hope they pay us back by performing in our new kits.

Wright could be a cracking signing. Another young Scott I like is Doig, Hibs left back. Could be a eady made replacement for Borna.

Good bit of business to A) get rid of him and B) just about get the money back for him. Overall, I think we are nearly there as a team, but think we need to have a settled look going in to the league campaign. We have played some nice stuff, but have also been sloppy. Hopefully we will sharpen up and hit the ground running against Killie. No worries for next Thursday, but I think only having a 2 goal lead will mean we don't muck about with the starting 11 too much, which could potentially be a good thing.

He's local to where I live. Remember scoring 4 out of 5 penalties against him when I was a lad and he was Aberdeen number 1.Lovely man, and needless to say, I wish him well in his fight against cancer.

Seems to be taking more responsibility, and brimming with confidence. Hopefully he can keep it going and stay healthy as we push for 55.
