Something clearly isn't right in the dressing room and that must be down to the manager. I thought we made good signings in January with Goss, Murphy, Docherty and Cummings all brought in. We've played well in some games but something isn't right. I don't believe we are as bad as 4-0 suggests. Watching the highlights again there is no way either of the penalties should have been given, very soft. How Morelos didn't score three goals I'll never know. Gordon is either brilliant against us or lucky. I put this down to a very bad day at the office and hopefully changes can be made for the last five games to ensure we finish 2nd. Get rid of Martin as he is a liability.

1.) 16 Apr 2018 11:15:41
Would have more respect for you if you weren’t trying to give excuses both penalties were correct. Not heard a single ex player including a number of your own say different you got pumped end of totally outclassed by a better team

2.) 16 Apr 2018 11:17:59
Doiger ask yourself if that had happened to us in their box and they weren't given We would all be up in arms Mcrorrie penalty was as clear as it can be never saw holts as I'd chucked it by then
I'm surprised at your post you're generally reasonable with your posts but think you're wrong here bud

3.) 16 Apr 2018 11:18:50
Should have taken the £11 million for Morelos but that's hindsight.

4.) 16 Apr 2018 11:25:57
Well said. Yesterday was terrible no one can question that but there have been positives since January. We need three high quality new players (as a minimum) to go straight into the team, there are around 8 positions where we have players who in the right set up can do a job. At this point it is essential that everyone holds their nerve and doesn't get hysterical. We mustn't through the baby out with the bathwater here, we must build on the progress that has been made and not go back to square one yet again.

5.) 16 Apr 2018 11:37:50
There was no £11m for Morelos!

6.) 16 Apr 2018 11:57:53
Doiger sorry mate but in my opinion you are totally wrong, we are lucky that they never scored more than 4, they strolled through the game and never got out of second gear, first half we couldn't pass, kept giving the ball away, didn't get the ball to Murphy or Morelos the list just goes on,
As soon as Alves came on the defence looked more organised and he was winning everything in the air Martin was having another nightmare game,
We are all hurting after yesterday but at least we all now know that we need a manager who can motivate the players,

7.) 16 Apr 2018 11:58:58
ok first of all we were atrocious and they deserved to win absl no question they strolled it and the score cld have been bigger. fact

however 1st pen was a tug a yard outside the box take off your green tinted specs timmy

if that was a pen for us the open line wld be in meltdown with all the usual conspiracies and establishment refs guff . it was a red card but never ever a pen.

that decision would not have changed result but it was still wrong decision just like sterling pen for man city at spurs - it was a yard outside the box

if you can’t see that have another look i know a good guide dog if you need it

8.) 16 Apr 2018 11:59:44
Penalties were both correct decisions stone wall we just didn’t turn up tactics were poor no idea why we played Halliday I know Windass is not everyone’s cup f tea but the thing he can do is run with the ball getting us up the park, we were stuck in our own half Celtic were all over us, but I agree with you TomVallance we can just condem all players we showed in the home game we can compete with them to a degree, they are still a good bit ahead of us, but with a good manager (I’ve no idea who) who can get the best out of players and three or four quality additions especially at the back and a midfield player who can compete with Brown we would at least make a game of it, Murty has been hung out to dry by this board he’s never a manager he was the U20s coach for Christ sake, theboard really need to take a look at themselves that three managers they have appointed wasted millions and we are no further forward unless there are changes soon we could end not even in a Euro spot and next season will be a fight for second again, my fear is fans will drift away season ticket sales will decline I’m old enough to remember sitting inside Ibrox with less than 20000 fans, the ones I have spoke to are loosing the will my renewal is just short of £600 not cheap but I fear we are becoming the new Leeds Utd a big club who got it wrong fans drift and the ones who are left just accept it, right now we need leaders right from the boardroom to the pitch, look at yesterday we had no leaders on the pitch no one to drive us on a manager who doesn’t command respect, why did the board come out with that statement last week basically saying a new manager would come in next season we were about to play our biggest game and the manager was undermined, we have to stand firm we need to stay together and the board need to act

9.) 16 Apr 2018 14:35:52
I agree thinkaboutit, I have followed Rangers for 57 years, and this is the worst team I have seen, and there have been one or two horrendous displays. Murty's tactics were totally wrong, we sat too deep and against this Celtic side that is suicidal. I thought that Tavernier was the only player with some sort of pass mark yesterday, Halliday reacted through embarrassment when he raged after being taken off, I personally would have taken Dorrans off instead of Candeis as he offered nothing all game, as for Martin enough has been said already. What has Cummings got to do to get some game time just now, the lad proved often enough against us that he can be problematic in big games, Morelos has had his chance and blown it in the big games, he tries hard, but whatever was offered from China or wherever should have been accepted. I look at the journeymen that Motherwell have brought in, in particular the man who replaced Moult, and wonder what the hell Mark Allen is getting paid for. If the rumours of GM having stepped down, I wouldn't blame him, and thank him for at least trying to get things sorted, too much for him though.

10.) 16 Apr 2018 15:38:56
Haven't seen or read anything bout Murty going back to youth but we can only hope. Silence from board regarding successor is deafening.

11.) 16 Apr 2018 17:49:43
They were both 100% penalties that is a fact

12.) 16 Apr 2018 19:40:19
If Murty didn’t fancy the job then all he had to say was no thanks, he didn’t and it’s not worked out for him. He shouldn’t be above criticism though.

13.) 17 Apr 2018 09:42:26
Got to laugh at that Trev, comment, a tug outside the box means it wasn't a penalty, maybe if Dembelle had been tripped outside the box and then he had stumbled inside the box, you might have an argument, but a tug and then he ran strongly into the box before getting more or less wrestled by McCrorie, are you allowed to drive with those blue lenses?

05 Feb 2018 16:40:15
Nobody really expects us to win the league this season did they? It is great that the new signings have come in but they will need time to bed in and have barely played a game for us yet. Also, surely the fact that players like Dorrans, Jack, McCrorie Alves, Wallace and Miller are injured means something?

A midfield in whatever format containing Jack, Dorrans, Murphy, Docherty and McCrorie would be much stronger? I still think 2nd is achievable and as has proved again, Septic will keep dropping points. If Morelos is going to sulk, get rid and recall Hardie from loan.

1.) 05 Feb 2018 23:22:42
I my opinion McCrorie is much more suited to being a centre half. He was just used in midfield to plug a gap.

2.) 06 Feb 2018 08:14:51
Agree follow follow I'd like to see mcrorie and Martin at centre half and rossiter and docherty in midfield with Dorrans Murphy and candias! Need a striker as Alfredo is going and kenny is past it

3.) 06 Feb 2018 13:47:38
We forgetting Sean Goss he's the best player we have
brought in this Jan so far. Goss Rossiter and docherty in the middle

4.) 10 Feb 2018 15:19:24
Would like to c Bates keeping his spot in the defence to be honest the boy is turning into a real player his positioning is brilliant and his passing is getting better

25 Jan 2018 12:15:12
Docherty medical was due at 10.30 today. Haven't heard anymore. Also, looks like Alves will stay as the Italian club are to sign Sagna instead. Worth keeping him until the end of the season if he stays fit.

1.) 25 Jan 2018 13:51:37
Just seen a video of him driving through the gates on Twitter Doiger, would expect the Announcement and the club photos done by tonight!

2.) 25 Jan 2018 14:47:06
Great news Wee Bear. I'm really excited about the January signings!

3.) 25 Jan 2018 17:23:06
Signing imminent at 1720
Completed Medical, agreed terms just doing some media work for the club then set to be unveiled around 6pm

4.) 25 Jan 2018 18:31:16
Why have we gave in to such a high sell on clause for Docherty? after all £680,000 is more than a fair price for a 21 year old player who hasn't really done much in the game or international game yet, don't get me wrong i am excited by this transfer but Sell ons are normally 10% or 20% of any future transfer fee so Why have we agreed to 25% to me that's crazy agreeing to a quarter of any future transfer, surely we could of said 15% max and even in the end agreed to 20% and even that is a lot but Would have been better and more fair, Murty or DOF must want Docherty bad cause we told other Scottish clubs were to go when they tried playing hard ball with fees example Hearts the Sheep to name a few, but I would rather give Hamilton the money for a good player than the likes of Hearts and the sheep for the same player any day of the week, Give them Nothing!

5.) 25 Jan 2018 18:38:23
Your timing is off on Docherty deal, TheGlasgowranger, you sure you weren't just guessing with your info? or if you weren't guessing can i ask where your info came from and what source? plz.

6.) 25 Jan 2018 21:17:11
Now confirmed on official website!

7.) 25 Jan 2018 22:09:42
This has been our most successful January transfer to date in recent years

24 Jan 2018 09:48:42
Scottish Sun reports Docherty signing today after a medical. Good news given the long-term injuries to Dorrans, Wallace and now Jack - apparently Jack might not play again this season? Murty should throw Goss, Murphy and Docherty straight into the team with Cummings and el Buffalo up-front.

1.) 24 Jan 2018 10:40:28
Docherty won't play tonight if he's only completing his deal today lol, he's probably not even spoken to any of our team yet let alone trained with them.

2.) 24 Jan 2018 10:44:09
Could be an advantage then CMRFC, lol

07 Jan 2018 06:23:18
Scottish Sun confirm today that Murphy has signed on loan.

1.) 07 Jan 2018 07:31:31
I think now we need a striker in because we can’t go the rest of the season with Morelos up front because he isn’t the answer. A good guy to have on the bench but that’s it. He lacks pace and can’t beat a man and his finishing a lot of the times is woeful. If we can get the 5-10 million for him from villa that a lot of the folk on here were debating about a couple of months ago then even better.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 07:45:50
Eh? You don't rate Morelos, fair enough but you think he's worth £5-£10m but only a squad player, subby? Morelos is our best striker, our top scorer, in his first season, in a new country. He's played up on his own for large parts of the season without a recognized number 10 behind him. He's been one of the few successful summer signs.
Who do you think we should replace him with Rick?

3.) 07 Jan 2018 07:49:41
He is the top goal scorer in the league and an excellent young talent but you say he’s rubbish but you want 10million for him?

4.) 07 Jan 2018 08:42:06
He's still just a young boy and you need to remember he has played half a season in Finland before he came to us. Add that to the fact he's up front on his own almost all of the time, he's bound to be tired at times and go off the boil! Expect more to come from him

5.) 07 Jan 2018 08:53:33
How can you possibly say you don’t rate the guy but want 5-10 mill for him? He’s played up top himself most of the season he doesn’t give defenders a minutes peace, the laddie can finish. Granted he had a poor day in front of goal against Celtic but I would be more concerned if he wasn’t getting any chances, I agree that we need another striker but to play WITH him not in place of him. Desperately need a creative midfielder.

6.) 07 Jan 2018 08:56:25
Great bit if business, relies on Murphy proving he is good enough to wear the badge before we buy him like it should be. Regarding us being skint and relying on director loans, weren’t a lot of people complaining that King hasn’t invested 30mill Now that he providing this through loans all of a sudden the focus of the media is that we are skint? Was always the plan from king, invest until we are back playing consistently in Europe and then we will be self funded. Am quite happy how the board are running things financially.

7.) 07 Jan 2018 09:49:19
Full of negativity Rick. Cheer up mate it’s not that bad 😂

8.) 07 Jan 2018 10:28:59
I think yous were lost with my sarcasm. Of course I don’t think he’s worth that and was ridiculed at the time for saying he’s not even worth £2m when yous were all debating whether we should sell him or not if we get an offer between £5m-£10m from Aston Villa who aparantly were interested at the time which I doubt and a few even said nothing less than £8m would be acceptable! Comical.

9.) 07 Jan 2018 10:44:22
Rick so he is a bench player, our bench players are now worth £5-10 mill so does that mean our other first team regulars will be worth £30-40 mill you could buy the whole team for under £10 mill but your judgement of Morelos is strange he is our top scorer the leagues top scorer he has played the loan striker Roll his holding up of the ball to allow other players forward is great work rate great I think with someone up there with him you will see just how good he can become

10.) 07 Jan 2018 12:22:26
For me Morelos is proving to be Superb value for £1M, one of only a handful of successful signings that we’ve made in the last 6 years. He will only improve in the years to come and while he may never be a £10M striker he will be great in our league and if we can get him better service from Murphy etc. then he may hit 30 goals this season. I do agree with Rick W that we need a striker in this window as well, we shouldn’t be going into games vs the bottom 6 without 2 up top!

11.) 07 Jan 2018 12:28:18
Morelos is still a work in progress, right now we need a more experienced striker. Morelos had a poor game against Celtic and msde some basic errors, we need someone who csn do it in the bigger games!

12.) 07 Jan 2018 14:10:15
Well said blueberry. Worth 5-10 million but he should be on bench, some people talk some u know what. Get a grip.

13.) 07 Jan 2018 14:13:03
10 million his middle name must be dembelle

14.) 08 Jan 2018 00:33:28
The best natural and explosive finisher at the club is the boy Dodoo. Disappointed does not appear to be on plane for Florida.

24 May 2018 10:26:15
The hysteria in the press is continuing. They know absolutely nothing about Rangers and Gerrard's plans to sign players, nor do they know the situation regarding new finance coming to Rangers. We should all calm down and not make assumptions. How do we know Skrtel was ever going to be a signing target anyway? I'm looking forward to SG taking the reins on 1st June, then we'll see.

1.) 24 May 2018 10:41:08
O’dear. let’s not bury our head in the sand, Skrtel was a target who we were priced out of, (no doubt we knew this when realising information to the press that we looking at him) however a bit of press while selling season tickets after a disappointing season is never a bad thing!

2.) 24 May 2018 10:52:29
Ridiculous statement to make his agent has said what was offered a 5th of what he is on currently and Dave king didn't want to pay a fee where they want 5 million

3.) 24 May 2018 11:03:03
Dave king isn't going to pay over the odds for a 34 yr old with a year left on his contract and pay him rubbish loads then not get any resale value . rangers should be going down the morelos road buy in young promising players to sell on

4.) 24 May 2018 11:22:42
How about James Collins? Released from West Ham. I know he's 34 but surely worth a season or 2?

5.) 24 May 2018 11:39:07
He’d 100% shore up our defence.

6.) 24 May 2018 11:59:48
Agreed. Big Collins would do us a turn for a earn at least

7.) 24 May 2018 12:22:20
I would like Skrtel to sign but not at any price. The figures that are getting banded about for a 33 year old for fee and wages are a joke. I would be more worried if we caved in and paid what they want. Think we should move on and look elsewhere.

8.) 24 May 2018 12:25:59
His club didn’t want him to go so priced him at 5m. Rangers were willing to pay just over half of that and after sounding his agent out they believed a salary could be achieved. They were never going to match his current earnings but he’s now been made aware of other options where he can actually increase his salary. Unfortunately this was SG first choice CB and deal is dead. It won’t be the first player we try to get and be priced out of it and thus happens at every club so it’s not a board failing.

9.) 24 May 2018 23:01:38
@hollow55 - nearly 40000 season tickets sold before we were even in for Skrtel so you are talking Tom Kite when saying it was a marketing ploy.
Remember we sold 30000+ season tickets when Sandaza was our ‘ big name signing ‘! 😂
One thing about Rangers fans we always back the team in huge numbers.
P. S. What do celtic fans and Rangers fans have in common?
They both buy season tickets to guarantee to see The Famous Glasgow Rangers👍🔴⚪️🔵👍

17 May 2018 12:00:46
It seems that talks have begun with Solanke and Defoe. If so, the latter in particular could score goals for fun in Scotland. Oh, and Celtic have valued Tierney at £30 million. Good player though he is, that manky mob ain't half deluded!

1.) 17 May 2018 12:25:56
Tierneys good but he's no Andy Robertson. 30 million? They're dreaming.

2.) 17 May 2018 12:50:44
Not convinced on Solanke. Defoe I obviously has a reputation but I haven’t watched him closely since his years at Spurs and Sunderland. If he is still the same player then yes, could be ideal.

3.) 17 May 2018 13:36:03
Poseidon. I take it you never saw Solanke play on Sunday. the boy looks dynamite!

4.) 17 May 2018 13:55:11
Solanke would be a great signing.

5.) 17 May 2018 15:09:58
It was B30.

That’s 30 million Brenda Bitcoins

6.) 17 May 2018 16:02:50
I take it you never seen him in the under 20 championship with England where he was top goal scorer and player of the tournament! Solanke and Defoe up front nxt season we will be a force once again I have no doubt about that!

7.) 17 May 2018 16:39:02
We were top scorers in the league. Attacking is not our problem.

06 May 2018 11:14:45
I hope Gerrard sticks with McCrorie, Murphy, Dorrans, Jack and Morelos at least, plus maybe Tavernier and Docherty. However, another clear-out is coming and hopefully three or four big signings coming in. We only need to finish 2nd or 3rd to get into Europe (4th if Motherwell don't win the Scottish Cup) . Celtic may yet finish only single figures ahead of us so surely that is a big improvement from last season and after having three managers!

1.) 06 May 2018 11:32:58
Totally agree Doiger great post maybe with candeas and I think after the last free games keeper Alwick deserves a crack

2.) 06 May 2018 11:58:46
Doig, we have to get rid of Morelos as he is a liability nearly being sent of every game he plays, plus the flash in the pan goal scoring when he came to us originally has ended.

3.) 06 May 2018 12:02:36
I think McCrorie, Jack an Moreles have a chance but we will never compete with Celtic If Dorrans, Docherty and Murphy are the standard we aspire to. These guys are not winners with no leadership and showed this in the recent Celtic games. Dorrans in particular has been the most disappointing ( only second to Windass) .

4.) 06 May 2018 12:12:03
Have you noticed he stopped scoring when Miller got injured and no longer played alongside him

5.) 06 May 2018 12:25:35
I really don’t rate Jack he’s a complete liability, Docherty and McCrorie are the future and derserve to keep there place, I just hope they have some more experience next to the to help left some of the pressure

6.) 06 May 2018 13:09:08
I would sell Morelos, goals have dried up, appears to have an attitude which could result in red cards. Should have took that 11 million for him. LOL.

7.) 06 May 2018 13:15:53
So you'd bin Declan John?

8.) 06 May 2018 15:30:57
Jacks a liability aye right jack was the best player we had before he got injured aye he got a few reds but most were turned over Ryan jack will be future rangers captain

9.) 06 May 2018 15:50:09
Jack is only average and not the sort of player if we are to challenge Celtic. Dorrans has been very poor and Murphy has been awful against Celtic. Can’t see him being signed

10.) 06 May 2018 16:18:29
hi fellow bears lots of comments on here about who should stay and who is coming in who should go i honestly don't know but we cannot keep players because:- if the play alongside so in so or such n such they might improve or help their game? if they are not good enough offski! simple as that really and that has been said by SG himself!

11.) 07 May 2018 07:31:42
Got to have a bit of continuity tho mate signing too many is never a good idea if we can add 5 maybe 6 of a good quality to supplement the squad we won't be far away. 2 ch 2cm a rw and a 25-30 a season striker would be my priority. sure the new boss will have names in mind

04 May 2018 11:32:11
Good morning Bears. Well, I'm 67 years old and have supported my beloved Rangers all my life (my grandfather played for them just before World War I) . Like most of you I've lived through the good and bad times. I must admit to feeling very emotional, happy and excited today about the Gerrard appointment. This shows real ambition and all credit to Dave King in getting to this position. Surely the players can lift themselves for the last three games to impress Gerrard if nothing else. Good times are just around the corner again but hurry up before I'm deid!

1.) 04 May 2018 12:14:18
That actually made me laugh out loud Doiger. don't worry mate you’ve still a good score left in you yet. 😂😂
I’m pretty sure you’ll see us lift a few trophies before you say hello to the big man upstairs👍🏻

2.) 04 May 2018 12:27:22
Well said Doiger, you are a good lad and we all LOVE the Rangers! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

3.) 04 May 2018 12:44:54
Cheers Colster! Maybe God is Bill Struth!

4.) 04 May 2018 13:18:38
Good on you Doiger, same age as myself, and probably had the same rollercoaster supporting our beloved team. Follow Follow.

02 May 2018 10:34:34
I don't think we are as far behind the manky mob as lots of people are making out. We may well still finish 2nd and by a much lesser margin than our third place finish last season. Something happened after the 3-2 defeat at Ibrox, a match we should have won. Murty lost the dressing room and the confidence went down the pan. I agree a clear-out is essential but there are some decent players that the like of Steve Gerrard can get the best out of, including McCrorie, John, Murphy, Dorrans, Jack, Morelos and Rossiter. The dark side must be panicking given all the trolls desperate to dissuade Gerrard from coming to Ibrox!

1.) 02 May 2018 11:13:57
Agree doiger. I'd add Arfield barjonas to your list, hopefully one or two youths like Wilson, Middleton, Steven Kelly
I like Cummings too
We have to move guys like food, Tav, windlass especially if English clubs want them

2.) 02 May 2018 12:13:57
In what way should you have won Doiger?

You were at home

Handed the first goal within minutes of KO

And played against 10 men for the majority of second half!

Please explain why you SHOULD have won? The fact we won under those circumstances only again highlights how far you are behind!

3.) 02 May 2018 12:19:33
Jboy. I have always been critical of Tav's defensive qualities but if we sell him whi do we replace him with?

4.) 02 May 2018 12:45:39
Pretty sure Mark Allen and Stevie Gerard can come up with an improvement on Tav :)

5.) 02 May 2018 13:24:42
Sorry Doiger, i disagree, we've proved on the field we're so far behind them, maybe we should've won the 3-2 game but we didn't and from then on, the players knew they weren't good enough to compete. I believe something has happened behind closed doors but players MUST be professional, to loose 9 goals in 2 games against them tells you they're better than us. at present but hopefully not for long.

6.) 02 May 2018 13:37:58
Parky someone much better, only way we catch them. Are u advocating we keep people not good enough

7.) 02 May 2018 13:43:11
". that the like of Steve Gerrard can get the best out of".
That is shear speculation. Where is your evidence?
Apart from the fact that his name is Steven Gerrard, I don't see what his qualifications are for such a big job. Only a week or so ago people were being shot down for suggesting a possible future manager, because others thought they had no experience and had won nothing as a manager. What happened to all of those arguments? I hope you all realise we are approaching him to sign as a manager/ head coaching not as a player.

It is bad enough with idiots like Hartson, Sutton, Rodgers, Strachan et al pouring cold water over Gerrards's anticipated arrival but I'm also sick to death of the likes of McCoist, Ferguson, Boyd and other ex-Rangers players doing the same. Why don't they shut up and why doesn't McCoist invest some of his money to help the club, much of which he earned for doing sweet FA when he was manager. End of rant!

blueger69. Most of our youngsters haven't been given a chance over the last five or six years! Hardie and Burt are classic cases from the current crop. Bates was just breaking through and is now gone. McCrorie does have a lot of promise, given time. Also, Aiden Wilson, Barjonas, Atakaya? I recall McCoist didn't take any chances and signed duff has-beens rather than give the kids a chance. I've been mocked on here before about Hardie but surely he couldn't be worse than Morelos! I wonder how we would have done over the last few weeks if Ryan Jack, Rossiter and Wallace had all been fit?

Any business in the UK can choose when their own financial year starts and ends. The tax year (fiscal year) as determined by HMRC ends on 5th April each year.

Negative crap! Get behind your club. Gerrard is the best thing that has happened to our club for 20 years or more.

There is no point in having a youth system if the youngster are never going to be given a chance. There is an old saying, 'if you are good enough you are old enough'. I think I first heard that about Denis Law and later George Best. McCoist had the chance to build a new squad with youngsters when we were put into the lowest tier but decided saving his own skin was more important so he signed duds. I've been a fan of Hardie for some time now and don't understand why he hasn't been given a chance. So I'm all for the kids being blooded, perhaps in the League Cup initially.

Who says that SG wants McBurnie and Marriott as his strikeforce next season? I wish I had this amazing access to rumours and information that some on here seem to have!
