Not sure at all about Harry Souttar.
He has only played 130 games since 2015.
That's 8 years!
Fit players do that in 3 years!
Feels like a bomb scare!

I think if we get him for around £8m we should buy and never mind the loan.
Better than cooper by a mile and we don’t need a left winger anymore as Matondo has stepped up, would be insane to now sign someone in his position.
I was one of his biggest critics so for me to say he’s now the man for that position on the squad is a big deal. He looks the part, still rough at final decision shoot/ pass but it’s definitely there to get out him.

The £5m saves from demari gray and ded to jake cooper fee, combine them and sign Souttar. He would be worth every penny. We need to realise players don’t come cheap all the time and we need to spend to succeed.
Souttar, if successful, would be sold at a profit in a few year he’s still young and has bands of potential.
For me, anything under £10m it’s worth it but over that no.
I think we’d get him for around £8m.

World Cup is the biggest stage in men’s football to showcase your talent, an outstanding World Cup from Souttar pal, he played great. That will do for me.
He’s a better player than his brother always has been since they were youngsters at Dundee Utd.
He done no bad in championship aswel mate to be linked with half the epl for £20m before getting his £15m move to Leicester.
How many top flight games had Goldson played and minutes etc before we signed him as example?
Not a lot.
Included in that fee is fact he can play in euro squad as part of homegrown rule. Worth that wee bit extra to get an extra non homegrown player in squad aswell. Bigger pool to choose from.
He’s a quality defender and he’s Scottish.

Who do u want to sign instead and for how much?
Also how much do u think Souttar is worth as if u don’t think he’s worth £8m then I’d love to k kw what u value John at, or Conor. Or ccv?

The idea of having both Souttar and Cooper is too good. Both 6,6, dominant in the air, and score goals from set-pieces. That would be some pairing ?.

Jr1972 when you got the info on harry Souttar did you bother to check his age. He broke into the dundee utd team at 16 and stoke snapped him up. Where he'd have played English youth football and had loans. He is only 24 he has plenty of football at a decent level under his belt and plenty more to come.

If he has an injury history, a loan to buy would be a good deal. Leicester have FFP worries so need money in before they can buy so they may take a loss on his fee, if he is not part of their plans . Rodgers signed him so they might be interested too, so we will need to be quick . If we could sign him and Palma that would balance the squad because although Matondo has done well he can`t play every game and we could need alternatives to cover injuries.

Jack or whoever has been dropping back to make a back 3 when wing backs push forward which has also allowed Souter or Goldson carry the ball forward at times so a back 3 of the 2 Souters and Goldson with one of them almost playing as a dm could be awesome.

Souttar is a cb not a def mid. same as lammers is a st not a cf or ram or lw, we need to play players in their natural positions and stop making up positions for them. massive flaw in beale and when gerrard was here.

I am beginning to wonder if we might end up going 3 at the back, with Souttar in the centre of the three stepping out with the ball. Lundstram could be backup to that role.

Tav on the right and Borna/ Ridvan on the left might help us make the most of thier abilities, as well as accomodating the other players we have middle to front.

Dreamer I’d worry if we get him on loan and he performs like we’d expect we wouldn’t get him next season. I’d rather a deal in place price wise.
Although even at that player can say no like Tillman.
I think if we can get him for fee around £8m we should do it now. No need for left winger anymore and if we take Souttar instead of cooper then the 2 moneys together isn’t far off £8m.

We don’t have Nearly enough wingers people saying we have no width then a day later saying we don’t need wingers because sima and Rabbi lol wright is our only other option. We 100 percent need a 4th wide player in. It’s a long season.
