Anyone got any details on the B team game against Liverpool under 23s? Seems like it was played at Ibrox.

Said at the time I felt we had to sell one or two right after 55.

We needed to refresh. I always had the feeling Gerrard was given the choice of keeping players or bringing in new ones and to be fair without a billionaire investor that is always going tk be the case.

Aston Villa are a wealthy club and they are allowing Gerrard to spend, but it is not working out. He's dramatically increased the wage bill for relatively old players and yet they are lying 4th bottom the last time I looked. I'm all for giving Van Bronkhorst time to know his players, balance the team and get the best out of them and he can do it. I reckon that if Gerrard was told to sell players then he should have just done that. The club works to a model and if you don't sell players then the whole model doesn't work and you stagnate for years. Even Ajax sell players. I detect the supporters, who write in here anyway, are not disappointed in Tillman and Matondo as much as they are disappointed in Kamara and Kent. We have a good manager and we should support him. The CL is gone now and so let's concentrate on the league from now on.

I remember reading a while back we had a “plan” for youth development to bring in young players. Anyone know when this plan is supposed to come in? Surely some of the youngsters are ready and deserving of more game time than a league cup game. McCann has impressed but is limited to 15 minutes against QOS.

Against QOS the young boys got a chance but hopefully we see King, and McCann get some game time in the first team this season.

Reckon we should do it just to cause a meltdown. A meltdown that would most likely win us the league regardless of who we play.
