Anyone who thinks Tav needs replaces is absolutely deluded. If he was as good at defending as he is going forward he'd be at Real Madrid. He's a good defender and an incredible attacker. We are lucky to have him. Ricksen was overrated, often a liability, and wasn't in the same league and he's also better than Hutton was.

We`ll be looking for a new left back to replace Barisic ( probably Jefte) and left sided centre back to replace Davies who I think we will look to offload . That may mean an extra year for Balogun as cover depending on his fitness. Although he can play alongside Goldson, Souttar should be his long term replacement in the right centre back position. No way we will be looking for a right back to replace Tav especially with Sterling already at the club.

Davidb I have to disagree with you 100% just because we have the best defence in the league at the moment doesn’t mean we shouldn’t want better. For me that’s standing still and a problem we had after 55 and what Celtic have just now. Even if we win the league we still need better players to move the team forward. Ricksen as a right back was actually pretty poor. He got absolutely slated in his first season, couldn’t defend at all and was rightly subbed after about 25mins of his first old firm as Bobby Petta was ripping him to pieces and he was very close to being sent off. Luckily we found a new pos For him as a central mid where he excelled and got voted player of the year.
As a right back Tav is light years ahead of him. Hutton was decent but for all he was thought of as an ‘attacking fullback’ in his days his numbers were minuscule compared to Tav. It’s always the same, folk have the habit of looking back on players of the past with partially selective memories. 100% a few years after Tav has left he’ll be thought of by most as a legend (and probably rightly so).

Saw online that we've scored 1,000 goals since Tav joined the club. He's been involved in >240 of those (scored and assists) . That's a frankly ridiculous number for anyone in anY position. Yet he still gets stick, I think I large part because he's been the captain at one of the toughest points in our history. Thought he was also good at park head so I do believe there’s a player in there. A few weeks ago I’d have let him go but I think we’d be daft to now. Dessers goal was sublime, I actually now think he could be a very effective substitute. Against more tired defenders after silva ran them tired and our new number 9 has us infront. Also I’ve noticed Dessers looks in far better physical condition now- you can even see it in his face.
Fair play big Dessers not many other players if any in the SPL would have scored that. If it was Cantwell we’d be going mental about it. 11 for the season 9 away from 20 which I think he’ll get no problem. I think he’ll get 22/ 23 goals this season.

I wanted balogun back from the start he is a amazing player to have as cover can step in and easy cover a missing cb deserves another year deal imo if his wage demands are not to high.

Just back from hampden where i thought big balogun was superb as was cantwell, who was easily our most creative player and big dessers done well and could easily have scored 5 goals today ?Well done rangers and bring it on on the 25th of may, absolutely nothing to fear if we believe and play to our best ???.

Lundstrum has really frustrated me I wanted rid of him at start of season and under Beale but then Clement seemed to have turned him around but then contract stuff seems to have screwed him up personally I think he’s already got an agreement in place and that’s why tools have went away.

He's only had one bad injury about 5/ 6 years ago, think he'd play dcm for us, played that position for Sunderland before his move to Middlesbrough and played it very well, one of Northern Ireland top performers plays cb but i reckon he's better in the middle of the park he's got a good dig about him, another Rangers man.

Clement needs to drop Tavernier against them sws, Sterling done very well twice at lb against them, be a lot more confident with Sterling coming up against maeda.
