March planned for this week-end is a total waste of time. Much as I am 100% against the 'rebels', I applaud their dedication, but we must try to get some sort of unification. Our starting point is that we are all bluenoses, so why don't we try to promote a supporter's association with clubs from all districts, meeting to try to get a united front. First factor that must be sorted is the divorce of the financial side of the team and our problems with the management and team.

Billy, who is marching? And what are they marching for?

JG, according to reports it's the uof walking to Ibrox from Kinning Park [I think. ] It is, in my opinion, a futile attempt to try and protect the title deeds for Ibrox etc.

JG It's the Sons of Struth/ Union of Fans trying to keep up the awareness of their campaign to ring fence Ibrox and Auchenhowie. I tend to agree with billyb whilst admiring their enthusiasm and dedication what ultimate difference will it make? I suppose I wouldn't knock it as the easiest thing in life is sitting back and criticising and I agree with billyb we need to get all the fans together somehow. but billyb even if we agreed about the board, the shares, the governance and a way forward there is a certain wee gang of three on the touchlines who hopelessly divide us. But I forgot am being positive today so we shall overcome- someday!

I agree with you both, it doesn't have much chance of making any impact after the ST boycott fiasco but I also won't knock the bears who attend for trying to make a difference.

Is it being reported in the papers back there because I couldn't see anything about it?

Won't make a blind bit of difference but you have to applaud those guys for trying to do something. The real issue is that Auchenhowie hasn't produced the young talent it should have and thus it's not paying for itself. The running costs are supposed to be very high and too much for the club to afford.

6.) 18 Jul 2014
Instead of admiring their dedication get there leaders to sit round the table and agree a way forward to buy club instead of waiting for some other greedy grasper talking a good game but doing nothing

7.) 18 Jul 2014
Just so I'm clear.

You all advocate doing nothing but would like change? Criticize the few folk who will march against the board and actively come on here to say you don't agree with any protest?

If your the the voice of Rangers I give up!

"And Nero fiddled while Rome burned. "

Charli3 you have kinda got us but not quite. If you read my post I am recognising the lads are committed and doing their bit but just questioning whether it will actually change anything.
Remember the "Save Rangers" Campaign where the organisers failed to offer Paul Murray any financial help to increase the pot to defeat Green ( to have the highest bid)?
The failed withholding of the season ticket money this year and now a march to an empty stadium.

Hats of them and not being critical because as I say that is the easiest thing in life to do -sit back -do feck all and be critical we were simply offering an opinion that it will probably not succeed but wishing them well.

Another quote I would offer here is for "evil to succeed all it takes is for good men to do nothing".
We all sat back and believed Whyte's lies and I will get behind the next good idea 100%.

So not being critical just doubting the voracity and chance of a game changing outcome of the march to an empty stadium.

But well done chaps - thank you on all our behalf's and every best wish for the march.

9.) 18 Jul 2014
Charli3, I think the general opinion is that the march is a waste of time. Obviously something has to change, especially on the playing side. We might not agree on the commercial decisions made by our club but these are made by the officials of the majority. [i. e. the board. ] However, there is a growing majority fed up with our style of play and that is what we should target with the initial protests.
And Charli, I think most of us would not fiddle, but phone the fire service.

10.) 18 Jul 2014
Charli - don't know what you are responding to but it sure isn't the posts above

None of the above posters have criticized those who will march in an effort to have security over Ibrox, all we are saying is that their march will not have any impact,

maybe you should read through them again

Just so I am clear,

I have always advocated fans buying shares

JG

Charli3 I like your post mate and I have already answered it some time ago but it maybe got lost in the ether or the "Tinternet"

A bit of your criticism is hereby fully accepted by me.
However given the "Save Rangers" campaign failed to save us.
The march to Hampden didn't do much good
The Dave King/ Union of Fans witholding of season ticket money to secure Ibrox and Murray Park all sunk like stones

Isn't there a danger of the Gers support being labled with the following two or more isms?

Chocolate fireguard-ism
Ash tray on a motorbike-ism or in other words not much effen use or no real need for them.

"So your saying sit back and do nothing?"- No not at all but let's think about what will work. What would get whoever to sit up and take notice and once thought through let's all do it. Your right not everybody will do it because a lot of people prefer to sit on their asspidistras and criticise its easy we can all do it. But although I don't know the other chaps personally other than through these banter pages I know we all care passionately about the club and would go the extra mile if the idea had merit and a chance of really changing anything.

Maybe sometime in the future the ED might go for a couple of suggestions to effect change per day and see if any of them find favour with the posters on here?
