Scott Allan is desperate for Rangers to make their move. I saw a twitter conversation in which someone who was out with Allan and Halliday last year in a bar at Ashton lane, they had been talking about their desire to return to Rangers. The Tweet read Andy Delighted for you, " told you and @ScottAllan at the lane that both your dreams would come true, 1 down hope it happens for you scotty"

Hate to say it but if he was going to come he would have been here already can't see us making a bog move for him now and can't see hibs selling him unless there was decent money involved

Transfer deadline day move it will be if happening as hibs will have no room to move and will have to decide on the spot if they are really committed to losing out on 500k plus to keep him until pre contract in January.

{Ed039's Note - Scottish sides would not be able to offer Allan a pre contract in January, you can only offer players outside your own Association players pre contracts in January, any Scottish side wishing to sign Allan on a free transfer wouldnt be able to make their move until May unless they have prior consent from Hibs)

I could be wrong but did Celtic not sign Gary Mackay-Steven on a pre contract last January before Dundee Utd decided to cash in and agree minimal fee for him to go immediately?

{Ed039's Note - I dont think so, if they did then Dundee United must have given them permission to talk to him, the way Kilmarnock did when we signed Cammy Bell. You can only talk to clubs outside your own association in January on pre contract deals. I am sure agents have conversations with clubs, but any deals agreed would be illegal)

Forget about Scott Allen man!! He's wantin down south to play in the reserve league! Get behind the players we have and the ones who actually wanna be here!!

5.) 20 Jul 2015 19:41:21
They did sign GMS on a pre contract mid Jan then agreed a fee to sign him on deadline day. This would be the best option for signing Allan I reckon if he does want to come to us.

{Ed039's Note - Dundee United must have granted permission for them to speak to the player if that was the case)

6.) 20 Jul 2015 20:32:51
Is it not only in England you can do it! Pretty sure and Celtic done it with GMS

7.) 20 Jul 2015 21:51:09
Why would Dundee grant permission with nothing to gain out of it! Doesn't make sense mate

Dundee United signed a Dutch second division midfielder yesterday/ or to be completed today. Can not see Thompson spending anymore cash on midfielders. I also heard this rumour that Hibs wanted to delay the announcement to try to tie up a replacement as not to hurt their season ticket sales.

Maybe we should offer £350,000 and Dean Shiels, he was previously a Hibbie he is a very good player but has failed to bed in consistantly. Obviously it be down to whether Stubbs would want him.

I reckon £500K plus addons is more likely what will be agreed. Maybe 15% sell on or something along those lines. The thing is if Rangers bid £500K and Allan bangs in a transfer request Hibs the decision becomes more difficult for Hibs. Same happened with Naismith when we bought him from Killie, Killie rejected the offer, Naismith slapped in a transfer request and waived his sign on fee to ensure the move happened.

Hibs are unsubtainable at their current level, they have over invested in their squad, if they don't go up this year it will be 3 years without SPL revenue. Rod Petrie will be touching cloth with the prospect that failure to be promoted could send them back to the dark ages. Hibs had only 9000 season ticket holders last season, its said to be up 10% this year but 9900 season ticket sales with limited TV money and sponsorship. Their wage bill is £102,199 a week their up jobbie creek without a paddle. There is no way they can afford to reject a half decent offer for a player who could walk away for nothing.

ScoutExclusive17 with regards to Holt said "Hearts just holding back on a fee due to not knowing if he's required in their squad next season".

If your going to post and make it up as you go along, can you at least check your facts. Holt is free agent. he is not under contract with Hearts. The only stubling block is a development fee. Rangers can proceed and sign him today without Hearts permission and it if Hearts still commanded a development fee it would go to a tribunaral the result of which woul dbe binding.
