Twitter chat that Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing our youngster Jamie Newton. Maybe John or others know of him / how good the lad looks?

Yo jimbo, never seen him play, struggled considerably for game time, would have been out of contract end May 24.

He was given a 1 year contract extension in the summer but don’t think has really kicked on since then, not really been a regular for the B team, mainly in around the bench. Doubt we would have kept him on come the summer. Imagine it’s a ‘best for all parties’ situation.

Cheers John. It sounds a bit left-field on that basis. I thought it odd as I'd never heard of the lad. Normally por those linked with EPL teams you've at least come across the name a couple of times!

He’s had plenty of injuries, has struggled to stay fit majority of the season so far.

We weren’t offering him another contract and Mulholland/ Wilson down at Forest were more than happy too.
