Ashley, s 2m interest free credit facility secured against Edmiston house and Albion car park (not the image rights or the badge or the stadium) on condition that he can appoint two members to the board

gkk- please go read the announcement and I won't paste it

After all the wailing and gnashing of teeth on here this weekend, I thought some would be happy that 2 of Greens spivs (as they were called when appointed) have left and two people not related to Green are now on the board

Is that not partially what was wanted by those shouting and boycotting for the board to be sacked?

Op, I think you may find that one of the 2 whom are about to be voted onto board has already turned down the CEOs vacancy some time ago and who offered said job? Oh that's right green and Ashley's behest. All good then for you

Ashley is linked to SE who controls 26% of the shares? Why 26% is that just an accident? No, it's because 75% of the shareholders need to agree when any vote is put forward so by owning 26% they can stop any motion from being approved as they did with Dave King or the alternative £3mill loan. The question of Blue Pitch and Margheritta Holdings ownership is still in question but would not be surprised if they are still linked to Charles Green? So where does it all fit in? Regardless of what is said Ashley can only gain overall control if he ownes the shares. He has however managed to get 2 of his own on the board and if they sit alongside SE then he can manipulate the situation however the directors have in theory to look after all shareholders so how there was no stock market investigation into the Ibrox naming rights issue sold by Green to Ashley is strange. With Ashley now on board Rangers supporters may never get to the bottom of who owns who.

This is just a thought and I may be a million miles away from the truth but with the king, Kennedy offers being knocked back & ashley being accepted maybe the mystery shareholders from blue pitch and margaritta are ashley just a thought

I don't think Green and Ashley are on the best of terms, how much did Green spend (of Rangers dough)trying to have that contact torn up? They must have had a wee tiff somewhere along the line. Ashley will bin Green, and his two fat pals soon enough.

Johnnymac - not every vote needs 75%, some only need 50. 1%

the resolution put forward at the last agm to allow the board to issue new shares did require 75% to vote in favour.

Ashley has not teamed up with anyone. Green the easdales are small fry to him thjey mean nothing. He will own Rangers at somepoint in the future i have no doubt about that.

Hope your right gkk as it would be sweet if he shafted them the way they have shafted everyone over the last few years.

JG you are correct it depends on the motion proposed. The Ashley £2mill loan is strange however. It's a 6 month loan. He gets to put 2 men on the board to represent his interests but after 6 months if the loan is paid back, they will remain on the board. In 6 months the loan needs to be paid back but there is no way of paying this back unless another 10,000 supporters buy season tickets for the second half of the year! That won't happen, Rangers are losing money now so how does that change over the next 6 months so what will happen is that Ashley will be entitled to retain the assets which he will offer back to rangers for an increased shareholding, the board will vote in favour then it's down to the shareholders to allow a new share issue which they will need to do and Ashley gets control by giving the assets back. So in effect he will gain control for £2mill. Job done. He is a very clever man. The £2 mill is the Trojan horse.

Johnnymac - is it not just the same as the Letham/easdale loan we had previously

But yes we cannot keep operating like this, we need hardass managers who will, A&E the cuts that are required to stem our losses

With the attendance the other night pretty poor. i know a lot of fans are fed up with the way the team is playing and the way it is being run but when you look at other clubs ie man u and Newcastle, Cardiff. hull. to name a few who don't really like there owners but still support there teams surely its time we all show why we are the best supported team in Britain by all getting behind the team. support the team not the board
