If Beale goes do we trust the board to invest and get the next appointment correct? My opinion but a net spend this year of a couple of million when we needed a major rebuild (and lost players like McGregor, arfield, Kent and Morelos for nothing) is not enough to build a great side. It’s ok the directors giving all these soft loans but if they’re taking the loans all back at the first European run or sale of a couple of major assets then that leaves little for investment in the team, which is exactly what we’ve seen this summer. Surely the loans could have been paid back over a longer period of time with continued investment in the team.

Alloa,

It’s even worse than you think as most of the loans are being paid in Equity/ shares.

Why is that worse? If they are taking shares then the club won`t be paying them back any money. Do you have any idea where the club would be if these guys hadn`t used their own money to buy the club, keep it afloat by paying in money every year and financing Gerrards rebuild and league winning side until we did get money from Euro runs and the sale of players . You cabn`t expect them to keep paying in and not ever getting some of the money back . They are not Saudis or Americans and they are wealthy but it is not limitless. People on here moan about the price of tickets or strips but they expect the board members to keep putting millions in to keep the club afloat. Its laughable.

I think you miss my point. I think paying back in Equity is sensible and agree we would be nowhere without these investors but it highlights the lack of real investment in the team and was pointing this out to Alloager if he was not aware. I was not having a go at the guys who have saved our club.

Your point on who pays is valid and these guys have done enough subject to a few bad decisions along the way and they have earned the right to make these mistakes as they put there money where there mouth was. If we are not have a rich benefactor which is very unlikely then it has to be the fans and the only way is through higher season tickets or merchandise. Problem is that the last two summer transfer windows have been a disaster which makes the lack of investment even worse.
