My understanding is the Raskin deal isn't as close as we all think. Complications trying to complete a deal to get him in now, looking like a Spanish club are in the running. Could be the same kind of situation that just happened with Danjuma between Everton and spurs. 4th official expecting it to be announced today but that's not looking likely also not a peep out of Fabrizio about the deal either.

If we lose this boy then it could come back to haunt us he's a steal at 1/ 2m imo but we tend to drag these signings out also the longer we leave the more likelihood of other clubs making moves.

GC the Spanish Club is Valladolid. They are sitting third from bottom so NR will be aware that if he signs for them then he could be playing in liga 2 next year. I'm not worried about them. The Middle East team could offer him a fortune tho.

I’d more compare it to Cantwell than Danjuma it seems like the exact same circumstances. Player has agreed ready to go we make a bid club want more then all of a sudden someone else comes into the picture trying to make us rush and in the end we get our player. Keep the faith.

Nothing to suggest he’s signed a pre-contract with Rangers. It appears a deal was agreed in principle, but the player wants to move now. If Rangers can’t get him a transfer now he may go to another club who are willing to pay the transfer fee.

Depends how much Beale wants him integrated, Scottish Cup and Cup Final to play for, he hadn’t played for a while, if he leaves it to summer it’ll be even longer to be integrated, CL qualifiers etc to play.

So you’d be happy to see us miss out on this young lad and just sign someone else? Given our track record when it comes to signing I’m of a very different opinion. Raskin is highly rated and we should be making sure he’s a Rangers player. I don’t want to see us miss out and end up handing a new one year extension to Ryan Jack or the like (which would be us all over the back) . The same mistakes again, and again.

Verdant we have walked away from much better players. Raskin is an excellent talent that will get better and make whoever he signs for big money but there are plenty players that could have same effect. You talk about making the same mistakes yet sounds like you want us to just throw money at this player. That behaviour nearly cost us our club. We need to bring in talent but we need to make deals that are beneficial to us as a club at the same time. No player should come before the best interests of Rangers football club.

Verdant you've completely lost the plot over this. Nobody else can buy Raskin. He'll be at Gers either in the summer or at the end of this window. Standard can try to play hardball all they want but it is them that will lose out on any fee if they don't sell in January.

Have to agree verdant the risk of losing him to another club would be massively disappointing, having seen the boy play looks a massive talent, I don't believe John it would be aa easy to get someone else as good as him for a lower fee ofcourse it can happen but rare, fingers crossed we get him signed, wouldn't bother with some posts there verdant you have a good point hopefully we will get it over the line.

You do miss what what you don't have, John. If we don’t bring in quality player assets Celtic will continue to win the league. Right now, we lack quality in several areas. It’s missing, and we need it.
