Absolutely no chance we are signing Ferguson . that chance missed! Was to many nowhere near good enough, yet has been brilliant in Italy and a transfer rumour for Juve!

tavsonloyal no doubt our req team look at these posts. My point was that many felt he was knowhere near good enough. Nothing wrong with looking at good players in our league.

Laudrup end of his career? No no no. Fairly certain Laudrup was 26 and in his prime. Was on loan to Fiorentina which didn’t work as they were newly promoted and struggled. He was a stand out for them. Laudrup was not at the end of his career. We got was it 4 years out of Gazza! So I could argue that’s wrong also. We certainly got his best and most consistent run. However I could understand more what you mean around Gazza.

But no. Can’t agree.

Ferguson is now out of our price range. We missed yhr boat on him at the start of the season. Think he would have fitted out way of playing perfectly. Has shown all those that doubted his ability just how wrong they were. Think he would have been an outstanding signing and we could have made decent money on him.

Gazza and Laudrup were not at the end of their careers. Both signings along with numerous others during the Souness / Smith era were inspired! If only we could secure a few players that are half as good as those guys we would be unbeatable.

When do we ever really admit we were wrong on a player if we've passed up a chance to get the boy a lot cheaper we are certainly not going to go back in based on a few months in Italy we will wait and hope for him to run contract down as we always do.
