In my opinion, the new manager needs 3 qualities:
1. Has an aura about him that demands respect
2. Has a track record of winning
3. Plays with a good style (high tempo attacking)

Of all the managers linked so far, none have all 3.

Lampard : has an aura but that's it
Muscat: will demand respect, has won, but have heard from some that his style isn't great
Knutsen: winning, and good style but does he have the strong character needed
Jansen: good style of play but not the other two
Clement: might be the closest to all 3.

I'm sure someone mentioned here that muscat has won 1 trophy and 2 charity trophies. He failed miserably in Belgium too, like lampard, mckinnes, alladyce stay well clear.

Blue, a post I wrote yesterday but didn't appear said something similar. If you look at our previous successful managers, all had big personalities with the presence of a leader, were strong willed, and knew how to win. Those attributes should be front and centre of our thinking, not projects or rookies or mediocrities. The five quoted all fail the test and so does McInnes. For me, Knutsen comes closest.

Gallardo is the closest you are going to find and the best possible candidate out of work. Rangers need to push the boat out and at least ask if he is interested.

I would love it to be Gallardo polar but he’s way out of our price range. He’s looking for mega money according to reports. Only way he’d take it would be if it’s a stepping stone to EPL.

Gallardo i agree is quality but i don't think he'd come to scottish football unfortunately ? Paul86,i'm led to believe that gallardo is currently learning english and has been for a wee while now.

Gallardo has been learning English for the last year and was on around 2 million at River plate.
His own words were he insists that emotional attachment and history are crucial factors in choosing his next club so If you don't ask you never know would make a real Statement.
