Been mulling over yesterdays game, and it strikes me the similarities to previous games. The goal they got chopped off, panic in our defence, everyone standing off, no one taking responsibility to clear the ball. First goal, attack down the left, simple ball across the 6 yard line, Kyogo unmarked to score in the middle of the goal - how many times recently?
Their other two goals, sloppy and weak. Do I think there's much in the teams?, no I dont. It was a much better game from us with more intensity, yet I'd still say we had very few players actually turned up. What I do think is that a lot of it is in the players heads, and MB needs to fix that. We need better players yes, but we need winners with a stronger mindset - and quickly.

In the good old days, one of our hard men would be told to stick with Kyogi and not let him near the ball, have him in his back pocket, why can’t MB see this.

Not so easy . have you watched his movement. Because he is so small agile and nippy he is hard to trac. We were very unlucky overall in my opinion.

I know its a subject we have all gone over before - but lots of stuff in the papers today about Gilmour. Getting to the age he needs game time, not playing for his club or national team now, and down the pecking order for both. Question is would he walk into our team? i'm not so sure. We have the makings of a good starting 3 already. (assuming Jack stays and stays fit) Looked at our bench before the Motherwell game, and for the first time in a while thought we also had genuine options to bring on and change a game. Add to that what Beale has up his sleeve this summer as options to come in, BG could quite possibly find himself on our bench if he did come back.

Gilmour would walk into our team and automatically improve it. I'm not a fan at all of John Lundstram. Gilmour is 10x the player that Lundstram thinks he is!

If we were to sign him he would be one of the 4 to cover the two deeper positions in midfield alongside, Raskin, Jack and Lundstram and would have to earn his place just like the others . This is assuming we sell Kamara of course which creates a space in that area.

Gil our would be the best player in Scotland if we signed him. We can’t afford him. Imo he should move to Spain and really come into his own and become world class.

He would be a great addition to our midfield but I don’t see it tbh I think Tillman is going to sign and couldn’t see us spending ~5m on any other single player without selling someone for a similar amount. If we could sell Kamara and Hagi to fund Tillman and Gilmour that would be incredible business but I don’t think it’s realistic. Apart from anything else I don’t even think 5m would get us him as Brighton paid 10 just a few months ago and I’d imagine they’d want to break even on him. Maybe Kamara plus a fee as a swap deal but I doubt Brighton would want him. A loan may be an option but I don’t think we’re going to be in the market for many loans that don’t have a future fee agreed.

When playing in Scotland and in Europe we more often than not need more of what lundstrom has than gilmour. Physicality is a must in this league.

Everyone of they 3 win the ball back, Gilmour would be great playing in between them but he would be challenging Jack, hopefully Jack is fit next season because he's a good cm.

They don't want sell him mate, and if they sell top assets for even half of that money they will heavily reinvest back into the squad potentially leaving BG in the same position, they would be open to a loan move if the terms etc are right.

Forgot to add Beale making Europe will likely have some say, if they somehow fail to finish in a EL/ EC place then they say see that as an opportunity to give BG gametime, but if they quakofy for Europe can see them investing a good chunk for the new season.

Im wondering if GVB's training methods maybe contributed to our injury woes? Its been said he was more interested in working with the ball and less on fitness and conditioning. i'm no medical expert but know that the more intense you train, you are fitter, stronger and have more stamina. Could that have had a detrimental effect on how robust our players were therefore making them more susceptible? (not all I appreciate as we have some long term injuries)

Long time follower of this site, and it saddens me that I feel compelled to make my first post about fans who are disgracing our proud club. Time to act Rangers and remove the rights for these fans to attend games home and away and allow true Rangers fans to take their place and follow the club as it should be followed, with respect, honour and pride.

Celtic have the same problem and so too do Aberdeen. The clubs know who they are of course, but there doesn't seem to be a club in Scotland with the temerity to stand up to it and until they do that, it isn't going to get any better. These supporters of course may not know what is offensive to the club and so a warning letter explaining what is offensive seems like the right place to start. I'll bet you anything you like that hasn't been done yet.

I think we have to start the campaign strongly, put them under pressure. For that we need the strongest squad. If that means paying now for a player we can get in January for free, so be it. Money well spent in my opinion.

Mols - there were pictures in the press of Danilo doing extra training on his own during the international break to boost his fitness. Heres hoping Dessers was somewhere doing the same and we see a difference when both return ?.

I wouldn't be too far off your list. i'd keep Matondo though, or at least give him the next 5 games to let him have a run. He can actually go past a player and has looked a little more dangerous. Everyone knows there's a difference between fit and match sharp, he might surprise a few.

Matondo is struggling for confidence, there's been a player there before. Kent under GVB couldn't beat a man and at times hardly make a simple pass. Now he’s getting back to his best with some confidence. Maybe a loan to someone where he will get more game time, and I still think there’s potentially a player in him.
