I don’t mind keeping guys like McGregor and Davis to help guide and coach the younger ones in the team, that can be invaluable. My worry is the boxer scenario where they keep fighting and end up getting hammered from guys that would never have beaten them in their hay day. It’s all about timing and knowing when to quit.

I wonder if Mcgregor’s decision will be based on our ability to adequately replace him. I think he may stay on as a no2. For me I’d let davo move on and finish his career playing football. Roofe deserves to be given another season and jacko when for is probably the best mf in Scotland on his day. I’d say him and mcgregor. Footballs a squad game now and as much as him amd roofe are injured a lot they contribute enough over a season to be given new deals back more so than roofe I feel.
