Colak is currently on a plane to Copenhagen in Denmark, would be surprised if he was on the move but that's where he is.

SuperAlly1872!

1.) 05 jan 2023 23:57:06
if i was him, and playing second fiddle to alf, i would be out the door too, imo, be dreadful to lose him, should have gone straight back in as first choice, if fit.

2.) 06 Jan 2023 00:12:35
I don’t think Colak is the type of player Beale wants. He’s a poacher who stands around the box. Rangers need a far more complete CF in that lone striker role. Someone who can drop deep, interchange with the wide attackers, link up play, etc. Most modern teams who play a high pressing 4-3-3 use CFs, not poachers.

People will talk about playing 2 up front but It’s not happening. When Rangers need to change their entire system to accommodate one guy there’s a problem. I feel like Colak is like Kris Boyd all over again - Great against cannon fodder SPFL teams but a man down against more quality opposition.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

3.) 06 Jan 2023 00:13:28
Could just be visiting old team.

4.) 06 Jan 2023 00:25:06
Not again Tom How many times you going to go on about this. Leave it to beale to decide if colak is ready to play and if he is first choice if he's not then support the players out there and the team. even if colak is second choice I would hope he would fight for the Jersey not just leave only just arrived.

5.) 06 Jan 2023 02:22:20
I agree with that GI only been here about 6 months, if not interested in challenging for a start would he be any good for us moving forward, but i think he will fight for a place in the team tho.

6.) 06 Jan 2023 02:23:22
That's funny verdant I seem to remember him scoring the goal that got us to champions League.

Also there is no point having three forwards that all play the same way this lack of willing to change is going to bite us people say we can't play other ways but what has the way we've been playing won us over the years not much 1 league 1 cup ? but your all eager to stick.

7.) 06 jan 2023 03:59:25
sorry gi, shall i just stop saying anything then? , don't quite know what your going on about, but people repeat themselves 5 times a day 20 times a week here, i don't remember goimg on about the point i just made /?

8.) 06 Jan 2023 05:08:37
Go,

Beale plays a 4-3-3. It utilises a lone striker. Morelos is the best striker we have to occupy that role, but due to a lack of goals it looks like he’s on the outs. What we need moving forward is a player like Morelos who is more clinical in front of goal. Give us that, and we’ll win a lot more.

I know Colak can score goals and people will always champion him to play. However, his lack of overall ability means the system is never as effective as it can be while he’s in it. We had the exact same situation with Kris Boyd for years. People use to say - ‘no Boyd, no goals, no title’. Then we brought in Jelavic who was a vastly superior player. I’ve seen all this before. I don’t know what else to tell you ?‍♂️.

9.) 06 Jan 2023 07:06:54
Lack of ability lol colak is amazing finisher 14 games 11 goals 3 assists in the league if Beale gets rid of him he knows F##k all has 3 goals in champions league qualifiers he also presses well and all this while the team was playing it’s worse football in ages if the team plays to there potential a would fancy colak for 25 goals a season.

10.) 06 Jan 2023 07:21:39
Just one question guys

If and it’s a big If at the moment colak was to leave so quickly
Oh Jeezo I’m so tired of typing this - shouldn’t we be looking at the scouting team and again Ross Wilson bringing in players that last a few months and then there off again?
and if Tom orediction is true regarding Yilmaz also we paid too money for him for our. Urge the should have been a player walking into first team for they kind of money?

if both end up out here door so quickly after money and time spent on them
They must know what type of players there buying surely to god?

I’ll say it now if both leaving so quickly whether Beale wants them or not we should be buying players that are of such quality any manger in place should be able to use as they should have the ability to adapt to various tactics surely especially a striker and a LB/ w
You would think would you not?

if not ridiculous recruitment and money wasted again

I’ll wait and see if this rumour turns out to be true?

11.) 06 jan 2023 07:45:41
i would take 5 years of kris boyd tomorrow, almost guaranteed to score goals, walter changed his system in europe and most old firm games, and boyd took us to cups and titles, sadly disrespected by some rangers fans, mainly those that don’t remember the goals.

12.) 06 Jan 2023 08:16:43
@stig. These players were bought as part of “the rangers list” there was no “gio list”. So their purchase rests firmly with the DOF. If they're on the move already due to a change of manager and/ or system then its a poor purchase unless they're shifted on for a massive profit. Yilmas hasn't done or had the opportunity to do enough to justify his price tag so chances of that are slim. Colak might well fetch more than we paid…. But that still leaves 2 first team players available to go on a bosman end of june. Aribo pegged down to a price from entering his final year.
You have a DOF to avoid this stuff…. should these players move on it just proves gio wasnt competently backed and beale will be no different.

13.) 06 Jan 2023 08:49:47
So many debates just because a player was seen at an airport. So far this week Morelos, Kamara, Colak all apparently leaving because they were at an airport. It is funny on here.

14.) 06 Jan 2023 08:53:18
Colak only just back from injury. Nit that he's playing 2nd fiddle.

15.) 06 Jan 2023 09:05:33
Good post GI.

Colak is just been out for a few weeks let him get fit and see what Beale does with him before we have him leaving guys.

16.) 06 Jan 2023 09:09:00
Darth you can’t blame the DOF for players not wanting to sign a contract we have bought players on frees that’s ok for you but not ok that players do it to us ?.

17.) 06 Jan 2023 09:33:14
Rfc52,

Boyd scored a lot of goals too, but he still lacked plenty of ability in other areas. This resulted him getting a lack of game time in Old Firms, Europe, and internationally.

Honestly, we had these same debates a decade ago. Boyd was a poacher, Miller did the running. Walter Smith himself said that Jelavic brought the best of both worlds - We need someone like that again.

If the scouting department can find Rangers a striker with the overall play of Morelos, and the finishing ability of Colak, that would be grand ??.

18.) 06 Jan 2023 09:37:32
Storm think your being harsh there mate
Think you know what his meaning is

will wait and see if Wright matondo and Sakala etc work leave for millions of pounds in proffit

When you take in Aribo cost, wages money spent developing him bonuses paid and possible agent fees etc etc the amount we got for him wasn’t a great deal of money compared to what he is and was probably worth

I think we can all be honest put our hands up and say our transfers in / out over the past 5 years or so hasn’t brought us the success nor the profits we or the club would like we reached a final in the Europe I know before anyone mentions it we didn’t win it unfortunately
We have won one league and one cup
We have probably the biggest or Atleast the second biggest wage budget in Scotland we should have been winning more cups and been more competitive in fighting for the league
st Johnston won 2 cups on a shoe string budget compared to us

We can talk the dof up or down all day long debate it over and over again

It’s the success on the pitch where it will all be judged and so far he’s fell way short and so did his predecessor.

And I would say that’s a fact.

19.) 06 Jan 2023 09:37:34
Colak will play at tannadice on Sunday.

20.) 06 Jan 2023 09:49:50
Sorry tom didn't mean to have a dig your initialed to your opinion but i keep seeing you post along the same lines colak should be playing ahead of alfredo and that's fine but as many keep telling you and the manager he's just back from injury let him get back fully fit then we can see if he is number 1 or not, no point in keep posting about it until we no.

21.) 06 Jan 2023 09:50:33
Could he be getting a connecting flight to fly home for a few days as there are limited direct flights?

Or maybe he is a turncoat desperate to leave because he hasn’t got his place back yet after injury?

Consiparacy or real life?‍♂️.

22.) 06 Jan 2023 09:54:19
Well never get a striker like that verdant unless it a boy from the academy, as player like you said would be well out of our price range, also he would never move to Scotland.

23.) 06 Jan 2023 10:08:37
Lack of ability? A don’t think Colak lacks ability he scores he assists he runs his baws off and links up well. Just because he’s no a heavy striker who uses his body doesn’t mean he lacks ability he’s got bags off it. Player who got both malmo and rangers to the cl has plenty to his game.

24.) 06 Jan 2023 10:25:36
For me Colak just simply isn’t mobile enough. Seems like a great guy and team member, but no.

25.) 06 Jan 2023 10:26:22
Colak is the best striker we have. He is also the most natural goal scorer we have. He's our top scorer. Goals win games. Colak starts.

26.) 06 Jan 2023 10:50:48
Best striker we have? great goalscorer but both Morelos and Roofe are better footballers.

27.) 06 Jan 2023 11:16:06
In my opinion Colak is much more than just a poacher.

His work rate of the ball is fantastic - not only in terms of pressing defenders, but also in terms of his movement when not directly involved in play.

I also didn't think his link up play was bad, it just wasn't a natural part of his game, which I took as a positive.

The only flaws in his game was a lack of any real pace and physicality - however like Roofe his football brain more than compensates.

Would be gutted to see him go.

28.) 06 Jan 2023 11:47:03
Morelos probably the slower out of the 3.
Morelos the laziest out of the 3.
Morelos the most temperamental out of the 3.
Morelos the moodiest out of the 3.
Roofe the most injury prone out of the 3.
Roofe scores the best goal out of the 3.
Colak the most energetic out of the 3.
Colak the best finisher out of the 3.

29.) 06 Jan 2023 12:02:01
Thestig can you please tell me where I am being harsh? What I said is right.

We are buying in the bargain bucket every transfer isn’t going to work could it be better 100% yes but it’s more than scouting in the job of the DOF some don’t seem to understand that either.

Even if you spend millions it’s not a guarantee the transfer will work. The board seem to think Ross Wilson is doing a good job or he wouldn’t be there.

30.) 06 Jan 2023 12:03:02
Ehl colak work rate and link up play is what let’s him down it’s nowhere near what you say it is but he is an outstanding finisher and am sure he will get games asap.

31.) 06 Jan 2023 12:28:43
I was last seen in Kilburn. Must mean I'm leaving the missus.

32.) 06 Jan 2023 12:49:51
@stormtrooper its part of the game, players run contracts down. The whole point in having a dof is to avoid them even getting to the last year. Having contingency plans and moving players on before they hit their final year. Wasnt it last season where wilson championed this european trading forum that HE founded?!? Weve lost aribo, fine. Sold bassey (total no brainer) . Noone can deny we have brought in far too many injury prone players, in our “player trading model”. Granted not everything works out. But the last manager was made a scapegoat for the failings in other areas of recruitment. Morelos should have been sold when the bid from (i want to say lille? ) came in. Arguably kent was worth a lot more than what leeds were offering. We made about £20mil off that euro run, and kept a player that ended up injured for the end of it that will now likely leave for free.
No, you can't force a player to sign a new deal, but anyone could have told you buff was going to ask for silly money to stay. At least we've had our moneys worth out of him.

33.) 06 Jan 2023 13:02:59
Storm that’s the point I’m making we are buying bargain basement but we still pay good wages and pay some good money on transfer fees
But most haven’t worked out great

you would have seen the post I put I. The other day I know hindsight and all that etc
But we have had chances to go for players who would have potentially made a difference had a good sell on too as they have been of good ages and similar and if not at times cheaper options and we or should say Ross Wilson has allowed them all to pass by
I’m talking about the post I put ion naming the players who have been at clubs in Scotland who have moved on all doing very well in the most part

Honeslty I don’t like saying it
But Ross Wilson and Co haven’t done a great job and we have spent some very good money on a lot of players over the best part of 6 years without a significant return on success on the pitch a stranger fees when they have left

I honestly feel he could be replaced and we could have simlar if not better results by someone else
or let Beale use the scouting system and let him go for his own players?

I’m a bit fed up with eh old director of football role to be honest

That’s just me though - old school ?.

34.) 06 Jan 2023 13:37:55
Good reply and post darth you probably worded it better then myself mate ?.

35.) 06 Jan 2023 14:36:48
All this and Colak isn't even leaving.

36.) 06 Jan 2023 14:52:26
Darth how do you get a club to bid for a player or get a player to sign a new deal If they don’t want to you can’t make them. But I don’t hear you moan about us signing players on a free but hey that’s ok ? it happens at every club in the world not just ours.

The stig did Beale not say today he has final
Say.

37.) 06 Jan 2023 14:53:12
The stig who else could we get in to do a better job?

38.) 06 Jan 2023 14:56:51
Just my opinion but it's the DOF that brought in Gio. Euro final and CL money, DOF that brings in Beale, marked improvement in style and tempo. We got decent money for Aribo with a year left and what we paid. It was Gérrard who would rather have had Morelos than 16M, I think Tilman is quality, as is Lawrence, for the money paid, Colak, Sakala and Matondo are all good buys in the market we shop in. Not every player will work out, especially at a club like us where the demands are so high. Think Barasic upped his game when we bought yilmaz so when he eventually got in he looked decent then got an injury. i expect Soutar, Lawrence yilmaz all to play big part in 2nd half of season.

39.) 06 Jan 2023 15:08:09
Verdant your obviously a younger fan lol cause you act as if there is no other way to play that 433 and act as if it's a new thing in football ? and as far as I've seen last few games we have been playing with two and Kent in behind with more freedom to go where he wants or 4231 so it's not the basic 433 that you stated and it was Gerrard that was 433 if you think Kent is playing same role he played under Gerrard you must be blind anyone can see he is more central with freedom to go where he wants.

40.) 06 Jan 2023 15:10:48
Verdant. and on striker role I totally agree with prso type why I also said about dykes not being good enough as he's not mobile enough although he has a couple of the qualities good in air and physical need a striker that can do something on his own at times but can also hold up play and bring others into game . it's not easy to find but ?.

41.) 06 Jan 2023 15:25:51
It's also funny how people paint the picture they want with Boyd as if not successful at rangers he won 6 trophies at rangers and was league top scorer 5 times in his time in spl i'd take that all day long Boyd could score headers left foot right foot outside box or from yard out.

Why do people think footballers have to be all things it's more about knowing players strengths and getting beat outta them in certain games not all games that's why you have a SQUAD and why best managers change things up from time to time.

42.) 06 Jan 2023 15:28:57
Could this be the surprise outgoing who john27 mentioned? Double our money on him I’d take it all day. Fear he will go down same road with us as he did Malmö… starts off unreal then barely scores for the rest of the season.

43.) 06 Jan 2023 15:31:21
Colak is a great player you can't compare him to morelos two totally diffrent players, Colak is a great guy too have in our team

Scores goals
Wins games

What do players need too do too win fans over.

Hes been great for us guys.

44.) 06 Jan 2023 15:18:04
Don't get the colak hate he was not bought to be the No1 striker and is the perfect player to bring on in spl if your on top of a team but struggling to get that goal I get he's not the same as Morelos but that's not a bad thing we are the bigger team in most spl games no reason we can't play colak and be successful simple reasons we are not doing as well injuries and defense loss of form and confidence and focus seems to be main issues. We lose goals in first 5 min and last ten min too often.

45.) 06 Jan 2023 15:44:48
Ahhh Monty switched on, however my reference is low offer not a big profit on a player

Also my reliable source Wilson Park and Beale held meetings in London this week, Beale says he met players

Key I’m told reason Morelos kamara helander Matondo and one other were In London was so they and their agents could meet Wilson.

46.) 06 Jan 2023 15:44:55
I have to back storm over Wilson here I was a bit concerned with our movements here before but some of the info that came out after gio left is in Wilson's favour so think we should give Wilson a bit of a break and wait and see how we go under Beale. The previous dof football haven't been great either and Wilson definitely better than previous ones. It's maybe down more to policy of club and his job remit.

47.) 06 Jan 2023 16:17:31
It woukd be a dshame too lose a player like colak as he's been great n done no wrong

Hope he's a gers player for a while too come cause his stats per game ratio is awsome

N the league n cup he will be a great tool in our box

Player's like him add a different dynamic too our team
Can change the game in our favour

Few more additions n we could become a lot better.

48.) 06 Jan 2023 16:27:39
Colak was pretty good against Rangers, someone posted only good against cannon fodder . interesting or just stupid?

49.) 06 Jan 2023 17:56:21
Colak pictured training for Tannadice but was on a plane to Copenhagen yesterday?

50.) 06 Jan 2023 18:45:44
Monty Colak scored 19 goals for malmo last season.

51.) 06 Jan 2023 18:45:49
Storm, we don't have money to spend, what we had is gone. On yilmaz (injured and supposedly wants away, although i'm not personally buying it) . And davies, injury prone and we paid too much if i'm honest.
Without guaranteed champions league football we don't bring enough cash in to buy players. Unless we sell. So yeh, if the money keeps coming in from regular ucl appearances then sure, ill moan like hell about the bargain basement. But we needed to keep oursels off the ffp watchlist. We can't afford salaries to compete with higher than the championship as is blows our wage model. We are a selling club, will always be until doncaster et al sort out the leagues income. Christ mid table league 2 teams get more domestic prize money than we will this year!

52.) 06 Jan 2023 19:11:50
Gofor no one is hating on colak at all. I don’t see or hear any hate for him at all. He is a great goalscorer.

53.) 07 Jan 2023 02:25:37
Ok hate is maybe the wrong word negativity .

Ryan Kent will be the next Goldson, people slagging him off and then they will realise what they are missing when he's gone. He's been out best winger the last ten years.

2 blue I'm sure Beale said there were bids in for a couple of our players, McCann obviously one but there seems to be others. Wouldn't be surprised if someone bids for Kamara, he is very good technically.
