To be honest as good a player as Scott Allan is, I think our midfield has proven that he isn't exactly a necessity. 9 goals in 2 games against our 2 main rivals shows our midfield isn't really in need of creativity. I'll be a happy bear if we do sign him because as I say he's a good player, but if we leave it to get him on a pre-contract then I'll be just as happy.
But onto something which I think is so much more important, it was fantastic to be at ibrox on Friday with such a feel good factor. Last season the fans were missing and the club and team missed them so much so it was great for the Rangers family to stand together again

We need a play maker in midfield and a strong holding midfielder. The midfield so far play good football however I am fearful of coming up against a team with physical players in midfield.

I think a strong holding player is essential but I think we have enough talent in there otherwise. Allan would be a great addition I think but on the flip side it would maybe be just as good to sign him on a bosman and give some of the other young midfielders a chance to develop this season with first team football. Under warburton they seem to be flourishing so let's give them the chance to shine this year.

Tactically naive, poor training methods and all in all not a very good manager are things that I could throw at ally. We all know he wasn't a very good manager. But all in all could anyone have successfully managed our club with the shambles that it was. I strongly believe Walter smith seen what was happening and even he walked away.
No investment in youth policy, our great stadium being neglected left right and centre, no scouting network, the front page headlines every day are just some of the contributory factors that would have made the task of keeping morale high almost impossible. Especially for an inexperienced and untried manager. Ally certainly wasn't management material but he gave it his best shot and I for one will never hold his manager stint against him. The guy has given me too many happy moments in my life to do that
Just remember people as u's are criticising the guy, you's are also slating the 4th inaugural member of the Rangers hall of fame. That for me says it all. Some people either have short memories or they are just simply ungrateful.

Well said barca bear I don't feel we should be just looking to win the division. If Ally's team was good enough to get to a semi last year then we should definitely be looking to at least get to a final which could bring about European football. As long as the players we sign will add value to the club then why shouldn't we sign more.

I also feel that mw is doing a good job, no longer laying out money on players who think they're something that they're not. Bringing in players who were promising at a young age, but have lost their way a little, is a very shrewd way of working and if these guys can hit the ground running right away and get a good rhythm going then, with confidence back, these players could go on to be excellent additions. Personally, I hope the days of people coming to our great club for easy money, are over and instead of spending big money on players, I'd prefer to see us paying top dollar for the best youth coaches about. Can't wait for the season to start

Guys, don't you think we are now seeing the real Tav which is why we brought him in. This will also happen with Windass as you have seen he has the potential just needs to be more consistent. Bates was the same, laughed at when he came from RR now a more confident palyer and showing potential. We should be holding on to these young players then selling on when the pruce is right or even building round them.

Unable to add another level to the Govan due to proximity of the under ground rail line, i believe.

Jeezo gaz how much bonus money do you want your club to give desmond and his cronies, because let's face it, that's the only place the money is going. If you're happy with the way celtic are being run then that's your choice but personally I'd want a bit more from my club after the profits that have been reported over the last 5 years. N as for leaving the real football to celtic DH88, if u's consider a champions league qualifier against Malmö as real football then that just shows you how far u'r club has sunk. A few years ago u's were beating Barcelona at the piggery and nowadays u's push your luck against the likes of Malmö. Defo not much to fear from the beasty mob from the east.

It's ok saying that, but first the team needs to get used to playing teams at a slightly higher level. It may be that this team could easily go on and win the spl or it may be that they would fall short, it's all about how they progress as footballers. But the important thing is, warburton n weir will work hard with these young lads that we have and will strive to improve them as footballers. But one thing I do agree with u in, is that celtic shouldn't be feared. When the 2 clubs competed against each other, they were regularly getting into the champions league. Now they are struggling every year and persist on selling their best players every season, so I don't think the margin is as wide as everybody thinks. If aberdeen could give them a challenge last year, then I think we could easily challenge within maybe 2 or 3 years
