Emerson Hyndman is probably an excellent footballer but at 9st 6lbs (stone and a 1/ 2 lighter than Jason Holt) is he #1- simply too small for a rough physical Scottish league. #2- is he what Rangers need?

Jimmy Johnstone, Bobby Russell and many others, including a younger Messi, were all under 10st. Means nothing when you look at some of the 13st henbags that make a living at the game.

we can maybe get away with one or 2 players in out team with this stature playing in the spl but only if we have some guys with real presence, souness, bomber types

Its all abt being abit quicker upstairs when it comes to being a good footballer and while i agree its good to have a proper hardman all this guff abt having a big strong guy is nonsense as its not an arm wrestle there going to have in the middle of the park. give me a good footballer over a big brute any day

Correct, Bluedie, some on here would knock back Luca Modric because of his stature. Intelligence and the ability to unlock defences is far more important than brawn. Some players were blessed with both, like Souness, but they were the exception.

Exactle wee-ecky, for people to come on and say abt the boy only being 9st is just lazy critisism.1 post even said "hes probably a good player but he's to light", honestly you couldn't make it up

So long as he can look after himself he will be ok. I have seen a number of slightly built players with football ability that can play with skill and make a tackle. You only need to look back in time at some of our own players, guys like Alex MacDonald for example, to know that brawn does not always come with brains or courage!

Correct TOMUSA, we could go on all day abt guys we've had like Reyna, Mccann, Cannigia. its just people on here still living in the dark ages wanting 6ft plus guys that carry abit like Bob Malcolm
