Goldson will he walk free in the summer. how can the board afford that, 7million give him the contract he wants then sell in the summer. no brainer.

If Goldson doesn't want to sign a new contract, then fine, he is free to join another club and Rangers will bring in someone else on Goldson's current wage or less. Goldson is not the player he thinks he is, or that some posters think he is. Goldson still has weaknesses in his game which by now should have been resolved ie his positional sense and his ability to read the game in front of him, as an example Hibs goal on Sunday.

I would not mind if goldson went the amount of errors he makes and try’s to blame on other players makes me angry at him never mind his teammates not saying he makes any more errors than anyone else just he always blames another player.

It happens everywhere people leave for free we sign players too remember how angry Bowyer was at Aribo leaving for buttons. Goldson was outstanding last season. Before that and so far this season he’s been good at times and all at sea on occasions. He’s a decent player who brings consistency to our back 4 and is very rarely injured. I would love for him to either stay or sign a new deal and be sold for profit but whatever happens he was one of the players who brought us 55 and he’ll always be remembered for that and the amount of games he played.

Goldson has served us well and is 1st choice for a reason, we need him this year but if he chooses not to sign a new deal then good luck to him. We could have sold him cheap to get something this summer but I'd rather we had him to take us to the title and champions league windfall then he leaves for free than not have him this year. If he delivers for us and we get Champs league then that's more money than you could ever get for him in a transfer fee.

Also, if we get the boy Doehki from Vitesse it will be the same sort of deal as what we would lose Goldson for. We've taken advantage of the pre contract deals in the past, no surprise if others do too.

Goldson isn't as good as he thinks and before last season he was mince a complete liability and I would have punted him. Let's get someone in who is fast, hard and can pass a ball and ultimately wants to be a rangers player.

Had his moments but ultimately been a great signing for the money and a big part of our success in winning the league and last 2 euro campaigns. Wish him well if he wants to move on nothing wrong with that at all.

Don’t understand some of the comments here. By reason and logic the amount of games Goodson has played he is going to have more mistakes. If others had played as much as him they would have made far far more. The position he plays also highlights mistakes more than say a CM loading the ball that then leads to a goal in another phase or two of play.

For the money Goodson has been SOLID! His passing is superb and currently there isn’t another defender when he’s not playing that can play a striker in behind the lines. It’s only becoming apparent now with him finally missing some games.

For me though he shouldn’t be getting so much game time when he isn’t on board. However that’s up to SG. If he wants to go and that’s on a free then goodbye.

To say he’s not been great is just bitter. On the whole he has been excellent.

Ideally when we are up in games be good to give the young CH you mentioned some game time John? If goldson leaves, and maybe Balogan then leaves a big gap at CH. neither Katic or Simpson look good enough to fill that but hopefully we bring in a new signing.

Goldson has been great value for what we spent on him. can only hope we can unearth a similar player for the same cost next season.
