Not seen a lot of chat on here about him, but what's everyone's thoughts on Ben Davies?

I think he has been really solid for us and seems to be forming a good partnership with Goldson. Plays it simple.

Doing well so far only tiny criticism is how commanding he Is at set pieces. Our achilies heal.

Davies is a good cb his partnership with Goldson is coming on very well, also read a couple of posters on here saying he is to slow for a cb that is nonsense he actually has a good turn of pace for a cb and covers his ground very well, You can also see he reads the game superbly well our best cb for that, man is very clued up on where he sees the next pass being played.

Pro ably the lack of chat is because he goes about his business quietly and effectively. When Beale started I noticed that he played a lot of passes through midfield to start moves. Looks like he has been asked to go the safe route now and this could be part of the reason why the performances have become such a hard watch recently. Recent pitches have been terrible but we should still be looking to make forward passes more quickly.

In my opinion he’s a decent player with a good range of passing and good reading of the game offers balance to left side. If I’m honest I think a back 3 would suit him better. If any criticism it would be he lacks a wee bit height and presence. I like a cb to be a wee bit bigger and a threat in opponents box. Davies dosnt seem to ever score or look likely to.

He's a good defender. Nothing more, nothing less. He does read the game very well, but he's not the most commanding. He definitely needs a shave. Terrible beard!

I think he’s settled into the team well and the partnership between him and Goldson is getting better with every game. He reads the game very well and has a good range of passing, he’s happy to ping passes short through the lines where Goldson generally looks for the long diagonal in behind. A settled no1 would def help the whole defence.

Problem with Davies and Goldson is they do not attack corners or free kicks coming into our box.
Neither of them commanding enough for me.

I'm not sure about him to be honest, comfortable on the ball and good tackler, however far too weak for me, not strong enough in the air, was bullied a few times at Kilmarnock, his part in the goal we lost in the semi final was shockingly bad, we have a defence that cannot defend corners, set pieces, the amount of free headers opposition players get against us is unreal, I personally would prefer a no nonsense commanding type in there.

I personally think the best is yet to come from him, I think he's quite shy and reserved and given a bit more time should relax a bit more and come out his she'll more, then we'll see the real Ben Davies.

Wasn't totally sure tbh so done a bit of research. As far as i can see, person is classified as derogatory ie showing a critical or disrespectful attitude, in the same category as soap dodger, tim, zombie and Hun. Not bigoted, offensive, sectarian or racist.
Some examples.
Fe*ain - Sectarian
J*p - Racial Slur
Proddy - Slang
Bead rattler - Insulting
Papes - offensive
All Protestants are netter than Catholics - bigoted.

Personally I've been really impressed with him, but I'm so used to the negativity on here that I thought he'd be slated.

I don't think he's worth the transfer fee we paid imo. Hope he proves me wrong. Although a fully fit john souttar is a better player. Commands his back line, great at tackling, and is really good in the air.

I like Davies, I've always felt that Goldson is the one who should be attacking set pieces, with Davies sweeping up any loose balls, good partnership though.
