Well that's a huge sigh of relief that Dykes has signed and extension at QPR. The mind boggles that some people on here actually wanted his as our number 9. The word "mediocre" springs to mind when I think of Dykes in a Rangers strip.

If we are to move forward and progress then we need young and hungry strikers who fit our buy young and sell high model. Dykes doesn't fit that bill.

I pray to god that we sign 2 x more strikers for the upcoming season on permanent contracts. I think this is where we have been severely lacking over the last 2 seasons, having a striker who is fit for the most part and can score 25 goals.

I still have concerns over our Scottish based/ trainer European quota. The likes of Ferguson, Doig, Nisbet, Shankland etc could have easily helped with that and offered something on the park as backup/ alternative options.

The next 2-3 weeks will be interesting indeed but I am hearing another 4-5 players in with the likes of Kamara and Lundstrum moved on for £5m and £3m respectively.

If Dykes signed for us and scored the winner on old firm debut. Deemed not good enough. But letting go Ferguson doig nisbet shankland. I can't remember much people on this site saying they wanted dyke's to be our number 9 . But as you say Abu the mind boggles.

Sir Walter, re shankland. Have you ever seen the lad play live? Because I’ve watched him a few times and he’s on a different level to anything we currently have available at Ibrox. Far better than Colak and probably a fit Roofe. The only negative is probably his age, but then again you could argue he is getting to his peak years.

Just wondering if you have then what is it about his game that you don’t rate?

Of course i've seen shankland playing live zikos. I would back him if we signed him but nowhere near our main target as a striker for me ?.

It's all about opinions, and IMO there are no bad opinions. Each of the strikers mentioned may well have succeeded at Rangers, but we'll never know, I personally at 76 years of age, have never heard of any of those strikers that are being muted to come to us, but as Beale said, I will support whoever MB signs. On the subject of Kemar Roofe, very good player, but, I would get rid TBH, his injury history with us is horrendous, all about opinions folks, don't fall out with each other over it, WATP.

Shankland is a good player IMO but I think we should be signing better. The Roofe comment is miles off if he’s fully fit next season he will get in the side. However I doubt that he will stay fit.
