You have already told us half of the full story. I hope you won't come back and tell us that when we do sign out of contract players, which we absolutely will, that those were players you were told about.
I used to work with a guy who would do the exact same thing with loan deals, because it was a guarentee would sign loan deals he would initially say that he couldn't say their names as his source would not tell him any more information if he found out and then when we did sign a loan player he would say that's who his source had told him.
It was all just a ploy to have his ego massaged as the younger guys at work would ask him for information. Most of us were too long in the tooth for those antics.
I'm not saying you are doing what this guy did John, absolutely not. It just reminds of that guy that's all. I think he knew that we knew what he was doing. Good fun at the time. Takes me back a bit to be honest. ?.

Name that was floated to me last night is Leandro Barriero, 24, defensive mid, over 50 caps for Luxembourg, out of contract in the summer, currently playing in Bundesliga with Mainz, this could be just noise due to a stalemate with Lundstrum and folk are putting two and two together in terms of position and getting five, was told some top Portuguese clubs are interested as well, might be a name to keep an eye out for though.

Thanks Bornabear, there are a lot of people out there in all walks of life that will do anything for validation and to project an image of themselves that they would like people to believe. Guys at work used to call out this guy, but it never phased him. He kept the charade going. I have even seen it where they have a little group that compliment eachother and hang off each other's every word. My old dad has a saying, there's nothing stranger than folk. Very true.

That has intrigued me Ger88 because at first I was thinking that Luxembourg are not that great, generally the whipping boys of Europe but if he plays in the Bundesliga and top portugese clubs are looking at him then he must be of half decent calibre. Good rumour, and if he doesn't sign I'm sure no one will cast it up to you or doubt any rumour you post again. If they did then that says more about them.
Yeah Fork I figured there must be some history to it. What I don't understand is how a man who is not known to anyone on here I would assume is hesitant to post names of players based on the backlash of a few posts. To be honest I'm not buying that. You're right Fork it shouldn't happen, can't think why people would take issue with someone posting a rumour.
My point with John is he has already posted the majority of his rumour which people could easily jump on so why not just post the full rumour?
Everyone knows we will sign out of contract players in the summer and now is the time of year when we can approach them when they have less than 6 months left. Anyone who knows how it works will know that there is a 99.9% chance that we will have already approached these players.
I don't need a source to work that out.
So why did John post half a rumour to begin with if he fears a backlash. That doesn't make any sense. Surely if he did not want the backlash he just wouldn't post any part of the rumour at all.

Barreira is very very very good. he'd improve our midfield vastly, but I'm not sure who he would start over as very similar to lundstram.
