Hope it's not true. just read that we are interested in Bristol striker Semenyo at 5milllion. Guy's scored 17 in 115 games. That rate barely prolific and would hope we would be looking at better than that.

We need too find a few scottish guys n get a bit of backbone back intoo the team, players who what's it like too represent the old firm cause when mcgregor hangs up the gloves, who there knows our institution and what it stands for, guys who would be ashamed and hate too lose too celtic
Andy Haliday example, not our most amazing player, but in an old firm would run through a wall for the jersey, and find that extra10 20% too pull us through, some of the guys there are embarrassing just now, we have no backbone or spine

We need to stop shopping in lower league england market we are basically shopping for same player market as hearts and some other spl it's stupid especially with player prices being inflated means we end up chasing bosmans only and then they end up on higher wages and if don't play well even tougher to get rid.


We should be looking to Denmark/ Sweden Italy Serbia Croatia good solid European markets

Our scouting is so lazy we should be aiming at potential international players not English league players that would get nowhere near English team ? we've been doing same thing for too long and results have been poor over that long period.

Gvb on Semenyo looks a decent enough prospect but I count see us signing him not a great goals return definitely cod play right side though a good link up player but I'd be curious to see how he would stand up against teams that have men behind ball all his best highlights in England seem to come from open game counter attacks which you don't get a lot of in Scotland he also has a contract till the end of 2023 with an option of a further year so looks like a non starter unles we want to pay stupid money.

What i mean by Halliday. Semenyo has bags of potential and out of contract in the summer. Deep lying forward, gets far more assists than goals. If we aren't looking at players like that then the scouting system is broken.

@BlueDreamer - Were Laudrup, Gazza, or Albertz Rangers men? No, but they were some of the best payer we’ve ever had.

There’s a myth that players need to be Scottish, or Rangers fans. Like Doran’s, Murphy, Halliday, etc? We signed players like that and we were horrific. What we need is good players regardless of who they support or where they come from. It’s our job to make those players fall in love with this club when they get here.

I don’t care how much Halliday likes Rangers. He was never good enough and we should never sign someone of that quality again. We were European finalists 6 months ago. Kamara was worth £10m last summer. We should have a player like Evander next to him for £8m. We need to think much bigger than ‘squad players’, ‘he could do a job’, ‘he’s a good Rangers man’. Can he play football is what we need to ask!

Rabbi while it's technically true his contract is up they do have the option to extend it another year so he's not really out of contract as soon as anyone is interested all they need to do is activate clause and demand fee.

I agree verdant on your recruitment thoughts. think our scouting way too lazy and shopping in English market for players that big teams don't want down there makes us no better than what hearts Hibs Aberdeen and other spl teams are doing.

I do however think it is good (not necessary) to have a true rangers fan in squad to help fire team on.

Agree verdant. But look at my post i said we need some scottish players like the passion of Halliday and mgregor too give our team a bit of passion n spine, of corse gazza n laudrup where amazing. Some of the best players we have ever had. But nobody in our team could lace their boots, exept davis who is exceptional, but getting on a bit now. yeah mate we need great players All i'm trying too say is we have barley a scotsman , example Barry Ferguson grass roots, scottish who knows what it mean too play for us

We are losing daft games in the leauge too formidable Scottish apponnents. Some of the forign guys can't cut the pace of our game so we need a mix i agree we need too spend Good cash too compete more in Europe but you still need a few Scott's who know and can play our game here

But our bread n butters the spl
N if we can't win points here we don't get into europe

Gazza where phenomenal players mate total diffrent class but they where still mixed in with class scotsmen
Ferguson for instance

You need a good mix. My point is always good too have scots players in the scots league. .

Blue Dreamer, I fully agree. The problem that I see is that our current Board and Scouting just doesn't look capable of identifying and signing players of the quality you mention and I am quite sure that they are still there is leagues that we do not appear to have the knowledge of.

Similarly, we don't identify young Scottish talent or even target Scots that are playing in England and internationally. Perhaps it is as simple as they don't have the right Agent since Wilson seems to have his favourite contacts!

One look at the players available on Bosmans shows that the quality is there. Players of a similar standing to those signed by Souness, Smith and Advocat. Question is, does our current Manager and our Current Chairman have the charisma to convince these players to sign for us or are we only allowed to sign players identified by Wilson!
