Good morning all.
A good friend (Celtic supporter) has given me some advice to pass on.

Caution:-Be very watchful and careful in Amsterdam tomorrow. The Ajax Ultras are an extremely violent bunch of thugs who attack opposition fans without any provocation at all.

Please avoid if possible and come home Safe and well.

Aye apparently the Ajax fans are split into 3 factions and each one can't stand the others. My co director is a big Celtic fan and he vowed never to go back there after problems the last time they were there. He hates them with a passion, says they are seriously dangerous.

How do you ‘avoid is possible’ the people of Holland? Anyone could be an Ajax fan. If someone was intent on causing harm they might not even have colours on, or enter the stadium, they could wait outside. It sounds like your being paranoid. Just go enjoy the game.

VA, I'm not being paranoid, my friend has been there and seen fans being attacked in town center while just sitting outside a bar having a beer.
I do know that you can't avoid Dutch people In Amsterdam but my point is not to get involved with the obvious thugs.

Guy is just passing on info that could potentially raise awareness for fans travelling and help them avoid grief.

No matter the topic, you always seem to have a moan or a sarcy come back on here.

The ultras are well known for their indiscriminate attacks on rival fans, they do not differentiate between me, women or children as far as they are concerned everybody is fair game.
Everybody at the game please be safe and let’s make it a memorable experience for the right reasons ????.

There is no mystery about the risks fans may face in Amsterdam. There will be trouble. Wherever we play in this competition. You can only minimize that risk if you choose to travel. Otherwise stay home and find BT sport.

The Ajax ultras ran riot in the east end when they played them a few years back. There was a fair bit of bloodshed with fans getting attacked in pubs and on the street. They are a volatile bunch, so hopefully everyone will stay safe.
