The Athletic reporting Dujon Sterling deal agreed with player in principle.

Do you think he will cut the mustard?

Would be excited with this signing. Plenty game time, solid, young enough, height and not afraid to get stuck in. Very interesting.

Very good blue 89.

Blue89! That was painful.

He seems like the exact type of player that a lot of posters seem to be against us signing - so interesting to see what the mood is of we do sign him.

Think this is a good move has showed some promise and still at a great age and can cover several positions it would be good having him at RB and. push Tav forward it's at the back we need to tighten up anyhoo another decent two centre backs with one possibly two going out the door and I'm happy with backline + a keeper obviously.

The big question isn't if he is good enough but will the manager drop his captain and arguably his biggest goal threat? Sterling is a proper defender that can play across the back 4, in a back 3 or more advanced out wide.
Beale will have better knowledge than most on this player as he was at Chelsea at the same time. He is a good solid defender. Miles ahead of Tav defensively but nowhere near going forward. A 23 and a free transfer this deal would be relatively low risk with potential high reward.

Chelsea have so many players on their books there must be some gems available for sensible money or free . Of course that doesn't explain why they are struggling but could be down to the owner and management recently.

Whoever posted on here about Beale meeting Maja was wrong.
It was the boy from Chelsea that he met with.
Also heard today that Roofe has left.

Good deal if true, sterling can play RB or CB, get it done.
Tav ain't going to last forever, and neither devine or zukowski are quite there as solid comp for RB position, though both still young enough to improve.

Bellshill why would he have to drop him the boy can play practically and defensive or defensive midfield position.

I think this Sterling is similar to Bassey how they are an athletic, full back type but not great going forward, could make a great defensive partner at centre back with Goldson, assuming he can make the transition like Bassey did, can’t see him agreeing to come to us if he knows he’s going to be back up to Tavernier.

Seen quite a bit of the big man over the last year and seems like the kind of defender we could be doing with fights for everything and very confident on and off the ball.

He seems like a sort of signing we’d make to give us an option to play 3 at the back while being an understudy to Tav. Allowing freedom for Tav and either Borna/ Ridvan freedom to get forward. With us playing 10s instead of wingers again giving us width. Lad’s valued just shy of 1m and we all saw from Bassey what happens if a young big unit gets a good run in the europa league at the back. Wasnt sure about this ine to start with as was worried he'd be coming in as just Tav’s backup, but i'm well up for it now.

Think roofe is away seeing a specialist in Dubai or somewhere to basically see if he can resolve the constant injury problems. If he can we have one helluva striker on our hands next season
He would be like signing a £10m striker if we can get him fit and injury free next season.
