Nobody. It was a big match in that area and, like all big clubs, we had a scouting presence.

Andy Cargill, Sturridge left Man City 3 weeks before Allen was appointed.

Ludicrous when our fans call a young man from the English third tier who is still learning his trade, according to our manager, a 'marquee' signing. Nothing like putting pressure on the lad, eh?

He's going nowhere, it's media propaganda trying to unsettle us at Ibrox and sowing doubt into the minds of potential signings. We've been on the front foot for a few months now, proactive instead of hanging on to their tails, and they don't like it. I thought most fans would realise that right away and not give these ridiculous fantasies any credence at all.

Aye and what player or agent in their right mind would sign a contract to that effect?

I'm sure he won't.

Makes you think absolutely nothing except that some players don't travel well.

Aribo is not a marquee signing but he doesn't have to be. The manager described him perfectly when he said the lad had a lot still to learn but looked forward to helping him improve. He's obviously a good player and a bright prospect considering the interest he attracted. Docherty was never really good enough for us and Rossiter, sadly, suffered so much through injury that he will not make it to the very top now, although I always had high hopes for him.

I think we will give Morelos until the winter break to prove he has matured, and if he has we will be the winners. I'm generally very happy with the squad and I will be delighted if we get Kent back again and my tip to break through at some time in the new season is Lewis Mayo, who will save us money on a fourth centre half. Another striker, a poacher type, would see us hopefully carry the season and take our 55th title. In Stevie I trust.
