Just heard that Clemonts team not sure about manager are actually on gardening leave, possibly until takeover I would guess.

Coopersdad

1.) 03 Mar 2025 15:39:54
Aye "community service" gardening, cause they were criminal??.

2.) 03 Mar 2025 16:04:57
The better pay that extra 40 a year if there gardening that much.

3.) 03 Mar 2025 16:30:25
Superb as always Fork ?.

4.) 03 Mar 2025 17:10:28
Cheers Baz??.

5.) 03 Mar 2025 18:01:10
Coopersdad my understanding they were paid off using additional money from finishing well in europa.

It's about limit debt should takeover go through.

6.) 03 Mar 2025 18:54:54
Clement deserves a bit of criticism but I would be fancying our chances more if he was in charge for the game on Thursday. He seemed to be able to set the team up to perform well in European games, not sure Ferguson has the nous to do that.
If he sticks with the same players playing the same way we will get gubbed .

7.) 03 Mar 2025 19:05:48
Wouldn't post it if just heard anywhere on line John but one of the old team def on gardening leave, they told someone I know last week, was hoping he was wrong but as he was told from that person a take it must be true.

8.) 03 Mar 2025 19:36:28
Good info coopers.

9.) 05 Mar 2025 05:33:42
I'm sorry clement ain't to blame for all this, it's this band of players
They just ain't good enough
Bloody nervous too play at home
Honestly heard it all
Shambles of a captain to let this crap go on
To many stealing a wage
They just don't care n results clearly show this
N ferguson even said they ain't doing what he asks
In summer pap them all
As just not good enough to represent our Jersey
HARSH BUT TRUE.

10.) 05 Mar 2025 12:13:57
We will get steam rolled by Fenerbahce with Ferguson at the helm, he couldn't even get his fringe cut straight when he was doing that boring podcast mince.
He is no manager of any kind, and never will be.
Lets be honest its a quick fix to appease the fans, with a group of former players and nothing more.

If the Board are serious then get Gerrard back, easily our best manager since coming up, knows how to get the team playing superb attacking football, has solid leadership skills, understands the clubs history and what a Rangers team should be doing week in week out, has the knowledge to go to later stages of Europe, knows how to build a team even with a limited budget that can not only beat Celtic but beat them consecutively for a full season, and takes no nonsense from players (remember the covid party thing) all players had their contracts ripped up and sent packing after they made public apologies, and rightly so they are playing for the mighty Glasgow Rangers and they better respect that on every level, if Gerrard has a player that can't be disciplined or is on the level we need, he deals with it quickly.

11.) 05 Mar 2025 16:53:10
I woulnt get rid of them all i like Barron with bit more game time reckon he will improve i'd keep Raskin Souttar Nsiala Igamane Sterling and Danilo (if they can stay fit) and i'd keep Dessers maybe as a squad player. Barron and Dessers esp run their socks off and do a lot of the dirty graft that is often overlooked. We need a lot of freshening up in other areas with some good 1st teamers with good potential younger lads that can come in when needed and i'd have no issues about us getting some if them from other scottish clubs. Were not the powerhouse we used to be so have to be realistic wuth our expectations and effectively were starting almost from scratch. can't see any of the scottish league guys doing any worse than the costly foreign lads who have done nothing.

20 Dec 2024 18:15:43
Heard on 4 lads pod today about Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea on loan, don't think possible myself as crazy wage etc, he just playing in conference europa league for them, would think there would be plenty of EPL teams that would take him especially going back to Leicester, as a said don't think possible and surprised it was mentioned.

Coopersdad

1.) 20 Dec 2024 18:26:05
coppers I read the other day that Arsenal were interested in him as well. don't think it will happen him coming to us though although he is decent. I would prefer someone we will end up with permanently TBH.

2.) 20 Dec 2024 19:01:56
Same here Angus, just thought it was a weird one to come out with, won a few quid on him with goals last season with Leicester, fans still like him there so can see him going back.

3.) 20 Dec 2024 21:49:11
We have been linked with him, Chukweumeka of Chelsea and Evan Ferguson of Brighton on loan . Its hilarious. These guys are worth millions and earn mega bucks in wages.

4.) 20 Dec 2024 21:58:39
These big money loan deals aren't for us. We need to keep reducing the wage bill.

5.) 21 Dec 2024 08:11:42
Our role and place in the food chain is to find the next Dewsbury-Hall and not purchase the real one?all paper talk.

6.) 21 Dec 2024 09:02:16
Arsenal are not interested in Dewsbury Hall - they looked at him 4 seasons ago but not in their thinking now.

7.) 21 Dec 2024 11:48:12
We need to start scouting further afield, the English market is vastly overpriced, let's look at Africa, especially north Africa, even CV loser to home Germany Spain Greece ect.

8.) 21 Dec 2024 13:56:57
Would we be signing him to help us win the Scottish Cup? I mean, it would never be a permanent move. Pointless and won't happen. There's little motivation to spend in January as our season is all but over and the club is losing a lot of money.

28 Jul 2024 20:20:49
Still think another two will be in this week, getting to the point I would bite yer hand off for Souttar, McLean and Shankland, maybe not everyone's cup of tea but at least you know they would run through brick walls for us, a couple of high profile loans on top before window shuts, not what I was thinking before summer but would improve the spine of team and should be ready to go.

Coopersdad

1.) 28 Jul 2024 21:08:53
Cooper I'm unsure we will get 3 in it depends if PC prioritises mid and striker we simply can't afford to bring in all the positions we need and it may be PC needs to do his work over next 3 windows.

2.) 28 Jul 2024 21:11:20
That just backs up my point, we’ve given up.

3.) 28 Jul 2024 21:14:52
Can’t see anyone in only cert looking clement will walk something seriously wrong at this club.

4.) 28 Jul 2024 21:37:01
I wish we hadn't bought a striker that's not ready to be on the bench let alone start. we are weak in that area with dessers and a half fit danilo. lovelace is injury prone and there's no1 else coming through the academy. Wouldn't be as bad if we had big sima or someone guaranteeing goals but we are significantly weaker back to front. I'd take all loans right now if it was experienced goal scorers!

5.) 28 Jul 2024 21:43:40
Quality will arrive ?.

6.) 28 jul 2024 21:52:11
nonsense, i look forward to your next post.

7.) 28 Jul 2024 21:59:35
Would think to start the defence should be rock solid, unfortunately it looks like PC needs 8 midfielders, crap defence and poor forwards. going for a lie down.

8.) 28 Jul 2024 22:29:24
The doom brigade is well and truly out in force tonight. League is over before a ball is kicked according to most of the comments here. We need to accept that we have spent above our means for years. Over inflated transfer fees and over inflated wage packets on mediocre players and now we are suffering the consequences. We don't have the money to buy proven quality and we will be propped up with loan signings to appease the majority of fans who crave immediate success. This is a long term project which should have started when we started in the 3rd division. Younger players coming through and being played so that we could build a squad instead of paying 10k per week to boys like Jon Daly and David Templeton. Yes we needed to get back up the leagues but our youth would have been more than capable of beating the majority of the lower league teams along with one or two experienced players. We spent a fortune getting to the top flight when we didn't have to in my eyes. We need to accept that the famous need a restructuring and we need to give up the idea of demanding silverware and sacking managers as soon as we fall behind to Celtic. Give it a few years, build a proper foundation, a proper transfer budget and then the world will see the true might of the famous glasgow rangers.

9.) 28 Jul 2024 22:35:35
Not sure about the level of panic on this thread. We need to get players out of the door and signings will follow. It can't be the other way round - that would be gross mismanagement. A left sided centre half would be top priority, I would think. Then a striker. We should keep Dessers, but Goldson and Tavernier should move on. Tavernier looks way behind in fitness so that might affect a transfer.

10.) 29 Jul 2024 01:18:44
I'm positive we'll see at least 3 first team players brought in by Friday.

11.) 29 Jul 2024 10:37:04
Pauly hopefully before Friday mate, squad for our qualifying cl named on Thursday.

Like most not my first choice and to be honest would not of bet my house on any on our radar to bring us success, will back him and have warmed to him a bit already listening to him talk and others talking about him, hopefully he is given the tools to give him a chance to show us quickly what his style looks like in a blue jersey, he will have too as the fans will not give him as much time as others would get, nothing I would like better like most to be proved wrong on this appointment.

Coopersdad

1.) 05 Jun 2025 15:09:12
I thought he spoke like someone who believes he can do the job, I'm really looking forward to seeing some good football because the last few seasons we have been an awful watch, no more big diagonal balls hoping they find someone
Let's hope we can bring in some decent talent to raise the quality threshold.
All in all I'm happy with the appointment and excited about the season ahead.

2.) 05 Jun 2025 15:29:40
Sima watched some analysis and whilst he does keep possession it seems to be a bit faster in passing than we have been used to across the back. can be 20-30m passes or just 2 to get to the front. high press as well we have been missing for years. Looking forward to next seasons discussions on big chances and shots on target already ?.

3.) 05 Jun 2025 15:51:27
I'm looking forward to discussing goals and assists. Feck yer big chances ???.

05 Jun 2025 01:00:20
Not who I wanted but will get behind him, one thing for sure the board will need to get him the right players to give him a chance, still think a few big stories to come out of ibrox this summer.

Coopersdad

13 May 2025 12:40:07
Have we ever had a new manager without experience who has not won the league, Struth, Souness, Smith and Gerrard all won league, not too worried about the lack of experience it's the recruitment in players that has to be bang on to compete next season and hopefully a better injury record.

Coopersdad

1.) 13 May 2025 12:53:53
It's a massive gamble, too much and how did this guy manage to reach Real Madrid I wonder? ?.

2.) 13 May 2025 12:58:19
I think both have to be bang on coop, both go hand in hand mate. If it is an ancelotti he'll obviously get my backing, but feel the new owners are getting first big decision wrong, that's worrying imo.

3.) 13 May 2025 13:19:21
But it can and has worked. Mourinho, Arteta, Zidane, Pep, and to a lesser extend Lampard and Solsjaer.

4.) 13 May 2025 13:38:13
Agree boyblue, but as you say, we go with it.

5.) 13 May 2025 13:41:55
Feelings can lie to you a lot boy blue. We've appointed a real Gers man in Fergie, didn't work.

We've appointed winners in Clement and gio, didn't work.

We went with the fans choice in Beale and Gio, didn't work.

The last manager to win us a league was an under 18's coach with no experience. It could be a masterstroke. It could fall flat on its face. We will just need to wait and see.

This is also all hypothetical as there has been no announcement or confirmation other than there is no preferred candidate at this point. Everything else is speculation and guesswork.

6.) 13 May 2025 13:55:23
His contacts and knowledge of different countries football should be amazing.
Genius takes balls, if u get me.

7.) 13 May 2025 13:59:21
Ayrshire your just stating the obvious that it could fall flat on it's face or be a masterstroke mate. I'll be 100% behind it mate, my opinion is it's the wrong move. Not sure what your mean with my feelings can lie to me? I highly doubt they are, as there my feelings nobody else's.

8.) 13 May 2025 14:24:59
Am not backing anyone for job as a think everyone will be a gamble but at the same time will back whoever comes in, is their an outstanding candidate out their a can't think of one and most will have a list they don't want over who they would except, let's hope it's done quickly after season finishes and we can get onto a summer of ins and outs on the player front.

9.) 13 May 2025 14:48:55
Can't really say it's failed with Ferguson, he's interim manager of someone else's team that had already lost the league and only managing the team for a very short space of time at the end of a losing domestic season.

10.) 13 May 2025 15:50:53
Stig I agree and you could argue that his management has done what it was asked to do in that he has managed to get the team to end of season etainign 2nd place, got us as far as possible in the europa. and potentially created a file of who are the issues within the squad. you need to know what the ask was to know this.

11.) 13 May 2025 17:12:32
Absolutely Angus ? ?.

11 May 2025 17:02:27
The second half football Rangers played was what we should see from a Rangers team every week in this league, been a while since I've been entertained from my team especially at ibrox, here's hoping this will be the standard from next season whoever is wearing the blue shirt.

Coopersdad

1.) 11 May 2025 17:52:58
Yeah was really impressive second half coopersdad, free flowing football, something we've been deprived of this season.

2.) 12 May 2025 17:42:12
Boy Blue, imho, it's mostly about confidence and belief, which, we have sadly lacked, unless we're playing Celtic and in Europe.

05 May 2025 13:12:35
With a lot of players leaving and coming in this season a really think Balagon should get another year contract, hopefully whoever comes in is top notch and injury free and he will be used as cover but let's be honest it's along season and with Balagon he does his job, he is on a low wage and a no brainer for me even if he just used sparingly.

Coopersdad

1.) 05 May 2025 13:29:10
Coopersdad, what if he wants to go somewhere to play more regularly?

2.) 05 May 2025 13:29:10
I would give him another year Cooper, he's the best centre half we have.

3.) 05 May 2025 13:31:58
Balogun has done quite well, but his time is up.
Unbelievable the amount of players we need to leave this summer when you start listing them.

4.) 05 May 2025 13:32:48
Id rather have a young lad playing those games. nothing against Balogun but isn't really building for the future. we need 4 CHs who are v good quality with youth as back up.

5.) 05 May 2025 13:35:25
If he was *purely* injury cover and 5th choice, then yes. We can't afford him to be 2-4th choice.

However, I'd be looking to ship put souttar and propper. So with nsiala, you'd need another 2 or 3, so keeping balogun makes sense.

6.) 05 May 2025 13:54:55
So we give Balogun another year and halt the development of Nsiala, mb fernandes and kisawinjaro.

7.) 05 May 2025 14:00:36
Thought the big man was excellent yesterday, very rarely fails when called upon. We need a young version of him though. Great servant.

8.) 05 May 2025 14:17:53
No John, it wouldn't impact their development because Balogun would be cover for injuries / rest. Please explain why Balogun on another years deal would halt their development?

9.) 05 May 2025 14:23:04
Not for me.
A player who is rarely fit.
And who relied on his pace which we can sadly all see has been going this season.

10.) 05 May 2025 14:29:46
John, would you have said the same about David Weir? Balogun is exactly the player we should be keeping. He gets the club and has vast experience. Our club is going down the bringing in younger players, however we need leaders and experience to help these youngster on and off the field.

Low wages n low risk. Arguably currently our best centre half and won't complain if he only plays 10 to 15 times next season, so Another year for me is no brainer.

11.) 05 May 2025 14:33:46
I agree, Nsiala should be before him in order next season the same with who else comes in but with our injury record tho he would be an option that will not let us down if needed, we play three games a week from August to January usually and even if he only used a few games a season a think it's a win for us, be far from bad idea if it suits player and club.

12.) 05 May 2025 14:48:53
Stewarty the difference is that Weir came in and was one of the starting CHs. If Balogun was that then there wouldn't be an issue; albeit the thinking is short-term. It affects the development of our youth as he gets game time ahead of them. I would rather our young CHs if not starting were getting time at end of games and selected/ selective games.

13.) 05 May 2025 14:55:39
Coopers,

Thought against Tim's he was outstanding. Would treat him with kid gloves to get maximum.

14.) 05 May 2025 15:01:32
Balogun would be a good squad player, can only see his niggling injuries getting worse next year tho. I like how he mentors as well. I know it's been discussed to death, but Katic would still be a good squad player, loves the battle and a proper big hard defender that you would need for certain games, not always about the good ball playing players.

15.) 05 May 2025 15:02:36
Cathrin because we will pay out a wage and not buy say Fernandez.

Balogun injury record and availability is horrendous.

16.) 05 May 2025 15:14:54
Weir was fit a lot more than balogun is and twice the player balogun could ever be.

17.) 05 May 2025 15:15:58
I would give him another year's contract his experience could help develop the other players.

18.) 05 May 2025 15:16:38
Surely we play the best player in that position, regardless of age. If Balogun is keeping out those players then its due to him being a better player.

19.) 05 May 2025 15:42:23
Hey John, good to see you posting so soon after your procedure. Glad it went well.

20.) 05 May 2025 16:17:56
Yep another year rolling contract, he is easily our best cb, and John I'm all for developing players but you forgot one thing, we get about a million injuries a year, need somebody to cover for them, for me he's cheap loyal and most importantly he just gets what it means to be a get.

21.) 05 May 2025 16:42:20
Stewart's go look at weirs available stats and balogans.

Let's keep balogun and strive to be second best.

22.) 05 May 2025 16:44:20
Coopers we do not play three games a week it's two in seven days.

23.) 05 May 2025 16:47:35
Thanks still blue. It's all seemed very straightforward. Ended up as a double bypass and one stent.

On feet. Trying not to go over the top. Will be home Thursday.

I'm sleeping loads.

24.) 05 May 2025 17:06:29
How do you know that we won't buy Fernandez John? Giving Balogun a year will have zero impact on their development. Balogun being here now has not stalled their development so why would it in future?

25.) 05 May 2025 17:06:58
Spot on RR.

26.) 05 May 2025 17:20:25
Take care John.

27.) 05 May 2025 17:30:16
Are you in your own room John or a ward both others. If latter, hope your getting good banter. Makes all the difference when your in a hospital.

28.) 05 May 2025 17:36:48
He gets £3k a week which is pennies to us,
Balogun absolutely deserves to be kept on and he'll be a 5th choice centre back for emergencies and maybe used in league games before big euro ties and such.

He was the best defender in the park yesterday

Ability wise he's the best defender in Scotland even at 36.

It's just his fitness issues that hold him back.

Great back up to have on a pittance of a wage in football terms. It's a no brainier.

29.) 05 May 2025 18:15:22
Or five in 14 days John, again for the wage he's on a years contract would not be end of world, yes put youth first if possible and a think Nisala could be a starter every week as he's the best CB with ball at his feet at club, the boy Fernandez has shown nothing and a think that's why we have not seen much of him, huge turnaround this summer with double figures going out the door so I would keep him around.

30.) 05 May 2025 19:46:03
Orange r in own room

Balogun does not get theee k a week Stevie.

I'm seeing we don't want to improve the menu again

Let's get roofe jack arfield back at same time

We might get second, hopefully hibs a one season wonder.

31.) 05 May 2025 19:41:45
Actually we can argue all we want but as I said yesterday the good news is there will be someone at the club making the decision and not the fans. if Balogun is still here and still the best defender we have next year then we will need a lot of help from a higher source.

Hated Khan for that challenge, Mols still stands out a mile when he plays with the seniors in the fives etc and he's a great guy as well, we were spoiled with some great players and glad I was in my generation to watch them in the blue jersey.

It's the government of these countries not the people Pauly Don, a flag of countries represents the people not the arse***** that run it and the Israeli flag has been seen at ibrox since the 80s since Bonny Ginsburg played for us, if people want to support a player with a flag of their country they have every right too.

The last six months Raskin has controlled games from box to box, him becoming a Belgium mainstay is what will see him get that fee if EPL clubs come calling, a do think doing a deal with him and being able to keep him for one more season is our best chance to win the league tho and a good World Cup next summer and he will smash Scottish transfer record.

Young European/ South American etc that will run through a brick wall for 8 grand a week and that will make you good money is the way we have to proceed with most signings, any player near 25 grand plus ain't happening.

Davies is not a bad player but better for all parties if he moved on, him staying would just hold us back in bringing someone else in.
