30 May 2025 19:27:24
Im now certain Rangers have their manager/ head coach for some time
And he's already working and has been, looks like D A, but iim not ruling anyone out, including Russell Martin.
1.) 30 May 2025 19:49:45
Would be happy if it was Martin.
2.) 30 May 2025 19:50:05
I think the same Tom but I keep going back to Marco Rose for some reason.
3.) 30 May 2025 19:57:02
Tom, very possible.
These guys are thoroughly professional, and that will be evident in their dealings.
A fantastic day for the club.
I feel for the fans that didn't live to see this day.
4.) 30 May 2025 20:05:56
I would genuinely be delighted with Rose or Farioli
Ancelloti is an exciting appointment but it gives me the fear ?.
5.) 30 May 2025 20:12:26
Think it's Ancelotti and can see him bringing in a good few Real Madrid youngsters, the b team will be full of talented youngsters players hopefully we ca buy a couple of cheapness.
6.) 30 May 2025 20:50:32
Farioli or Gerrard are my preferences.
7.) 30 May 2025 21:52:35
Fraioli hasn't don't much to convince me, Ajax fans were unhappy with his style, also capitulated and threw the league away, Ancellotti is untested so who knows how that would go, we need a manager who is going to play attacking football and not just focus on slow lethargic ball retention with zero urgency and dreadful against a low block, that's been our crutch for umpteen years now.
8.) 30 May 2025 22:54:08
Farioli is the latest in a long line of snake oil salesmen. Never stays more than 5 mins at any job. Martin would be the most underwhelming appointment in the history of 'big' takeovers, would be utterly bizarre. Mind you £20m investment is pretty much the same, underwhelming.
9.) 31 May 2025 03:05:03
People moaning about the 20mill investment need to remember we had a 17m loss last financial year so that would impact any amount we have to spend because of ffp rules.
You also have to consider who the manager will be, it would be reckles for them to appoint say Ancelotti and give him what 50m to spend and he turns out like mick beale we would all be on our high horses again asking why we backed a donkey.
The 20m investment is an initial figure key word "initial"
We will just have to wait and see how it pans out. The strict ffp rules could see us getting point deductions and fines if we over spend, the aim is to bridge the minute gap and it ain't as big as the "fakeover" mob will inevitably have us believe, and win the league, winning the league when starting with an 8/ 10/ 15 point deduction to start off with would be nion impossible. So let's enjoy this "fakeover" and look forward to Natural order resuming and us returning to the pinnacle of the spl. Sorry for the long post guy.
10.) 31 May 2025 03:46:49
Marco Rose is still my preference, Ancellotti would be acceptable, just so long as it's not Gerrard or Martin.
11.) 31 May 2025 12:21:52
As long as not SG Martin ill be happy too
And on gerrard ita just i think he would get frustrated quickly and leave again.
12.) 31 May 2025 12:22:04
That and he drives wages up.
13.) 31 May 2025 13:04:45
If the investment of £20million is for players this window and we can easily add another £10 million from sales of unwanted players then that gives us a decent war chest to reboot the squad this summer.
14.) 31 May 2025 13:22:10
Mystar that's the only thing that for me excites about DA he has been at some of best clubs who we cpuld pluck some good youth.
15.) 31 May 2025 14:48:57
Gerrard would undoubtedly be a step backwards, not even in same stratosphere as others quoted, , i don't believe he's a possible,
16.) 31 May 2025 15:09:51
Its difficult to think they would believe gerard will conquer scotland and europe,
rose and terzic are quality, martin is a coach going places imo, but there could be another in place we havnt mentioned, whatever i'm sure he's already in situ.
17.) 31 May 2025 16:08:09
Initial 20 million as in the first of many lol.
18.) 31 May 2025 17:00:12
Mystar hopefully this is the case if he is chosen must be some bargains in youth teams of psg bayer real and others that we can take advantage of his links.
19.) 31 May 2025 17:02:33
Think we should be risking it on youth more often
Examples
Hamza or danilo?
Nsiala or propper?
Theres not really much downside to younger players at our level lower wage and easier to move on of it doesn't work out.
12 jan 2025 16:56:16
well done gers, a welcome break from the noise of the playground, we are 3 players away from a decent team, a string centre half, a shooting mid and a supersub striker, along with losing a few, its time to concentrate in europe and Scottish cup.
We must go forward in europe and must get into cl quals. we will, and we will probably sell igamane and raskin in summer for plenty, the rebuild has begun, ignore the children.
1.) 12 Jan 2025 17:22:25
Tom we need more than 3 mate. 2 ch an attacking midfielder a winger and another striker that's only to go into the 2st team but guys like dowell matondo dessers Lawrence all need to go to bring in money I'd also look for a keeper imo Kelly ain't the level needed.
2.) 12 Jan 2025 17:26:58
I agree Tom we're not far away but we need to win away constantly, Diomande will bring goals from cm but agree we need a goalscoring cm good for 10+ a season and very good cb, think we're fine for cf's just now, in the summer yes, we need to give Lovelace some game time.
Don't even want to post about them today, just a pure disgrace.
3.) 12 Jan 2025 17:34:45
Absolute tosh.
3 players away what games do you watch?
We are dreadful and three players will not solve it.
4.) 12 Jan 2025 17:51:26
We need a lot more than 3 players that's for sure. Tho Cortes may grow like a flower ?.
5.) 12 Jan 2025 18:03:48
We lost the 2nd half 1-0. I'm sorry guys but we need more than 3 players if we are to mount any kind of challenge next season. I agree Dessers, Dowell, Matondo etc all need to go. The strength in depth just isn't there plus Cerny won't be there next season.
6.) 12 Jan 2025 18:10:39
I'm meaning a cb and goalscoring cm that's the 2 I'd like this window, seemingly a few ooc players we're trying to get signed for the summer, we definitely need a stronger squad, once players are back fit we've got a good staring 11 a good players on our bench.
7.) 12 Jan 2025 18:17:15
Three players away from a decent team? We beat the bottom of the league side 3-1. They won the second half. Then we sell our two best players Igamane and Raskin! Exactly how do we improve whilst doing that?
8.) 12 Jan 2025 18:24:04
Need a class keeper, was a Butland fan but the more I see him the more I think we need a keeper, as for kelly he is shocking.
9.) 12 Jan 2025 18:29:00
3 players my backside. Christ, we'd need to replace the two players you've mentioned (our two best players) and Cerny (our next best player) but yeah we're 3 off turnover a 20 point deficit, Jesus Christ.
10.) 12 Jan 2025 18:33:41
Recruitment has definitely improved in the last few windows.
11.) 12 Jan 2025 18:43:56
We definitely have a goalscoring winger in vaclav cerny who'd hit double figures every season for us and it's a pity we more than likely won't be able to sign him permanently ☹️.
12.) 12 Jan 2025 18:45:51
Butland is a better keeper than kelly, i've absolutely no doubt about that? Still to see it myself but heard the man utd keeper was immense against the arsenal this afternoon ?.
13.) 12 Jan 2025 18:49:29
Twoleftfeet we hammered the team at the top of the table 10 days ago. say 5 players signed before next season.
14.) 12 Jan 2025 18:54:19
Thank goodness finally discussing football again. Think we're a long way from just 3 players away but as we only likely to get possibly 2 in I'm with Mystar CB is essential and a goalscoring mid is something we've lacked for a long time.
15.) 12 Jan 2025 18:54:51
I think what today showed more than anything was really a lack of depth. Our 1st 11 has at time played very well (I know there are injuries), but at this moment it feels a definite drop off when we bring on subs. Which is why for me at least 3 more 1st 11 players are needed. It's a squad game and our squad is a little too thin, even when all fit.
16.) 12 Jan 2025 19:03:39
Can someone explain to me whose decision it was for hagi to be marking one of st Johnstone biggest players?
17.) 12 Jan 2025 19:07:44
My Star, Celtic didn't turn up that day, wouldn't read too much into that result and in any case followed up with a draw with a weakened Dundee side? Are you serious suggesting we have turned the corner?
18.) 12 Jan 2025 19:14:21
We can't be as bad as some make out and maybe a few quality additions will make a huge difference - you don't do as well in Europe as we have been doing - currently 8th is Europa league I think - if we don't have some good players - also took them apart albeit little too late but still
Shows what we are capable of - since souttar went off injured we have struggled and with no balogun it's propped and a guy from the B team or Sterling - we need a strong CB pairing and we will notice an improvement ??????.
19.) 12 Jan 2025 19:34:58
We need in the region of 9 players before next season. It's not just the starting 11, it's about building depth, replacing the likes of Cerny and improving the overall quality. That will have to be a combination of hopefully 2 players now, 2 or 3 youth players stepping up between now and end of next season and then good transfer business in the summer. I am not confident we'll achieve all of this before next season as outgoings need to be achieved for those poor high earners who need to move on.
20.) 12 Jan 2025 19:44:01
I must have missed the rule change as well. How many points do you get for winning the second half these days?
we were cruising and once again took our foot off the pedal. first 25 minutes we were 3 up and difficult to keep going when they are so poor.
TT means adding 3 players to our first team this season now and then we would add again in summer depending on what the manager thinks we need and to replace anyone leaving. It is about finding consistency away from home; no-one really believes we will reel in a 20 point deficit.
21.) 12 Jan 2025 19:49:52
The won the second half? That's not a real thing.
22.) 12 Jan 2025 20:05:12
Lucky the game is 2 half's then and a think danelio is the super sub striker could use a third choice as dessers be away.
23.) 12 Jan 2025 20:12:42
we have a decent first 11 but our squad isn't strong enough once we take some of that 11 off we struggle as the subs are poor, yes we lost the second half 1-0 but the game lasts 90 mins and we won the game 3-1 plus all that went on in second half it no wonder it affected the players this idiots did nothing to help the team, we need players in and those players need to be starters or good enough to impact games.
24.) 12 Jan 2025 20:14:17
2 left feet. i'm surprised I was at the game and celtic were definitely there. they also definitely seemed to be trying until 5 minutes in when our press and counter-attacks had them on back foot. also in second half they had a spell where they were on top. however you keep believing that if it makes you feel better.
25.) 12 jan 2025 20:26:29
yet again reading the post isn't your strongest point
we need to concentrate this season on europe and cl qualification
nobody said we only need 3 players m, this january windo2, we ain't going to get mor3 than three are we?
for clarification, , we need to get to cl, its a must, we are imo 3 players we need as back up
a centre half
a mid who shoots and gets goals
and a striker who can come off the bench and get goaks when were struggling, , honestly its like some people just can't read properly, nobody said ir would be daft enough to say we only need 3 and were sorted, this league is gone, but rangers must get into cl qualifiers,
star, danillo doesn't and never will score a lot of goals
i have very little hope in lovelace, and iggy can't carry rangers himself, he isn't a poacher and could be gone at any minute, these are football facts
rangers right now need a ch, mid and poacher, to ensure we get into those champions league qualifiers.
26.) 12 jan 2025 20:29:05
dado, i get your hate i really do, but at least try to understand the post first mate eh
champions league qualification is paramount, nobody saud we only need 3 players
but we need back up because anything happens to iggy and we don't score goals
anything happens to anymore defenders and we lose goals
that explain anything to you ir you want to carry on with your hate?
27.) 12 jan 2025 20:32:27
thats at least 4 people who just didn't get it
we ain't getting any more than three in january
we must get champions league chance
, i never said we need three to be world champions, i said we need three now to get this season done n dusted,
28.) 12 jan 2025 20:38:26
monty, its about getting to next season mate, qualifying, we, at this moment in time are one or two injuries from utter disaster, that's what i mean by three players,
next t week let's say ie
soutters injury worse than feared
igga gets sold/ injured
raskin sold/ injured
dio sold/ injured
dessers gies
lovelace injured/ no good
anyone getting my point yet,
29.) 12 Jan 2025 20:38:46
To be fair to rangers TwoLeftFeet, it was a bit of both IE. rangers were superb and clement got his tactics bang on and having bajrami squeezing mcgregor stopped their playmaker and as i've said before, you stop mcgregor and you go a long way to getting a result against them ?Yes celtic had a few players below par but i have to give my club credit and we were superb against them and it most definitely should have been a lot more than 3-0?We allowed them a lot of possession in their own half and a few yards into our half and then hit them with the press, which worked a treat ???So common TwoLeftFeet, give rangers some credit mate ?.
30.) 12 Jan 2025 21:11:51
So play brilliantly against Celtic then canny beat a depleted Dundee side?
31.) 12 Jan 2025 21:18:13
I don't understand the pile on.
I got what you mean Tom. We need 3 just get through this season. And I agree with that.
As you state, a few bad injuries or players leaving and we are caught short it could end our season in a bad way. And have a knock effect next season.
It's absolutely paramount to make the Champs league qualies and give the fans something to cheer by hopefully lifting the Scottish cup.
32.) 12 Jan 2025 21:59:25
We ain't getting 3 in January either maybe you missed what PS said TT eh? He said one two max so that means less than 3 hope that helps ?.
33.) 12 Jan 2025 22:53:15
Twoleftfeet, lol 100% nonsense, never turned up ??? never turned up because Rangers played them off the park, should have beat them in the cup final as well, 100% tims patter ?.
34.) 12 Jan 2025 22:56:56
Twoleftfeet that just about as bad as Diomande being an awful player cc.
35.) 12 Jan 2025 23:05:19
I'm sure Tom was only talking about this window, I was, then after ows post, I felt i needed to explain I was only talking about a cb and goalscoring this window.
Tom i like Danilo just behind the striker mate.
36.) 13 Jan 2025 01:18:56
Raskin, igamane and Cerny are our best player and one is on loan , Jefte could turn into a really good player and if Soapy was injury free would be Scotlands best CB, every other player could be transferred out and we would gamble on the replacement being better.
37.) 13 Jan 2025 11:51:27
Storm I believe we will see three, reason I say this is ps not daft, if he said 3/ 4 incoming and we infact only get two or one fans will slaughter him
On Friday we had a meting recruitment team Stewart clement kloppen, they have i'd three positions to try and fill, ch, midfield and winger and have determined targets for each position numbered 1-3, now kloppen role to get whoever in
Also storm do u think pre contract count in numbers for January if we don't bring in right away
Also told yesterday that, we. Have received further offers dessers Lawrence Matondo Dowell and enquiry re yilmaz but no offer.
Also chatter re propper returning to Holland, twente
This does not include Stevens Lowry Devine Budanaukas
Looks like Lovelace and Curtis going out on loan.
38.) 13 Jan 2025 12:48:25
Coopersdad! Possibly some of the most over dramatic cr@p I've read on here for some time.
39.) 13 Jan 2025 15:05:29
Brilliant John, cheers for the update.
I would imagine we will see at least one sign before the end of this week. I won't ask you to name names John because I know that people love to point out when reliable posters are wrong but if you do know some names, do they excite you to any degree?
14 may 2024 19:16:25
so, sky says soutter out with a ' knock', strange that.
1.) 14 May 2024 20:46:47
Maybe a knock to the jaw Tom?
2.) 14 may 2024 21:13:08
haha, possibly bgate, certainly not a hammy as some said,
omg, why can't dessers just hit the ball.
3.) 14 may 2024 21:28:48
must say scotty wright definitely has a lovely finish in him, always capable of a goal, that was a lovely finish.
4.) 14 May 2024 21:33:37
Sky also said he wasn’t injured in sat and were wrong ?.
5.) 14 may 2024 21:39:13
and i'm going to give Cantwell the benefit there, the way he struck that ball, the power behind it
i think he fancied the keeper was leaving a big gap, get it over him with some curl and pace, yes he meant it, unless he says he didn't.
6.) 14 May 2024 21:48:23
Nice goal tom but it was his first league goal for 2 years. So always capable isn't really the right wording mate ?.
7.) 14 May 2024 22:02:14
Tomthumb. his first league goals in 2 years but he is always capable of a goal?
8.) 14 May 2024 22:09:31
always capable of a goal but that's his first and second in 2 years in the league. Not good enough but good tonight ??.
9.) 14 may 2024 22:16:39
yes always capable is correct, because he is and always has been capable of scoring, whether he's done it or not is another debate, how much has he played compared to kent fir example, far better goal record, , just lacks confidence i think, maybe hasn't ever believed he could be a rangers player, but he finishes very well when given the chance.
10.) 14 may 2024 22:24:35
erm, yes m he's always capable of scoring, am i in another universe tonight
wright has been capable of scoring goals his entire career, or are you saying he only became capable today, he's as capable of scoring goals as i am capable if putting the kettle on
has capable got a new meaning now?
11.) 14 may 2024 22:26:17
hiwzat, think maybe a rethink of the word capable is needed mate, if he scored in the scottish cup final a few years ago he must have been capable back then too eh.
12.) 14 may 2024 22:33:30
irv, i think a couple of guys dint know what capable means. i didn't say likely, probably or usually, i said capable,
13.) 14 may 2024 23:03:47
id better get a few hours sleep before i'm incapable, , have a great cup final day all.
14.) 15 May 2024 10:35:37
See souttar and lundstrum sitting next to each other at the game last night.
15.) 15 May 2024 11:15:36
TT you didn't say likely, probably or usually. you said “always capable of a goal” ? Which would implicate you’d expect goals. As i said, good tonight but need better overall.
16.) 15 May 2024 15:07:59
Banging your head off a wall, Tom. My view is the lad is a good player and very capable. Seems to have niggling injuries that hamper his progress. Definitely a confidence player which has probably been knocked up and down the place, hence the inconsistency. And you were right, his second goal was a brilliant finish.
17.) 15 May 2024 15:57:13
The guy is rank rotten and just because he scored 2 goals last night doesn’t change the fact he has never been good enough for rangers.
18.) 15 May 2024 17:42:17
Not rank Rotten at all. The guy has skill you could only dream about, mate ?.
19.) 15 May 2024 22:21:21
Storm you are very angry a lot, but in this case i'm fully behind you ?.
20.) 16 May 2024 09:21:53
Scott wright has everything in his locker - pace, skill, shooting ability however he doesn't have a football brain and consistently chooses the wrong option on the park. Unfortunately i don't think you can train that into him do ultimately he's not good enough for us.
13 may 2024 20:26:44
i might be completely wrong here, it's very late, but i was told today from a coach friend that lundstrum had smacked soutter at half time.
As far as i know he was clear, lundstrum hit soutter. i know sky said there was no injury reason for soutter being removed, that intrigued me because they're usually correct.
Anyone heard anything similar?
1.) 13 May 2024 21:19:16
Nope, but I'm sure John said it was a hammy as souttar pulled up 30 mins in, if I mind correctly.
2.) 13 May 2024 21:38:56
I don't know if this is true or not but I did notice I don't know if anyone else seen it as soon as he scored the og he clearly looks at someone and I'm sure he said that was your fault or something along those lines.
3.) 13 May 2024 21:51:53
Souttar pulled his hamstring on 25th minute that’s why he came off. Coming from Souttar himself.
4.) 13 May 2024 21:57:29
Hopefully this is not true Tom but if it is then Lundstram should be bags packed and out of Ibrox for good. Don't wait until the end of the season!
5.) 13 May 2024 20:44:49
What a rumour mate, I hope there’s no truth in it, but honestly, I couldn’t say it’s unrealistic. Shocker if true.
6.) 13 May 2024 21:07:00
Must've been some smack hex but tomorrow maybe sat so I don't buy that.
7.) 13 May 2024 21:09:13
Should have been the other way about for his pathetic performance.
8.) 13 May 2024 21:14:00
If that's true, he showed more fight in the dressing room than he did on the park, the absolute loser. However, it's probably another Silva and Rae type story.
9.) 13 May 2024 23:16:12
Know souttars family personally and that’s not true at all. He was struggling after 30 minutes if you watch the game back can also see him holding his leg around then.
10.) 14 may 2024 00:14:50
listen mate, the fact you know soutters family is neither here nor there, i never said it happened or didn't happen
I've spoke to another friend who says there's definitely some truth to this,
i spoke with a pal this morning and he said he believed lundstrum had smacked soutter, that diesnt mean anything else did or didn't happen, but now, when i thought aboit it, ian crocker the sky commentator made a point of saying soutter being removed was not through injury, no way in the world would you take off your only fit centre half if you didn't need to, or maybe just another pc bloomer, who knows, if soutters hammy gone he definitely won't play again this season,
11.) 14 May 2024 07:35:54
I’ll ask him tonight lol. In players lounge.
12.) 14 May 2024 08:41:52
Mate I mentioned that a couple of times. Probably pointing to Tav. ?.
13.) 14 May 2024 08:50:27
I did see him pointing to someone after the OG but I thought it was someone in the middle of the park that didn't track back, that said if lundstrum doesn't touch it, Davies clears it easily.
14.) 14 may 2024 09:01:53
so, he pulled up with a hamstring in 25 minutes, played another 20 minutes
and back tomorrow, really, I've heard again that tge dressing room was not happy with lundstrum, i thought instantly he knew he was giving the var no other option but a red card and he had lots of time to think about what he was doing, some people actually beli3ve a pro footballer wouldn't do that, oh yes they would,
15.) 14 May 2024 09:49:57
If he pulled his hamstring on 25 or 30 minutes there is no way he would have lasted till half time. IT may have been tight but no way did he pull it.
16.) 14 May 2024 09:54:57
Even if souttar pulled a hamstring theirs every chance lundstram still smacked him.
17.) 14 May 2024 10:39:39
Lunny was pointing at the ref who kinda got in his way tracking back, he should have clattered into the ref "by accident" then game would have been stopped.
18.) 14 may 2024 10:39:57
summat happened bgate, might be a nothing incident, plenty half time fights go on
just that my pal said he threw a punch, I've no right to say it did or didn't happen, my unhappiness stens from the utterly ridiculous red card, i still have real issues with that, 8 believe he knew exactly what he was doing, anyway it seems soutte4 is out too now, interesting team tonight, last game for me to watch at home before back to hrvastska.
19.) 14 May 2024 11:02:31
Tom, what are you on about - back tomorrow? He’s still injured, unless souttar is lying he pulled his hamstring.
20.) 14 May 2024 11:04:58
TT, just because you said it’s true, doesn’t make it true. Why you having a go at a guy that knows the souttar family?
21.) 14 May 2024 11:21:14
Bgate aye true. Probably handbags at dawn. Tom spot on. I’m not so sure but agree footballers will try to get out training and games. Maybe he’s thinking I can’t be bothered with this rubbish, have some. It’s been a part of football since I was a wean. Didn’t get sent off though. ?? Remember rumours of Boyd playing a sicky to get out of training?.
22.) 14 May 2024 11:53:04
The more mental the rumour the more fun posters have trying to confirm or deny it even happened.
23.) 14 May 2024 12:19:08
The game has gone soft! Back in the Souness era and before that tackle would have been perfectly legal. I'm not a Lundstram fan but the game will soon be such that you are not even allowed to tackle.
24.) 14 May 2024 14:17:30
Not sure whether the row happened or not, but I do know both need to go this summer.
25.) 14 May 2024 14:27:51
Exactly MPH and that’s what makes it even better reading from where we are sitting ?
Was about to get the popcorn out ?.
26.) 14 May 2024 14:36:21
Its almost a none contact sport already.
(unless your a Celtic player then you can stamp on opponents all you want lol)
Any player that feels contact in the box then falls down in a dramatic fashion. Just look at Oreilly at the weekend. (Silva is included in this) .
27.) 14 may 2024 14:53:10
warrior, have another few attempts at reading my words
concentrate on the parts that say “ I've no idea if its true, and
i don't have the right to say its true or not, and that i was only told by someone else,
does that make things a bit easier fir you now
bb, absolutely correct, I've seen full scale square goes at half time and after the game, even a fight arranged for the canal bank along the road from kilbowie one day, the good ol days.
28.) 14 may 2024 14:56:26
and storm, stop attempting to turn another poster against me, you have much previous for that, i'll refer you again to the part that says "i have no idea if true".
now ask yourself if you were simply having a go at me for posting something a pal told me.
29.) 14 May 2024 15:22:40
Please stop telling people off for having a go when you do that exact same thing.
30.) 14 May 2024 16:38:09
How many last games is that you’ve been at now in the past 2 seasons?
31.) 14 May 2024 16:52:38
Nonsense. Already confirmed by club and souttar it was an injury. Sky did The usual at ht, didn't have the correct info so made stuff up regarding it being tactical.
32.) 14 may 2024 18:28:13
have you understood the post yet?
captain tav, i have the bengal lancer, i havn't been able to attend a game for 2 years now, i'm going back to Croatia for sunshine and care, but many thanks for your concerns, my name has always been an attraction to you, i will see my last game at my home here this season, i hope you understand, i hope you have a healthy and happy life but i would much prefer you stop following everything i say, thanks.
33.) 14 May 2024 20:08:47
Sorry to hear that Tom, wishing you all the best bud?.
34.) 15 May 2024 06:09:37
TT12 your posts and attitude do my head in but I wouldn’t wish ill of anyone. Fingers crossed you are ok.
20 jun 2023 02:21:54
said a few weeks back i was told rangers will pay big money for the correct striker to win back the league, i'm told again its in the pipeline.
1.) 20 Jun 2023 03:35:40
It does not guarantee league win.
If we think Celtic will stand still we are mental they must have promised Rodgers a substantial transfer budget to get him back hopefully he blows it on duds ?.
2.) 20 Jun 2023 04:21:18
Celtic aren’t even a concern in the short-term. Rangers have Champions League qualifiers coming up after the summer and the team needs to be strengthened and ready to overcome those. If Rangers can qualify for the Champions League it’s another £25m guaranteed. Those are the biggest games of the season financially. If we are going to qualify again we must strengthen that front line.
3.) 20 Jun 2023 05:05:26
TT12,any idea who the striker is we're going to spend the big money on mate ?.
4.) 20 Jun 2023 06:12:21
Hagi wright coops?
5.) 20 jun 2023 06:25:05
firstly, , nobody said anybody will guarantee the league, and there probably isn't a football fan in the uk who thinks celtic will “ stand still “, where do you get these statements from mate?
no coops, I've no idea who is targetted, but i did post a couple of months ago that they accepted a large outlay was needed up front in particular, i'm told again ladt night that still stands, possibly more than one larger outlay, the club knows the firward line has been awful really and accepts we don't win the league without a star striker,
6.) 20 Jun 2023 06:26:17
Haji Wright sws.
7.) 20 Jun 2023 06:39:33
Hope it the boy from Utrecht Tom, much better than Dessers?.
8.) 20 Jun 2023 06:52:46
Much better with 39 goals in three seasons ok.
9.) 20 Jun 2023 07:07:02
Tt you did indeed. I just hope its money well spent.
10.) 20 Jun 2023 07:10:29
Tasos Douvikas has played 139 games scored 42 goals since 2017,never seen this lad but he wasn't even on the bench for Greece last night, would personally prefer Haji Wright if we spend upwards from 7m, told Haji Wright and Dessers could both be signed this summer.
11.) 20 Jun 2023 07:50:56
Douvikas is only 23 tho beale. Dessers touching 30.
12.) 20 Jun 2023 07:57:11
Dessers is only 28 paul i would definitely prefer Haji Wright, seems he has had one good season.
13.) 20 Jun 2023 08:51:36
Verdant, that comment about Celtic not even being a concern in the short term could not be more incorrect. The Champions League is a bonus, anything outside of the league is a bonus. We simply cannot allow them to run away with another league title, and with Brenda being promised riches to guide them, along with cash from the sales of whoever Angie wants, they will be a prescient danger as always. They are the prime concern this season, we must do everything to overcome them.
14.) 20 Jun 2023 08:59:30
Because he compared Dessers to el coo he wants Dessers, the Utrecht boy is far better.
15.) 20 Jun 2023 09:36:23
What are you slavering on about now coldo? he has 42 goals in 139 games, thought you didn't want a 1 in 3 cf? or even less, if i could pick my two they would be Maja and Haji Wright, Haji can play any forward position.
16.) 20 Jun 2023 09:36:52
Many times you seen him play coldo?
17.) 20 Jun 2023 10:30:54
@DoTheBouncy - The Champions League is not just a bonus, it’s necessary for the clubs financial health and long-term sustainability. The only way clubs like Rangers and Celtic can sustain in a small country with such a poor TV deal, and so little domestic prize money, is regular European football and player sales. Rangers are falling well short of the mark when it comes to player sales so we NEED Europe. Celtic already have guaranteed Champions League football whereas Rangers don’t. If Rangers cannot match Celtic off the pitch we will not be able to compete with them on it as they will simply outspend us at every turn.
The most important games of the season come at the very start and those are the Champions League qualifiers. Rangers need to be ready to go from the very outset and I’m certain that’s why Rangers are pushing to get so much business done early.
18.) 20 Jun 2023 10:35:50
Yeah that's what i said he be 29 in few months. So touching 30. Douvikas is a youg striker. Had an unreal season last year in his first proper season. Hard to count the games in greece when he was 19/ 20 and only getting sub apperances. he's going to be a fantastic player.
19.) 20 Jun 2023 11:28:47
So put this into perspective for me Verdant, would you accept seven horse whippings again in the Champions League but an improved bank balance while Celtic wrap up the league title yet again? I know what I would prefer, and it's certainly not an embarrassing run in the champions league that's a certainty! I think most fans would agree with that to be honest.
20.) 20 Jun 2023 11:32:25
Be 29 about Christian time paul, I've never seen Douvikas play, my own personally opinion would be Wright.
21.) 20 Jun 2023 11:33:58
Coldo has clearly seen him play if he is saying he is better than Dessers, but saying that probably never seen him.
22.) 20 Jun 2023 11:41:33
Hearing more and more saying we're very much in the race to sign lyndon dykes ?You heard anything John27 or anyone else for this matter regarding this ?.
23.) 20 Jun 2023 11:52:45
2 months ago nobody heard of Douvikas, Dessers, Haji Wright and now everyone is an expert based on YouTube highlights and Wikipedia. The modern world of fake knowledge.
24.) 20 Jun 2023 11:56:20
Do the bouncy there is no reason for us to get hammerimgs like that in the CL tho. We can compete, no reason why we cant. Only have to look at teams we have previously beaten and played last season. Us getting pumped in the CL didn't give celtic the title.
25.) 20 Jun 2023 12:14:23
@DoTheBouncy - What makes you think Champions League involvement automatically hands Celtic the league title? Celtic will be involved in next season Champions League, so does that mean we’ll win the domestic league by default? Make it make sense ?♂️?
Celtic can spend big this summer because they have guaranteed Champions League football and, in effect, have already banked on that £25m. Ranges NEED to get that prize money coming in as well. Our performances in the Champions League group stages are almost an irrelevance as it’s nothing more than a cash grab. Once in the group stages anything we get beyond that (prize money for a group stage result or parachuting into the Europa League) is a bonus. More money means better players, better players means better performances, better performances means more chance of winning things - It’s that simple.
A club the size of Rangers NEEDS regular European football and a successful p, Ayer trading model in order to sustain and thrive. The Champions League qualifiers are the biggest games of the season financially. A domestic league win earns £3m, a domestic cup win earned £300k, the Champions League brings in tens of millions.
I’m certain Beale will be emphasising the importance of these Champions League games in just a few weeks. If Rangers do make it in they might even be able to bring in another player or two, of a higher standard than we could otherwise afford, and that could make all the difference domestically. It was very strange when GVB wasn’t backed more after last summers Champions League qualification. Hopefully the board have learned their lesson.
26.) 20 Jun 2023 12:14:50
X-78 had heard of dessers to be fair.
27.) 20 Jun 2023 12:22:22
?????
Be funny if we did sign him. We would all need to emigrate for a year!
28.) 20 Jun 2023 12:42:12
Haven`t seen the other names mentioned, play so would have to trust Beales judgement on them . I have seen Dykes lots of times and wouldn`t want him anywhere near Rangers. He is just not the type of striker we need at the club and doesn`t score anything like the amount of goals we want from our main striker.
29.) 20 Jun 2023 12:45:32
I know I’m probably in the minority here but dykes is exactly what rangers need upfront.
30.) 20 Jun 2023 12:54:51
Would definitely prefer Dykes than Colak he clearly knows how to play like our manager wants.
31.) 20 Jun 2023 12:56:19
Lyndon dykes deal practically done ?.
32.) 20 Jun 2023 13:11:54
Makes perfect sense, Tom, we need real quality up front. A marquee signing plus big Dykes would be brilliant imo. The big guy is a handful and will ragdoll opponents for fun up here. I've been on the fence a bit about Dykes but he definitely has something different about him so it's a thumbs up from me ?.
33.) 20 Jun 2023 13:23:38
Wouldn't mind that sws rather him than Colak as said earlier.
34.) 20 Jun 2023 13:33:07
I fecking hope not, SWS?.
35.) 20 Jun 2023 13:33:39
Hopefully not. We don't need any more strikers who doesn't score goals. 29 league goals ( 6 pens) in 114 games for qpr. Just don't rate him. Maybe as 3rd choice throw on last 10 mins as battering ram and go 2 up top. that's about it he's not good enough to lead the line.
36.) 20 Jun 2023 13:37:21
Would love a punt on dykes he would be brillant for us.
37.) 20 Jun 2023 13:41:06
Today on the Rangers Review they said a move for Dykes can be “comprehensively ruled out”. They pay the annual £25k fee to get press access to Beale and the Ibrox staff. So they’re a reliable source most of the time.
38.) 20 Jun 2023 14:11:59
Dykes would very much suit us, Back to goal, great hold up, his lay offs are fantastic. He fits our system and proven goal scorer in our league.
However there's better and I doubt we are after him.
39.) 20 Jun 2023 15:48:44
Yip I have seen him play? far better than dessers and dykes.
40.) 20 Jun 2023 15:55:20
The champions league is huge for us this season as we need the CO efficients to get in that club world cup which is a massive pay day for all involved so stating the league is a priority over that is bonkers thinking. We could win the league 10x and no earn that kind of cash.
41.) 20 Jun 2023 16:13:56
You watching Dutch football now coldo you never said earlier.
42.) 20 Jun 2023 16:40:59
Honestly think our main problems were at the back last season, you only need to look at how many we conceeded compared to league winning season.
We have decent strikers problem is we carry too many injury prone players which when our main back ups get injured leaves us short.
(Roofe)
No doubting his talent but I think he been one of the most injury rone players we've had in recent years.
43.) 20 Jun 2023 16:50:22
Why would I say? Like most on here I watch most leagues, international etc?.
44.) 21 Jun 2023 19:05:58
You tube.

21 May 2025 15:12:30
i would bite the hand off anyone who offered me Russell Martin, who will go on to big things.
1.) 21 May 2025 15:28:47
Welcome back Tom, better choice than Gerrard not fussy on him either though, think our next manager will be Italian.
2.) 21 May 2025 15:36:11
Welcome back TT.
Highly rated in England before it went tits up in the EPL.
Which to be fair has caught a lot of decent managers out.
3.) 21 May 2025 15:38:05
Who's yer dough on Tom as the bookies have stopped taking bets on 57 different candidates over the past month?
4.) 21 May 2025 15:39:11
So would i tom, good to have you back, sir.
5.) 21 May 2025 16:05:28
Hope all good with u and fami TT.
6.) 21 May 2025 16:13:30
Tom, it's good to see you posting again.
7.) 21 May 2025 18:04:34
Good to see you back but disagree with Martin.
8.) 21 May 2025 19:13:19
Welcome back, Tom. Stevie G for ne pal.
9.) 21 May 2025 20:24:49
Thank you lads, i'm grateful for the kind words.
i like martin and i'm intrigued by ancellotti, and i suspect there's someone else in the background, 3-2 both teams tonight.
10.) 22 May 2025 02:54:16
Gattuso the dog of war.
21 apr 2025 01:38:06
no matter who is considered or asked to be the next gaffer, some people appear to be under the impression José Mourinho earns 200k per week in turkey.
that's 800k per month, that's 10.5 million per year
utter claptrap but some believe the turks pay him that, for what exactly, going out of Europa to a Scottish team, this is Fenerbahce not Real Madrid and Barcelona combined fgs.
1.) 21 Apr 2025 04:12:34
Tom, Jose earns 173k weekly in Turkey or 9m yearly if you like.
2.) 21 Apr 2025 07:17:20
"José Mourinho's move to Fenerbahçe came with a contract worth £9.2 million per year, translating to a weekly wage of £177,000."
Various sites carrying his contract details, easily searchable, passage above is from one, there are plenty more. Whether true or not who knows.
3.) 21 Apr 2025 07:22:21
Easily searchable Star its on various sites bud, but are they all right?.
4.) 21 Apr 2025 07:42:41
Regardless of salary, I don't think Jose is the right person for the job.
I think we'll be looking more along the lines of Brighton, i. e. young and up and coming managers that fit in to the model of the club and have a potential sell on value.
5.) 21 Apr 2025 07:46:40
So Tom if you think he doesn't earn that tell us what he does earn and where you know that from. Just because it doesn't match your OPINION doesn't make it claptrap. personally I don't know what he earns and in fact nor do I care.
6.) 21 Apr 2025 08:26:40
I read online €11 million.
The Turks do pay quite large salaries.
Kent was reportedly on €33k a week.
7.) 21 Apr 2025 08:06:47
Technically, both of you are correct 10.5 million euros which is 9million pounds.
8.) 21 Apr 2025 08:18:25
football managers pay article
This explains what Jose is paid, with quotes from his club president. It also gives details of other managers pay, including that Gerrard was on more than Mourinho in Saudi.
I find it obscene on two levels, firstly the amount these guys are paid and secondly that it is public knowledge.
9.) 21 Apr 2025 09:59:28
EHL
So possibly a Marco Rose? ?.
10.) 21 Apr 2025 10:08:54
The Stig, he would certainly fit that description - so here's hoping as it would be a serious statement of intent.
I wonder if he's got any connections to the new DoSO though?
11.) 21 Apr 2025 10:14:41
EHL, John has already stated the new manager has already met with our new sporting director mate, so they've both already been chosen and i've no reason to doubt John with his info ?.
12.) 21 Apr 2025 10:20:19
I read TT post wrong. ?
TT the Turks do pay him that mate.
13.) 21 Apr 2025 11:18:17
That's quite a bad habit you have storm.
14.) 21 Apr 2025 12:35:56
Jose has fell out of love with football that much is obvious he is a paycheck manager and last thing we need
Although i do like him.
15.) 21 apr 2025 16:52:51
, if so i'm wrong,
angus ignore me
the rest if yiur correct i'm wrong, i don't believe he earns that but if that's what it says then heyho, its a real shock to me, fenerbache must be very rich.
16.) 21 Apr 2025 18:56:21
Tt12 the top 4 clubs in Turkey are over £1B in debt with £300M owed to banks and most of rest in transfer fees and salaries.
13 apr 2025 13:59:39
ho ho ho
brilliant performance, full of fight, skill, passion, endeavour and lots of courage
sounds good innit, get it rite up ye.
1.) 13 Apr 2025 14:34:19
Barry is doing alright
These players make it hard for themselves but. With the changes we made most would been happy with a draw before hand.
Onto Thursday now.
2.) 13 Apr 2025 15:00:19
Honestly don't know what game you watched Rangers were terrible it was again individual brilliance that we relied on team play was non existent
Just cause we stole a draw doesn't make the performance food
Ooft.
3.) 13 Apr 2025 15:03:19
Stevieg i honestly wasn't bothered about result ferguson went for most of the team i wanted to start so could rest for europe only igamane started think that also tipped his hand for bilbao 100% dessers starts? igamnae is clearly the more clinical better players around him the boy becomes a star and sorry but that's not with the likes of diomande bajrami who are just not suited to our game at all.
4.) 13 Apr 2025 15:09:45
Totally agree with your points re dio and Bajrami, believe dio to be a very good player though who would excel in another league. He has shown in European and old firm games his class.
Maybe igamane can play his way in for the last side of attack on Thursday. Maybe that's hagis position though.
5.) 13 Apr 2025 15:15:06
Hagi I maybe love you but don't tell anyone please.
6.) 13 Apr 2025 15:19:23
Forever That clinical remark is your opinion and not a fact. see below he is clearly not the most clinical striker despite what you think. I will wait for the excuses of how he is played wide, Dessers goals are all meaning less. none of that matters clinical is scoring with more of the shots you have and that is still clearly Dessers.
Igamane: 11 goals to 80 shots (13.2% accuracy) with 31 on target (38.75%) started 2 more matches than Dessers
Dessers: 12 goals to 66 shots (18.2% accurate) with 32 on target (48.75%)
7.) 13 Apr 2025 15:26:12
Diomande made a difference when he came on today.
8.) 13 Apr 2025 16:25:04
Diomande did make a big difference
So did dessers
And hagi started and finished that goal.
9.) 13 apr 2025 17:51:25
its called humour mate,
ooft.
10.) 13 Apr 2025 18:07:47
Angus only because igamane actually shoots feom outside the box
Lol have you seen dessers trying to shoot from distance lol its hilarious ?
Oh and did you see the finnish from igamane today
Also igame playing deeper and not playing as a striker it was all over tv that when igamane plays in the dessers main man role more clinical
The arrgument was in the forward role not overall for this season.
11.) 13 Apr 2025 18:09:33
Ill tell you right now dessers has had more than 66 shots he had 12 in that game before alone.
12.) 13 Apr 2025 18:46:01
So forever think about the stats fgs. they include every shot and Dessers has more shots on target per 90 despite his inability to shoot from distance. so Igamane's shots from distance would be in his 80 so he obviously misses a good few.
Dessers this year has 17 goals and 5 assists from 31 games' that is 71% of games he has a goal involvement. Igamane has played CF 24 times with 9 goals and 3 assists which is 50% of games he has a goal involvement. so the stats disprove that theory about CF position.
Yes I saw the finish but did you see Dessers against Man Utd and a few others. oh and he did have 12 chances but do you remember he still got the winner in that game.
I don't dislike Igamane just that your comment on him being more clinical is statistically wrong. but please keep digging as it is filling in my Sunday until dinner.
13 apr 2025 13:11:49
that's exactly where iggy needs to be playing
right thru the middle causing mayhem.
1.) 13 Apr 2025 13:24:44
Correct TT12 ?.
2.) 13 Apr 2025 14:49:10
Also 1 chance 1 goal dessers through on goal hits the post.
3.) 13 Apr 2025 15:27:47
In the league Iggy 11 goals from 80 shots; Dessers 12 goals from 66 shots. funny how different players are seen by the same fans despite the facts showing otherwise.
Personally thought the goal was good but to say he caused mayhem is a little hyperbolic.
4.) 13 Apr 2025 16:57:21
One Walter that it all dessers fault, he has a better record than igamane and Danilo.
13 apr 2025 13:02:55
give me lawrence shankland any day of the week before mcauslsnd propper nsiala fernandes and esp danilo, a massive waste of money, never saw the attraction and still don't, Rangers need to start winning in scotland before we can play around with expensive sand dancers, and that's what danilo is, imo.
1.) 13 Apr 2025 13:34:12
That doesn't make sense the only player that can play shanklands position is danilo.
2.) 13 apr 2025 14:10:19
yes, it wasn't literal mate, it was a comment of how poor some if our players are
are you telling me big lawrence isn't a centre half, ? ,
damnnnn.
3.) 13 Apr 2025 14:30:54
Tom, Danilo is a far better footballer than Shankland fgs man.
4.) 13 Apr 2025 14:32:41
Fernandes first start, correct East Belfast zero sense in my eyes comparing a cf with a handful of different positions.
5.) 13 apr 2025 15:15:37
and that wouldn't only stand for shanks, there's 20 players in scotl@nd i want before danillo, he is niwhere close to top rank and will dissappear back to holland or some other lower level team, he hasn't got what it takes to be real quality, ,
6.) 13 Apr 2025 15:31:05
TT it was literal fgs. you said that you would rather have Shankland than any of the others. when it is pointed out that Danilo is the only CF you do as usual and paint a different point. and in other threads you say how it was a great performance from those exact same players who you don't rate. at least try to be consistent.
7.) 13 Apr 2025 16:31:06
I'd rather have shankland in my Rangers squad than Danilo. All day long.
31 May 2025 16:13:03
As some will know I've been behind a russell martin head coach from the start,
i just believe he would be a great young gaffer at ibrox, , he has many attributes and i would be excited at what he can do with good players, ancelloti us also an exciting but also scary option.
31 May 2025 16:58:57
Im a happy man now.
31 May 2025 15:09:51
Its difficult to think they would believe gerard will conquer scotland and europe,
rose and terzic are quality, martin is a coach going places imo, but there could be another in place we havnt mentioned, whatever i'm sure he's already in situ.
30 May 2025 21:54:39
Me too, i don't know fraser but one of my girls is a very highflying commercial lawyer, she gas had dealings with fraser along with a few other Rangers people, she speaks very highly of the man.
