There seems to be a big hoo-hah about Colak's goal from you know who"s supporters. The sliding tackle from Matondo clearly diverts the ball back the way, away from the goal. Although Colak is stepping back from an offside position, he can't be offside due to the ball being played back. Therefore VAR would have awarded the goal? Can anybody clarify?

He was standing in an offside position when Matondo connected but as I've said, the ball was played back which means Colak couldn't be offside.

Colak is coming back and is clearly onside when matondo touches ball.

Seeker, that's not how the offside rule works.

You can still be offside from a backwards pass. You can't be offside if you are behind the lad passing the ball, which isn't the case as Colak was closer to goal than Matond.

It was definitely offside, however it makes a nice change of pace to get a wrong decisions in our favour. Makes up for perfectly good goal Colak scored against livi that was disallowed.

That's not a rule. If he was offside when Matondo played the ball and he had the next touch then it should be offside regardless of whether the ball went backwards or not. I didn't see it, got busy at work and missed it. I did see the handball, almost a carbon copy of the USG handball for the first goal. Penalty all day, ref obv never watched the USG game.

Colaks offside and i love that it bothers them, makes it more enjoyabke. Montgomery is never a 2nd yellow any day off week so no issue with that. If he gets sent of it give them more nonsense to spout so glad was 11 v 11

Good perforamce, 3 game 9 sxored 0 conceded roll on.

Just watched it back and IMO he is offside when the ball is hit towards him.

He is coming back but still offside for me.

Not complaining though?‍♂️.
