Why don't we just accept that we are simply no where near good enough at this level! Perhaps it is more that we carried a lot of luck on our way to a European final last season and that papered over the cracks. It hid the sad fact that McGregor was reaching the end of his career and we didn't have another quality keeper on the books, it allowed the Board to ignore the need to replace Davis, Arfield and arguably Goldson, (bringing in Souttar on a free when the guy is seldom fit was a risk to far, and if Kent and Morelos were not going to sign a new contract then they should have been sold and replaced although in reality they should have been sold and replaced previously.
Whether with some of the players back, (realistically we can discount Helander Roofe, Jack ad most likely Souttar for most of the campaign), we can mount a serious challenge to win back the league remains to be seen and inevitably it will be the manager that carries the can should we fail. In reality the Board needs to carry a major part of the blame.
