The sunday post newspaper this morning is reporting that if/when dave king wins control of the rangers boardroom he wants to copy the hearts & many english & european teams model to restructure and rebuild rangers, king has been very impressed by the way hearts have gone about their business of rebuilding their club, king seemingly wants to bring in richard gough to oversee all football matters similar to what craig levein is doing at hearts, king is also wanting to appoint billy davies as the new rangers manager/head coach similarly to what robbie neilson is doing at hearts, king wants to concentrate heavily on youth development by putting the proper coaching structure in place at murray park, he is wanting to trim the squad to drive down costs to an affordable turnover for the club, my point all along & I said it 3 years ago and I'll say it now this should have been done at the start when we were in division 3 instead of 3 years down the line haven't to copy hearts philosophy & structure when we should have done it long before them and without need to have copied any other club, we are glasgow rangers and should be leading and welcoming the chase!

jr if that's what king wants where does felix magath come in he has bought shares and surely king paul murray and j gillagan have researched billy davis football record and moral record I feel that the hearts way is best way but not with davis he has not even a track record off wins%to games played and I am sure a lot of bears feel the same

Sounds like a plan although I would worry about the gough and Davies link up as I think Davies seems to want to be in control of everything and can only see friction there and that is not what we need in the new regime, I think Stuart McCall would be a better choice if that is the blueprint going forward

Davies is strict and a solid manager he is no where near what we require at Rangers to rebyuild totally McInnes is the man for the job if jr is remotely correct, and I am taking with a pinch of salt as to date he has mentioned 11 seperate likely candidates, this will be a very bad way to start the new regime at Ibrox

I think jr is wrong and I pray he is, the other aspect about Davies dodgy sexual practices with Tommy The Truth Sheriden is just for newspaper headlines before we even get off the ground

So here's hoping this is just a jr guess

I'd prefer Felix megath than richard gough! There's a big difference between levein and gough in my opinion, levein hads lots more experience than gough, just because he was a legendary player it doesn't mean he should get the job, I thought we had learned that lesson

How about Felix Megath and Ian Cathro. In my view this would give us a good balance. Gough would be good as an ambassador for our club as he is respected in the game. It is essential that McCoist, McDowall etc have nothing to do with the club and I would, respectfully, add that Walter Smith takes a back seat. Time to gut the club from top to bottom.

I respect everyone's opinion on here and that's what makes this facility superb & worthwhile, my post was only informing my fellow blue noses on here that this story was in this morning's sunday post newspaper, I am george thinks derek mcinnes should be the next rangers manager and although I've always preferred billy davies I still think mcinnes or stuat mccall for that matter would also be terrific choices as our next manager, I wouldn't grumble with any of these managers, I would though agree with one of the other replies that I undoubtedly would prefer felix magath to richard gough for our technical director role, I really do like all the different opinions & banter on here guys, my compliments to the ed on giving us this tremendous facility

We should be aiming higher than ex Rangers players to be the next manager. If they have managerial experience at other clubs with proven success, then yes they should be considered. but persons without experience should not have a look in.

We are Glasgow Rangers. Having played for the club and being untested as a manager should not be an automatic right of passage to be our next manager. Aim for the top!

Aberdeen today beaten soundly doesn't define their season but it does show there is a gap in quality players wise and this if anything for me will 100% shape Kings thinking with regards to immediate MAJOR funding.

There are some very rich men that support Rangers plus the fans already shown how they will rise to the occasion 46000 attendences in Div 4!

I hope now people agree with me we will spend a huge sum rebuilding over next 12 months.

I genuinely believe at least 25million of this will be written off to keep us in a solid financial footing

Today really emphasised what lies ahead for me

hate tims but got to say after an away europe match with 10 men they really showed sheep who the men were today that is the mark of champions though personally I am sure McInnes threw the game as he is looking to leave for Rangers next week lolol

Derek mcinnes will need to queue up for the rangers manager's job because in case you've forgotten old pal billy davies is FIRST in the queue and it's his to turn down mate lol

jr you have constantly put up names for the Rangers job and a lot of them from "reliable sources"

I have searched on Sunday Post online and it mentions "a manager LIKE Billy Davies" not that Billy Davies is the man being approached, any manager available that has a good record and tactically sound is "like" Billy Davies though thanfully not many will want a ride at your wife while Tommy hold's the video camera!

Davies would be a mistake and will NOT be the next Rangers manager. someone LIKE him will be and that will most likely be McInnes.

I am as always minded to Magath and Cathro but it will be McInnes the Cathro way is too risky at this point in our rebuilding

Can you tell me exactly where it says Billy Davies IS next candidate?

i am george I am quite sure king and co will know billy davis has short comings both morally and practically and in my eyes would be as big a mistake as macoist was and your correct I can't see anything in sunday post saying davis will be next manager

I am george my old pal, I can assure you mate that if you get a grip of this mornings sunday post newspaper you will read for yourself that it says that a rangers insider says that king is looking to bring in billy davies and knows the availability of davies to take the job, I'm honestly not lying, as I posted previously I wouldn't mind a derek mcinnes or stuart mccall as our next manager one little bit because I do rate both, In my opinion davies has by far the better cv, common guys its all about opinions!
