Jeeso, we have folk constantly complaining about Ross Wilson and moaning that he does nothing, yet in the last few years he’s set up the best youth recruitment we’ve ever had. We are constantly bringing in 15,16,17 year olds with a view to creating a conveyor belt of youngsters, and before anyone says ‘well how many make it to the first team’ 1) most are still too young as mentioned the players brought in are 15,16,17, hopefully in 3 or 4 years we will see the benefit of this work, it’s called long term planning. 2) Of course not all of them will make the first team, however already there have been a number that have moved on for decent money and more importantly have additionally clauses in the deals, the likes of Wilson to Aston Villa and Mebdue to Man City. As I have mentioned before on here we as a club have to become smarter in terms of our football business model, so no longer spending millions on players in their late 20’s or 30’s (like we did under David Murray) but doing things like this instead where we bring in the best youth we can and either develop them for the first team or sell on with additional clauses for a decent profit. It’s likely already that we will see players like Lovelace or Bailey Rice in the first team in a few years or potentially bigger clubs paying a decent amount for them to take them, both players (just like this guy) that we snapped up at a young age for pennies. So for those constantly questioning what Ross Wilson does, well… this for one thing!

Wilson is doing a good job with one hand tied behind his back. We are recruiting in a market where gambles over pound signs are common place. Our Youth recruitment is bringing us in much needed revenue and can’t be anything but applauded.

Think it's great investing in the future and at no great cost, hopefully one or two do make it. Only downside is cross border rules in this country, tho we can pick them up cheap unless they do make it into team like Patterson then we only ever get small development fee. Scottish clubs apart from them can't afford to pay much for our youth Whereas English teams have been able to make millions on bang average academy players staying in England. We're relying on hoping they willing to agree addons.

Wilson is doing a good job at rangers on youth yes give them a chance too. ease them in but give them minutes on the pitch a devine or so coming on in 89th minute etc is not good they are our future stars like ferguson mcgregor patterson etc etc as i said before bring back u21.23 instead of b clubs and let them play in a better league than lowland league no disrespect to clubs there you just need to look at kelty edinburgh city bonnyrig etc there are clubs there who can't get back up east stirling berwick rangers etc.

Younger players need to be introduced in a sparing manner. How many points did we drop this season with the lad King being shoehorned into the team? Same in CL. Now the lad doesn't even get a sniff because he's probably gone backwards as a result.

It's all bull youth football is its own business we take youth that bigger teams release and hope we get a 250k fee or something for them down the line there is no plan for any of these boys it's a total lie.

Any parent that let's Thier kid join rangers or celtic after a certain age is stupid sure get a grounding with better players around them but I'd say at 16 they should be off to someone who will play them every week.

Look at Barry Ferguson came in played outstanding alongside Ian Ferguson when we had injuries and he even got dropped for edu. Ferguson was getting set to leave it took dick advocaat telling Ferguson he would get the chance to show what he could do and would build a team around him. I honestly don't see why Lowry started in b team this year even if injury should have remained with first team squad we are ruining that boys chances. Could easily fill that Kent role of you ask me.
