Rangers midfielder charlie mccann is leaving rangers and signing for forest green on a permanent deal, as the 2 clubs have agreed the deal ? I had high hopes for charlie mccann at rangers to!

Boy wants regular first team football but I think he should be at a better level than forest green. I take it he must be thinking if he can go and do well it could lead to better teams looking at him in future.

In Hindsight, the contracts given to people like McGregor and Davis last summer were major errors. We could’ve gone with McCrorie and MCCann this season and I doubt we’d be any worse off.

Those who are coming through the youth academy MUST have a clear route to the first-team. If not, it’s pointless.

Hope we have some form of buy back clause tied into it but I can see why we’re selling him if we look at the fact Tillman is a month younger and they’re streets apart in terms of ability. If it helps to fund the signing of Tillman or Raskin etc then I’m fine with it.

Forrest Green are a great club and expected to go up another division in the next few years. I know Regan Hendry and he’s loving life down there. He had the chance to go to a few SPL clubs from raith but was well impressed with Forrest Green.

Verdant I totally disagree with you on the McGregor and Davis contracts. McGregor isn't the keeper he was but he is still a very good keeper. Davis still controls games better than anyone in our league. Both will be incredibly hard to replace not just on the pitch but more off the pitch. Both model pros who look after themselves and huge influence on our squad.

Where was that influence when we lost every Champions League game we played and got dumped out of Europe by 1st/ November? Where was that crucial influence when we went 9 points behind Celtic and effectively lost the league against before Christmas? The team looked completely uninterested to a man.

I heard a stat on the Rangers Review recently about the shot stopping abilities of McGregor this season and it was pretty damning stuff. Davis is out injured for the rest of the season and will contribute nothing more.

Given year long extensions to both those players was a mistake. I can only hope we don’t repeat that mistake and both are gone by the summer.

I’d also add to that and say we have Cantwell, Raskin, and Lowry is breaking through. We don’t need Jack and Arfield anymore either. Time to move the old guard on. This team has need a refresh for years - So let the exodus begin.

We really fumbled on this one. Arfield and davis shouldn't have been renewed, shouldve trusted mccann and lowry. Disappointing, hopefully have a buyback clause.

It seems Rangers wanted to keep McCann, but the youngster has decided to leave and try to get first-steam football eslewhere. Had we not given Davis that one year extension, and played this young lad instead, it may not have come to this.

McCann is tipped to be the next big thing for Northern Ireland and we’ve just lost him. What a mess.

Keep hearing how good the boy McCann is but the few times I’ve seen him he has been an average player with a bit of dig. We took calculated risk shelling out £500k on young boy who could not make the grade at Man United, hopefully we get our money back if he leaves.

Davis control game ??? not done that in a while now. So many peoe living in the past here. It has to be on merit over last 6 months to a year a player is judged not performances from years ago get the Davis tinted glasses off.
