Can anyone please shed some light on David Templeton? Why has he been out, is he being kept on, is he going to be given a chance, is there something going on behind the scenes, has he fallen out with someone or what. Been wondering for a while.

David Templeton will never play for Rangers again. He's done at our club.

Templeton and Shiels both signed 4 year contracts when we were in division 3. Comtracts that would see their wage increase year after year. Both are now in their last year and are probably our highest earners. We must get rid of them and bring in guys who are good enough to start.

I'll be shocked if he's offered a new deal.

no dissrespect but david templeton has been absolutley poor for rangers injury prone and i'm sure he cost us near 1 million from hearts back in 2012 when we wur in division 3 another mccoist buy plus he's on massive wages aswell i'm sure he's pickin up somethin like 7k a week we must get rid of the dead wood for next season then replace them with quality wich no doubt MW and DW will do so future is lookin blue.

It's a shame about templeton, potential was there.

I think if he stayed injury free warbs could get him playing at his best again. He did play well in two or so games he got at the start of the season but its to little too late for him in my opinion.

Templeton. aird. law shiels. clark . bell all need to go in my eyes. get them off the wage bill. with the loanees going back i think we need at least 8 players in total. looking forward to close season c who we get.

I agree, I think all the players mentioned from the previous regime have had it too easy for too long and getting paid fortunes for it. There's no going back for any of them. If they had shown half the heart of Wallace between them they would have been ok.

some of the out of contract players may be offered contracts at less than half there present salaries.

I think MW will look at keeping the likes of Shiels and maybe even Law on reduced salaries. Bell, Clark, Aird and Templeton will I think go. Pity about Templeton. Good player with bags of potential but too much of a risk. I think Ball will return on another loan deal and I think the guys from Dundee (Stewart and Hemmings) will be on the radar. Hemmings was blighted by injury first time here and deserves another shot while I really rate Stewart and it helps that he is a big Rangers man. Ps Santa can you also bring us James Morrison and Graham Dorrans and maybe Anya?

I would be disappointed if Warburton considered offering a new deal to Shiels. He has the heart of a mouse, he loses concentration and at best he is only worthwhile as a back up player and for what we pay him we must be able to get a younger better alternative.

Clark just hasn't got it sadly and Law is just not committed enough or consistent enough.

As for Bell, we might be stuck with him for another season but I hope not.

Templeton is a strange one. He has been injured for most of his time at Rangers and during the period he has been with us he has never had the benefit of a proper coaching set up. He could flourish under Warburton's guidance but I seriously wonder whether he will ever play top class football again. We may find that the young lad has to give up the game and that would be seriously unfortunate.

Aird I don't know. He is playing at full back in Canada so I guess a lot depends on who we are able to bring in as cover for the full back position.

Law will be gone to end up at Motherwell with his brother probably would actually be a good signing for them.

Templeton has done nothing in his time at ibrox, he may have been unlucky with injuries but when he has played he's been very lightweight.

Please remember that he done very little towards the end of his time at hearts as well- he was falling out the picture there when we signed him.

Clearly he had talent but it's been unfulfilled talent. I know one of the youth coaches at hearts and he can't believe what a flop he's been. He had suggested his attitude is a factor.

Giving him a new deal would be utterly mad. Unless it was on a pay as you play basis but even then would be pointless. Seriously can't understand why anyone thinks giving him a new deal is worth considering.

Likes of shields and law should have been bursting a gut recently to earn a new deal and sadly they haven't. I like them both but time to move on and bring better players in.
