Good morning fellow Bears.

I see in the papers today that Nottingham Forrest are sniffing around Big Joe Aribo.

The article highlights that Forrest have already spent big on a Nigerian international, one that isn’t as well regarded as Aribo, and that their billionaire owner is happy to spend more.

I hope he has deep pockets. I don’t know the ins and outs of transfer business, but I think £15m would be a fair prize for one of our top players.

Would love a wee cheeky 15-20% sell on too if it can be worked in to any deal that might be made.

Have you got an inside track on this one @John?

Shooting_From_The_Hip

1.) 25 Jun 2022 09:39:13
One year left on contract bid of about 10 million will get him.

2.) 25 Jun 2022 09:49:31
I agree with stormtrooper that around the £10million mark will get joe aribo and i always thought he would be definitely the first big hitter to be sold.

3.) 25 Jun 2022 09:54:22
If Nottingham Forest signed him for £17.5 mil then We should be asking for no less than around the same fee

Aribo is the Nigerian first pick attacking midfielder, although this guy is a unit he doesn’t have the same impact on that team

Seen a popular Rangers podcast show on YouTube during the week mention a few of around £8-10 mil would be what we should be looking for

Absolute joke, that fee would then determine the fees we would be willing to accept from all players with 1 yr left on their contracts

Aribo won’t leave unless

1 - He has a smaller release fee attached to his contract which determines his transfer value
2 - we receive a suitable offer which falls in line with a guy who just scored in a major European final, first pick Nigerian international and heals just played 70 games in a season

The 70 games alone would be enough value add selling we would require in order to demand a higher fee

I have faith that the board will get the right price for Joe.

4.) 25 Jun 2022 10:34:28
I honestly don’t see how playing 70 games in one season adds value to be honest. He went thru a season not being injured.

5.) 25 Jun 2022 10:57:23
£15 plus add ons.

6.) 25 Jun 2022 11:03:35
Celtoc got 13 for ajer last year of deal and got more for eduoard also last year of deal. No less than 13 for aribo.

7.) 25 Jun 2022 11:15:42
Storm, given the list of Emergency Ward 10 players we have, 70 was quite impressive ?.

8.) 25 Jun 2022 11:18:48
Aribo supposedly has a £10m release clause activated in the final year of his contract (according to previous posts on here from people who have a track record of knowing their stuff) . So all stuff about £15m is very wishful thinking.

9.) 25 Jun 2022 11:20:05
Paul but these figures included future add ons.

10.) 25 Jun 2022 11:21:47
Storm It highlights the guy is not injured, always available, says a lot about his character and he's first name on every managers team sheet atm that's adding value for me mate.

11.) 25 Jun 2022 11:26:47
It was impressive mate and not saying it isn’t but doesn’t add value for me.

The other Nigerian boy who isn't as highly regarded had more than one year on contract and scored over 20 goals in German league which is a lot better than Scottish league also he is a striker and aribo isn’t. You can’t compare them. Also who is it the that decides who is highly regarded more than the other?

Paul doesn’t matter what Celtic got for their players.

They are also rumors aribo has a release clause in contract don’t know if it’s true or not.

12.) 25 Jun 2022 11:49:30
Three houses are up for sale on the same street

The first of those houses sells way below market value and the original asking price

How does that sale price affect the other sale price of the two other houses

Simple business one O one, use the stats and relative market value to get the right price for our players

Use Austria/ Belgium as relative markets where players sell consistently over £20 mil.

13.) 25 Jun 2022 11:58:15
£10 million if one team is interested aye but if 3/ 4 prem teams are sniffing about it’s a easy £15 million as there will be a bidding war.

14.) 25 Jun 2022 12:16:37
Storm IT TOTALLY MATTERS what Celtic got. It sets a standard and a baseline for our price. It’s basic retail mate. Like selling a house. At some point the value increases as demand increases. Then at some point a house will sell for more than any other previously! That street has now increased its value! Anyone selling their house now has a new bench mark and asking price!

That’s how it works. So previous record shows that Kjaer and Eduarde in final seasons had a value greater than half on here understand. On top of that Edourde not even an international player. Aribo is No.10 for Eagles that itself has value.

If you are selling you highlight the values. Your attitude is that of a buyer not a seller. Quite honestly why so many Gers want us to line other teams pockets is staggering.

It’s up to Rangers to set their stall out and stand strong.

I said at the end of the season Wilson has a big window to get things right. Selling key players for a value in OUR favour is part of that. Get it wrong and he has question marks against him.

He was outstanding in his management of SG leaving and was meticulous so I think he will come good.

Aribo is £15m and potentially more with the right clauses built in!

Sell less it’s a failure. You should never settle for less.

If Wilson undersells players this window for me he will have failed and devalued the club.

It’s also worth highlighting that contracts should not have been agreed with key players ending in the same year. I mentioned this at the time and was told to calm down! Well we now have that problem where too many at once have more power and influence over the team.

15.) 25 Jun 2022 12:59:08
Gdog it doesn’t matter what Celtic got one bit.

16.) 25 Jun 2022 13:00:17
Sydney house selling in the same street is completely irrelevant to selling football players.

17.) 25 Jun 2022 13:35:38
GDog. As much as i agree its a baseline and scottish clubs should be asking for more for their players, but
Aribo is meant to have a clause in his contract when he enters the final year similar to Haaland which means he can be purchased for a cheaper price.

Im with storm, as i replied to you yesterday on another post its down to the interested club how much they are willing to pay and how much they see their value increasing down to performance.

Its alright for rangers to demand a big fee but doesn't mean a club is going to meet this and can end up losing aribo or morelos for nothing on a bosman.

We need to do what's best for the club and follow the trading model. Buy small sell for a big profit.

18.) 25 Jun 2022 14:16:59
Storm aye it does! ?.

19.) 25 Jun 2022 14:17:54
RFC great points! Another reason why his value stays strong.

20.) 25 Jun 2022 14:23:47
Irvblue yes there is a ‘he’s only worth what people are willing pay’

That’s what you say when you are the buyer! Selling is one of the oldest games on earth. There are those that are good at it and those that are bad.

From experience I can tell you some on here would get their ass wiped day in day out and I would happily buy off you regularly knowing I've saved a mint!

21.) 25 Jun 2022 14:28:34
Stormtrooper we will disagree to agree as we both want what’s best for our team.

22.) 25 Jun 2022 14:47:40
I replied back irvger as you are 100%.

Gdog in your opinion yes in mine it doesn’t so we will leave there as I don’t one to get into a childish argument with someone like you.

Ps Gdog if he does have a clause in contract like it’s rumored then it definitely 100% doesn’t matter but have a good weekend.

Correct Sydney we won’t always agree, but what the same thing.

23.) 25 Jun 2022 16:31:03
Prices paid affect ALL market values.

24.) 25 Jun 2022 16:43:53
GDog, they didn’t get £13m for Ajer. It was around £6-7m plus add ins totalling max £13m. They report it as the max price £13m to appease they’re fans. Same for French eddy, Dembele and the rest.

25.) 25 Jun 2022 17:06:33
Correct borna. Only need to read their accounts.

26.) 25 Jun 2022 19:11:09
Joe Aribo has a 10 million release clause that becomes live on July the 1st.

27.) 25 Jun 2022 20:45:58
Correct borna it was the same for frimpong they said they got 12 million for him and they didn’t but some of our Gullible fans believe it.

28.) 26 Jun 2022 12:29:15
I don’t think Celtic would be allowed to report in their accounts money they didn’t get for players and would have to put actual figures in. John 25 you seem to be very knowledgeable in this area can they actual record money not received and if so how is this possible?

Thanks.

Good morning troops.

Was at the game yesterday and there was rumblings that rangers are seemingly interested in Danny Drinkwater on loan for next season. Has anyone else been hearing this?

Personally I hope we go out and buy players outright instead of getting players on loan with no hope of selling on at a profit.

Also, and I know it’s not much of a rumour but hearing bassey may be out the door early in the window, allowing Gio to use some of the money to reinvest in the team before European qualifiers.

Wouldn’t want us to accept anything less than £15m as he is a player I think we can build a team around. At £15m I’d hope there would be a healthy sell on clause to ensure rangers don’t miss out a potential windfall if he continues his stellar rise and development.

Personally think he is every bit as good as Tierney, he is less injury prone and has more pace. So why shouldn’t we expect similar to what ‘they’ got for him.

Personally I’d love to keep bassey, at least for another season, but can see the club being able to turn down £15+.

What’s your thoughts troops?

Shooting_From_The_Hip

1.) 22 May 2022 10:35:24
Personally wouldn't sell Bassey, his development and growth and potential are there for all to see.
Personally think Drinkwater would be just another Andy King, would rather invest and give Lowry more game time.
That's just my personal opinion though personally.

2.) 22 May 2022 10:47:13
I'm new on here keep forgetting username, I can't believe fans saying they want Bassey sold.
Talking 9 million or 15 million.
He's a beast of a player, he's only getting better.
Hope we keep him he's got some talent and engine.

3.) 22 May 2022 10:49:49
I think there is always room for a quality year long loan player who compliments the squad.
Not sure Drinkwater is that player.
And any loan shouldn’t be to the detriment of the development of our own talented youngsters who are ready to step up.

4.) 22 May 2022 11:02:17
Yip we should now give a few of our young talented players a chance to flourish and i think gio will As for selling the superb calvin bassey i'll say this. It will have to be an incredible bid for rangers to sell him as this young man will only get better and better Left footed centre halfs and left backs are harder to come buy so i most certainly wouldn't be selling bassey at this moment in time as like i said if it's an incredible bid by another club .

5.) 22 May 2022 11:06:58
Is the drinkwater rumour not a p. take started by them in reference to Seville. Not sure though. Anyway if we can get 40-60mil for Kent aribo kamara and bassey plus our Europa money we would be in some position financially for Gio to strengthen - love bassey but if 20 plus add ons comes in not sure we could reject that - still have a decent base even with Greegs and goldson leaving - mcglough, tav, soutter, balogun, barasic, Jack, Lunny, Wright, Sakala, hagi, morelos with Roofe, helander, Davis (maybe), arfield, king, sands, Lowry, McCann, McKinnon, polish lad, Devine - once gio adds 3/ 4/ 5 real quality signings to that it’ll be some team and financially much stronger - great season I feel Europa finalist and SC winner, Gio seems like an upgrade on SG and souttar looks solid and good chance of making CL next season - all really positive looking forward to next season .

6.) 22 May 2022 11:32:47
Keep Bassey and SFTH-Tierney was sold for 25 million.

7.) 22 May 2022 11:58:08
Drinkwater is a p**s take from Wednesday night.

8.) 22 May 2022 12:10:16
Drinkwater has his off field problems, coming to the Glasgow old firm fishbowl is not what he or us need.

9.) 22 May 2022 12:17:21
Saw the Drinkwater rumour a few days ago. Decent player a few years ago but been kicking around on line for last few years. 32 years old and not what we need now imo. I would like to see Billy Gilmour in on a years loan, next to Lundstrum that would be some combination. Said on here yesterday Tierney went for £25m so that’s should be the starting point if Bassey was to go. I really hope we keep him for a good crack at CL next season and with him on an extended and improved deal.

10.) 22 May 2022 12:25:58
Would be another joey barton. Gio is a true professional. He will not sign players with off the field issues.

11.) 22 May 2022 12:29:02
Bassey ain’t going anywhere if any player is getting sold it will be aribo.

12.) 22 May 2022 12:30:41
We aren’t selling half the team and aren’t getting anywhere near 60 million really wonder what some fans are thinking complete nonsense kamara no long signed a new deal.

13.) 22 May 2022 13:28:04
4 players is not half a team Tango and would not be surprised if aribo 10 kent 15 kamara 10 all left - sometimes a new contract strengthens our selling power in kamaras case - bassey 20 could very well go if a huge bid comes in - not sure how this is nonsense but all about opinions.

14.) 22 May 2022 13:55:32
As dado says drink water a wind up from Seville.

15.) 22 May 2022 14:18:01
Wouldn't want drinkwater, rather give our youth a chance.

16.) 22 May 2022 15:23:17
4 starters is basically half the team.

17.) 22 May 2022 15:34:05
For me Bassey is the player our defence should be built around. I genuinely think he should go nowhere unless it's over the 20million mark. He has been outstanding especially in Europe this year. Also think the fact he plays both LB/ LWB and CB makes him worth that at least.

15 Feb 2022 18:37:10
Troops, just passing in a rumour that I had passed to me. For awareness, I don’t have any other information from my source so don’t know how credible it is.

Anyways, he is saying that some of the players WONT be involved in the euro tie in Germany as they are not jabbed. One of the players mentioned is Kent.

I hope this isn’t true, as playing on the counter on Thursday is likely our game plan for Thursdays, but interested in your thoughts.

Has anyone else heard this?

Shooting_From_The_Hip

1.) 15 Feb 2022 18:57:28
Yeah heard this. kent sakala and roofe apparently not travelled due to not being double jabbed.

2.) 15 Feb 2022 19:49:32
If this is case can see court case here that's a ridiculous situation if true btw does have smell of a celtic da statement about it 🤔.

3.) 15 Feb 2022 19:50:57
Oh man.

4.) 15 Feb 2022 19:51:27
Heard this also, surely we would’ve knew by now.

5.) 15 Feb 2022 20:02:34
Rangers don’t travel till tomorrow.

6.) 15 Feb 2022 20:16:16
Did a tennis player not relinquish world best as he refused to be jabbed as his right .

7.) 15 Feb 2022 20:24:53
If true then how will there be court cases if that’s the rules in Germany then so be it (if true)

8.) 15 Feb 2022 21:21:32
Sorry john re phrase. not travelling.

9.) 15 Feb 2022 21:23:38
I wouldve thought those mentioned hadn't travelled as the rest of the squad don't travel until tomorrow.

10.) 15 Feb 2022 21:30:01
It's not true. I travel between Germany and UK regularly, just got back on Sunday. Everyone entering Germany either has to be jabbed, show a negative test or recently recovered. No reason German authorities would not allow unjabbed in if they have a negative test.

11.) 15 Feb 2022 21:44:35
As I said, only something passed on to me. I guess the first time we might get an indication is the normal media images of the players at Glasgow international.

Hope it’s not true.

12.) 15 Feb 2022 21:53:31
Everyone has the right to take or refuse the vax! It's each player's decision!

13.) 15 Feb 2022 23:03:49
It's not true if Germany were not allowing competing players in the country uefa would have something to say I'm sure under Thier rules you don't need to be jabbed so Dortmund could be expelled or have to play in neutral country.

14.) 15 Feb 2022 23:11:08
It's pretty much match fixing uefa should be protecting the players rights on this as country to countries rules are different a player should be taking uefa to court over this a negative test is all that should be required although I'm not bothered if rangers players miss out this time I'd rather focus on the league.

15.) 15 Feb 2022 23:54:24
Its a total personal choice. C.V. now is next to nothing at come the summer you won't need jags or vax passport.

16.) 16 Feb 2022 07:26:12
Fair play to anyone who refused to be injected with who knows what. I for one will not hold it against them if true. Personal health before government wealth.

17.) 16 Feb 2022 12:05:31
Apparently false rumour circulating yesterday as Kent etc all travelled to France to play Lyon when there was major restrictions.
And on another note, how do people know which player has or hasn't had the vax? As far as I'm aware the club or players haven't given anything away?

18.) 16 Feb 2022 12:38:38
what about the 'elite' sportsmen thing - have we not got round this previously (as have others)

19.) 16 Feb 2022 13:29:57
Don't know why we are still debating it. Go to Google, type entry requirements Germany, click first website and read the first paragraph
"From 11pm GMT on 3 January 2022 travellers aged six or over entering Germany from abroad must possess either proof of vax, proof of recovery or a negative C.V. test prior to arrival and present this proof on request to carriers or authorities"

20.) 16 Feb 2022 15:05:12
Everyone who is fit has travelled as seen in the official airport video.

21.) 17 Feb 2022 16:30:20
No sakala or roofe on bench? Perhaps some truth?

Good morning Troops.

Not a breaking transfer story, more of an opinion really to see what you guys think.

With big Itten coming back, it looks like he will be the third fit number 9 option that the team needs for the second half of the season. It’s also being reported that big Souter is on his way that will add competition to the CB position meaning we will have 4 options there.

The question is, do you think there will be anymore January movement (incomings)?

Previously Ross Wilson stated that rangers will not do late deals in the transfer windows as it leaves the club little time to secure replacements, so with itten and potentially Souter joining sands, it might just mean that rangers are content with the squad and feel we can hold on to the title with what we have.

Keen to hear your thoughts.

Shooting_From_The_Hip

1.) 12 Jan 2022 12:06:58
I think if Itten does come back if he's very lucky Gio might want to give him another chance but i think he will most likely be put out on loan again. As for signings then who knows .

2.) 12 Jan 2022 13:50:05
Can’t be loaned out again this season can only play competitively for two clubs in a season.

Troops.

First of all, I rarely post but check in multiple times a day a genuinely appreciate all the gossip/ gen information.

For me if we sell Butland at this stage of the window, it sends the wrong signal. It’s also shortsighted.

If he gets into the England squad, how much is he worth in August this year.

He has been a revelation. And seems like a top bloke.

DO NOT SELL BUTLAND.

Afternoon troops.

My understanding is that cantwell is an CAM. If we are bringing him in, does this mean The Club are looking at long term options instead of Tillman? With Cantwell available for free in the summer, or for a small fee now, and with Tillmans fee being muted at around 6mil to make it permanent, could this be the club being shrewd in the market?

Just a thought!
