At Hamilton watching Cole McKinnon, told we have scout at Bristol watching cooper.

Is this Cooper from Milwall, John? Is he any good? Been linked to us for years now!

2.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 17:22:29
Cooper would be a great signing, I'd have loved him in the summer, we were supposed to be linked with him then, big, strong defender, wins a lot of balls in the air, just the type of defender we need.

3.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 17:37:24
jake cooper is a very good ch.

4.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 17:56:23
How did McKinnon play.

5.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 17:58:10
Seems a no nonsense type centre back.

6.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 18:57:56
Very good CH, you say John? Wins a lot of balls in the air, Mark? If we are indeed interested, get him signed! How much do you think he'd cost? I know it's just a guesstimate, but what sort of ballpark figure are we looking at?

7.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 19:01:16
Mark 6-6 does not lose much in air and can tackle.

8.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 19:20:47
John- Is Jake Cooper one for the January transfer window? plus what is the latest on Connor Goldson as there seems to be conflicting news.

9.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 19:22:28
Down, as John has posted he's 6-6 so wins a lot of headers, scores goals as well, around 20 for his club.

10.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 19:30:19
Down, probably around 4 million, helander wages would cover his wages easily. Reputed to be on around 11k a week, his contract up june23. So mb a deal can be negotiated.

Transfermarket value him at 3.6 million, at 27 I feel a good age, equally comfortable in a back three or four.
Possible downside prefers the left side, but for me he’s not a Goldson replacement, but a helander replacement

I’d sign him on a bosman in January and see if we need to get him in early or summer.

11.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 19:35:36
Bgate, played left midfield, 90 min, looked very assured, thistle fans love them. talk Newcastle have watched him 4-5 times.

Thistle guy I was with said rangers plan to recall in January, look at him and mb loan him to st mirren or m well

Weston never got a sniff again, really not rated by them.

12.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 21:02:37
Copland how are there conflicting reports when the manager literally said he'll be out for "several months"?

13.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 22:07:54
They are no conflicted reports with Goldson he is out for several months.

14.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 22:43:05
Newcastle could go out and buy a world
Class centre back they ain’t after him maybe few years back but now can’t see it.

15.) 15 Oct 2022
15 Oct 2022 23:17:22
English teams pick up anyone with a bit of potential. This has been happening for years. Billy Gilmore is the prime example. So it’s hardly surprising If Newcastle are looking at him. Doesn’t mean that he will be first pick centre half.

16.) 16 Oct 2022
16 oct 2022 01:52:53
should have went for cooper to replace helander long ago i'd be amazed if helander ever plays for rangers again, good big defender is cooper, ideal in an old firm environment, strong, tall and brave.

17.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 02:12:13
Wilson should have kept balogun katic ? or at least kept balogun and loaned out katic also wondering if sands will be away in January can't see us paying the millions wanted for him.

18.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 06:58:13
bassey it’s cole mckinnon newcastle want.

19.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 07:00:11
is that balogun who lasted 14 minutes before getting injured
sands was 18 months loan deal. so at moment here till june.

20.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 08:11:48
As John said, Sands here to June. Is he worth 4m? Not a chance! Not from what I have seen, anyway. He's definitely not a CH. Not the type we require!
This boy Cooper, from what John, and Mark say, is. 6'6, dominant in the air, who can tackle, and is just the type we are crying out for. If this guy is out of contract next summer, get him signed in January, and test Milwall to get him in earlier. The problem I could see is, if Milwall are in the running for promotion to EPL, they'll never let him go. Too much money at stake. Far too much for us to offer anything acceptable. And If they are in the running, would he really want to leave them? If they offer him a new contract, and there is a chance of promotion, surely he'd want to stay and play there? Who knows?

21.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 10:44:21
Lol linked with cooper again will everyone blame gio if he's crap to ? and people still think manager signing players ????

How long have we been linked with cooper again long before gio oh aye ?

No wonder we are a train wreck had enough of this director of football bull.

22.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 11:53:54
Gofor so Gio can’t say, yes I like what I see.

I love our dof great guy does his business well,
U really do not know how a modern day football club operates in terms off recruitment

Tell me who u would sign,

We know for fact Gio picked sands Tillman matondo Colak Lawrence
Chose to keep McGregor Davis kamara Arfield
Defo approve Souttar
Unless of course Gio is a liar, and is so weak he allows players to be foisted on him.

23.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 16:51:08
Lol John so you think it was posteglu or Celtic that identified maeda kyogo abada hatate.

24.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 20:11:51
Gofor no as they don’t have a dof,

25.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 21:14:28
John was sands fee not due in January if we want to keep.

26.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 21:20:05
John behave . colak was notice by club playing against us . before gio was there

Lawrence was linked with us for a few seasons before gio

Matondo was linked with us before schalke and again before gio

And I call bull on Davis arfield the club gave them deals as a reward for going to final and McGregor deal was always on table it's just he turned on retirement last min

Kamara would have walked for nowt so obviously you would give him a deal

Behave John.

27.) 16 Oct 2022
16 Oct 2022 21:20:46
And again souttar was decided well before gio club signings.

28.) 17 Oct 2022
17 Oct 2022 09:34:52
Director of football is the way every big club is run, gone are the days when a Sir Alex controls every aspect of a club. It also provides consistency when say, A Gerrard leaves. They identify targets, the manager has a say but for years good players have went to huge clubs like ours and not been able to handle the pressure. Think Soutar could still come good, he had an undiagnosed foot injury which has been fixed and obvs list his brother, Lawrence great, collak great, thought Tilman was good yesterday and still young. Matondo will come good too I think. Actually the poorer performances are Kent, thought Tavs looked off it this year too.

29.) 17 Oct 2022
17 Oct 2022 12:34:54
Bazbear, you've made some good points, I'm not sure about Matondo coming good, he's the one signing we made during the summer that I've serious doubts about.

30.) 17 Oct 2022
17 Oct 2022 13:13:29
Certainly don’t agree gofor. But like u I’m entitled to my opinion.

31.) 19 Oct 2022
19 Oct 2022 17:26:00
Consistency is fine if everything ticking along well but when you get a few of big Ayers leaving and a. lot injured at the same time and you let two of your biggest assets walk for free it then becomes a major rebuild like Celtic did and in that situation you need the manager to recruit or you will struggle.

I'd rather a football man recruit players than a business man every time, if your scouting system is good you can maybe get away with a director of football but everyone knows of scouting is lazy in the extreme.
