Nothing to do with the game tomorrow or us really but more a question for the Eds. I read that Chelsea were blocked signing Zakharyan from Dinamo Moscow due to the sanctions on Russia. If that is the case how have Celtic got round that and been able to sign two players from Rubin Kazan?

{Ed002's Note - The rule applied to chelsea was a surreal decision after the purchase by Celtic and seems to be another "Chelse nly" rule.}

I think the difference is that the player Chelsea wanted to sign is Russian. The two the East end mob have signed are Danish and Swedish.
It's not where they play but their nationality.

{Ed002's Note - No, the Government clearly stated the issue was "helping to fund the Russian economy".}

Foreign players contracted to clubs in Ukraine and Russia have been given the freedom to sign for new teams outside the two countries as free agents after FIFA invoked temporary employment and registration rules.

{Ed002's Note - They are not Free Agents.}

Sorry Ed I disagree, taken from Fifas own site.

{Ed002's Note - I have a copy of the letter sent to Chelsea.}

No they aren’t Jim.

Celtic paid a transfer fee for at least one of the players they got from Russia. If it’s against the rules to pay them a fee how did that happen?

I have written to the sports minister to ask, if I get an answer I'll let you know.

7.) 04 Sep 2022
04 Sep 2022 05:39:37
Ask GIO. Why bother with it. Pumped again and instead of raising issues with our poor performance your worries are about Celtic. I just come on to annoy. I feel we should all be asking the board for answers. Like it or lump it our moment of glory has passed.

I couldn't care less about celtic, I was only trying to provide an answer to AC21.
The negativity of the so called supporters on here is disgusting.
They want tens of millions spent in every window. Do they have such short memories that they forget where we were ten years ago and why.
Rangers have to at least break even this season. We are on the uefa financial fair play watch list. If we make a loss this season we face heavy sanctions. Fans need to look at the big picture.

9.) 04 Sep 2022
04 Sep 2022 10:29:32
So you. are happy with what you saw yesterday Jim! It was nothing short of a disgrace. What is more, we do not need to spend tens of £millions, we just need a scouting network that can identify players that are not injury prone, haven't played competitive football for two years and that might actually compete! We don't need to be spending £millions but we did need to be strengthening our team the season we won the league and targeting players that the manager wants to sign. Wilson might be good at selling players but he certainly isn't great at renewing contracts or securing players that might make a difference.

10.) 04 Sep 2022
04 Sep 2022 11:18:41
Of course I wasn't happy, but for fans to be calling for gio to be sacked is purile nonsense.
I couldn't give a single player pass marks yesterday, they just didn't turn up.

11.) 04 Sep 2022
04 Sep 2022 16:08:55
What's the point in writing to a sports minister those 2 players have nothing to do with yesterday and deflects ftom the real reason we lost.

12.) 04 Sep 2022
04 Sep 2022 16:48:05
Because I want to know if the East end mob have broken the rules regarding sanctions on Russia. They should not get away with it if they have. The whole country is suffering partly because of Russia and they should not be paying money to a Russian club.

13.) 04 Sep 2022
04 Sep 2022 19:01:10
Your behaviour genuinely sounds like something we would rip the utter P out of if they tried that with us.

I couldn't care less what you or anybody else thinks of my morals. I'm happy that I've got some.
Our squad is what we've got to go with until January, bitchin an moanin won't change that.
Try getting behind the team.

15.) 04 Sep 2022
04 Sep 2022 20:59:12
Let me get this straight- you are bitching and moaning about people bitching and moaning? ?

Trying to dress up getting one up on the other lot as some sort of morale crusade is hilarious.

Your email will get a wee chuckle in their office and promptly deleted.

04 Sep 2022 21:32:50
Quite right Jim27, there is nothing that I would love more than that anti British Club facing sanctions for dealing with Russia. Their fans are happy to support every terrorist organisation under the sun!

17.) 05 Sep 2022
05 Sep 2022 07:31:00
Cheers, no doubt snell is one of the few calling for Gio to be sacked, ludicrous in my view. I will continue to support my team. Saturday although painful is in the past, our squad can't change until January and the most important game is always the next one. That is what I will concentrate on. As for his comment about the sports minister laughing at my comment and throwing it in the bin I've had an acknowledgement that my email has been received and I'll get a full response within two weeks.

18.) 05 Sep 2022
05 Sep 2022 08:36:42
Show me a single comment where I said Gio's time is up. I'll wait.

What is that well known saying about assuming? ?.

19.) 05 Sep 2022
05 Sep 2022 09:27:11
Maybe you didn't but you seem happy to have a go at me for stating the fact that some did. One of our so called fans even had a go at Gio for having a facial tic. Disgusting. I don't see them as fans. Fans support their team, maybe give it a try.

20.) 05 Sep 2022
05 Sep 2022 09:47:59
Again, show me a post where I mentioned anything at all about the manager situation? Paul said he thinks Gio will go before end of season, I reluctantly agreed. That wasn't that I want it to happen, I can just see it may come to be on our current trajectory.

In terms of any of your posts, all I have referenced is the fact you sent what I think is a waste of time email and personally if I was desperately clutching at that straw I'd be a bit embarrassed of myself. I also wouldn't be linking it to my so called "morals" when it's clear as day you are only doing it to get one up on our rivals. I presume you are contacting the ministers of all football associations where teams have signed Russian players this Summer or do your morals not stratch that far?

21.) 05 Sep 2022
05 Sep 2022 10:33:47
I'm only aware of one scottish team that has. Teams were allowed to sign players from Russian teams under an emergency rule brought in by FIFA. They are temporary loans and the players are to return in a year. Celtic are the only team I have seen that paid money to a Russian club.
Far from being embarrassed I am disgusted at any organisation that breaches sanctions against Russia.
Go on burying your head in the sand, there is more going on in the world than football. I see you chose not to comment on the disgusting comments made about our manager.
There are other parts to this site other than just this page, perhaps you should read the idiotic comments and you'll see why I find them so wrong. I will not be replying to you again as I've wasted quite enough of my time on you.

Ok precious ? sorry if I hurt your feelings.

You can't be as upstanding as you say if you aren't outraged enough to treat anyone doing it the same.

All you needed to do was admit "I'm raging we got gubbed off our rivals and I'm lashing out anyway I can because I'm angry" it's ok mate. People would understand.

To your point about not condemning other stuff, I didn't respond as it had precisely zero to do with our original debate. You kept going off on other tangents that had nothing to do with it.

I note from none of your replies, you haven't condemned the treatment of the Uyghur Muslims from China. It's horrendous mate. Shame on you.

Let's hope we bounce back with a result in Europe midweek eh. Hoping for a reaction from the team. If not could you maybe send an email to someone saying the ball wasn't inflated enough and it's just no fair?

Obviously we are all hurting after that horror show on Saturday. Every goal was a mistake by us but also to their credit they were clinical when the chances came. As for complaining about squad or signings, we made 7 and we have been very unfortunate with injuries to our squad whereas they had a full squad to chose from. What we have done in Europe under Gio has been brilliant and if we can manage it on the continent then we have to believe we can manage it at home aswell where the standard of team is worse.
Gio and the players have my full backing and they are going to need this starting on Wednesday in Amsterdam and at Pittodrie on Saturday as we can’t afford to fall any further behind them.
They will get injuries and loss of form and even confidence with defeats in Europe, we need to make sure we are in a position to grab any opportunities that come our way.

Gio is getting linked with a really important Jobs in the Dutch fa I can see him taking it if he gets offered it.

The Glasgow rangers, here here . ?.

too many worry here about celtic rather than us - FACT.

27.) 05 Sep 2022
05 Sep 2022 21:18:23
Just had a look at the job that Gio has been linked with and personally I believe that he would be crazy not to take it! It carries considerably more kudos than managing a club in Scotland and any ambition to move on to a top club in the future could be destroyed if he stays with us given the number of players that we will need to sign before next season starts just to stand still!
It is unfortunate but it is true.

Paid for 1 player and 13 month option to buy on the 2nd player from Russia. but the law was the foreign players were FREE to leave Russia or Ukraine clubs and sign elsewhere as contracts could be ripped up .

{Ed001's Note - not true. You are wrong. They were free to sign on loan elsewhere, there was nothing about ripping up contracts, but they could choose to suspend them. Some players considered a legal challenge to have their contracts ripped up.}
