Nominations for player of the year in League 1 - Law, Daly and Wallace from Rangers and Moffat from Ayr BUT more interestingly nominations in the Championship, Rory Loy of Falkirk, Kane Hemmings of Cowdenbeath and Peter McDonald of Dundee among them - all 3 ex Rangers players not deemed good enough for us by various managers and discarded - but obviously good enough for the league we are in next season!

EK Bear

1.) Peter macdonald lol he was at rangers over 12 year ago as a youth player

2.) Was surprised to see Law nominated. Think the people deciding that must have stopped watching Law after he officially signed for the club. He has been the biggest disappointment of the season. Closely followed by Clark

3.) Stewie u cannot blame clark he has not had enough game time and none in his preffered position he scored goals for fun with q o s every player who has been signed has went back due to a lack of coaching tyey only train a few hrs everyday off on a wednesday where real teams are coached o play different systems in one game if the way they are playing isn't working mind other teams don't have a j daly t lump the ball to as a only system

4.) @3 where on my post do I blame Clark for anything? I stated he has been disappointing this season. Don't think that's to far off the mark. I am sure he would admit himself he has had a disappointing season

I despair when I read some of the comments on here. I'm 47, watched my first game at Ibrox against Kilmarnock in 1973, bought a half season ticket for £30 in 1986 and sat in the same seat at every home game since, 28 years and counting. I've seen good times and bad times, mainly good. Now we're in a bit of a hole and all of a sudden some of our fans think they have the right to pillory everything and anything about the club and those who run it. Yes, the last few years have been a shambles, yes the club has been owned and run by men that don't deserve to be associated with our great club and yes, the manager and players are probably not what we would like to see at the club or good enough to take us back to where we belong and where we should be, BUT, we are, or claim to be, supporters and fans of Glasgow Rangers FC - so for god sake support the club! Rangers til we die.

1.) I agree with most of what you say except that you then went on to contradict yourself by criticising the players and manager why not just support the team?

2.) I am 61 and watshed them through good and bad we are not demeaning everything rangers in all the timei have watched macoist tactics are the worst I can remember and right now the players maybe are not the best but should be good enough for our league position I reckon macoist is a bigger danger to the club than the board is if 10/15%dont rennew tickets on top of having to pay 1.5 million back along with interest on 1 million out of season book money that could leave 3/4million hole in budget on top of what the loss already made is a big big problem me thinks

3.) 22 Mar 2014 16:00:59
OP I can only agree with @1. You support rangers but agree its a shambles, we're being run by shysters, and manager and team not good enough. Why the despair at what we say on here - you fit right in!

4.) Op if nobody complained then thing would stay the same as now that is a fact cause poeple running our club are only out to make other people more millions they don't know much about football but know lots about making money when companies are down on there luck

5.) Maybe I didn't put my point across properly - saying the players or manager are not what we would like or not good enough isn't necessarily a criticism, more a point of view - my point was that we've had many world class players and top drawer managers in my time of watching Rangers - and although the current team and manager is not at that high level I will still be there to support the team and always will be - i'm just really fed up with some so called fans and fan groups who seem to revel in having a go at the club in general and are simply posturing to be a lead figure in 'saving' the club.

6.) 23 Mar 2014 09:14:16
@5 so you're saying its ok to moan about the players and manager, but not ok to moan about "the club in general"? And its ok to moan a bit but not to take action to try to change things? Sounds like you just have a bad case of nostalgia and wish the glory days were back again. Try and think for a second that we never could afford those glory days, and if we hadnt arrogantly ignored warnings about that years ago we might not have ended up where we are now. that's why people are anxious to take an interest in the boardroom this time round.

7.) Ok paulineblue72 - you win! I didn't come here for an argument but obviously whatever I say you're going to read something else into it and come up with a different point of view, proves my point really.

EK you're the one that's arguing- with yourself! You came on here saying you despaired at what you read here and telling us to support the team. But then you make exactly the same complaints while implying that you're still a better fan than the rest of us! Did you think we'd all just let you insult us like that without reply? The only point that's been proved here is the size of your self-contradicting big head.

We could probably all name a few 'best' ever teams/players - or worst - we've been spoiled over the last 25-30 years with the quality of players and managers we've had - these days will return again and hopefully with a few home grown talents that we'll all be proud to support.

craigs8688, never mind has McCall watched the last few games, Jig has been done since our days in league 2, remember Annan beating us 2-1 in March 2013? For me the writing was on the wall that day for Jig, been a great servant and stuck by the club in its darkest times, BUT, and it's a big but, if, as is rumoured, that Jig has a clause in his contract that he plays whenever fit then we really do have a problem - how can McCall, or any other manager, change things or pick the team he wants when previous regimes have given contracts to certain players that state they will play every game when fit?

I am george - really? you call yourself a Rangers fan but still make a statement like "THE WORST RANGER IN OUR HISTORY IN MY OPINION AND HE SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED INSIDE IBROX AGAIN PERIOD" about Ally McCoist? We can all say that Ally was a poor manager at best and utterly useless at worst - but to say what you say just makes you look stupid - so our top all time top scorer in modern times is the worst Rangers player ever? - worse than Jim Denny, Billy Urqhuart, Gregor Stevens and the list goes on. Sad if this is what we've come to - slagging off great ex-players who have contributed hugely to our great club in the past, given what the club is going through at the moment - you should be ashamed of that post

Totally agree with all the previous posts - at least Mike Ashley is a proven success as a businessman with no baggage or apparent skeletons in the cupboard. Why our various supporter's groups (which in reality only represent a fraction of our total support and fan base) seem to take against anyone who's name is not Dave King is beyond me. Given the position we're in I would welcome a man like Ashley who we know has the money and the business acumen to make a success of running our club. He might not be everyone's cup of tea but he'll do more good things than bad things for the club, unlike all of our recent owners and directors - good luck to him if he's serious about mounting a takeover for the club.
