Just read this on twitter

Agreement reached! Rabbi Matondo joins Glasgow Rangers. The Welsh winger completed medicals in Manchester and agreed on personal terms with the Scottish side. Only paperwork need to be done. Official announcement soon. @SPORT1

Looks good.

Hope I’m made to eat my words, but uninspiring window thus far.

2.) 12 Jul 2022 11:23:40
Think he might need time to settle he’s a young lad we need to be patient and not expect the world to quick! Looks like he has great attributes to develop.

3.) 12 Jul 2022 11:23:59
Never saw or heard of our new signings so can't pass judgement.

4.) 12 Jul 2022 11:34:53
I suspect you will Tedrick.

5.) 12 Jul 2022 12:06:04
I think with him on 1 side and Kent on the other that will be some attack I think we hopefully bring in that bayern cam malik tillman that would be brilliant signing I think what else do we need.

6.) 12 Jul 2022 12:08:42
im not convinced by this signing.

7.) 12 Jul 2022 13:24:51
What would have impressed you OP? Some of the negativity is painful reading on this forum. With our available resources, who would YOU have signed, assuming you know better than Gio and the scouts?

8.) 12 Jul 2022 13:26:42
Stephen - was that not the plan with the 19mill man Diallo?

9.) 12 Jul 2022 13:32:31
Ibrox for me an upgrade on Diallo.

10.) 12 Jul 2022 13:39:18
Tedrick what would be an inspiring window? we're not going to sign anyone we know so we're going to need to wait and see how it plays out, this has been the case for every window for the last 5 years, can you point me to a window that you felt was inspiring?

11.) 12 Jul 2022 13:33:28
Just confirmed by club has signed.

12.) 12 Jul 2022 14:33:14
Nobody here had heard of Alfie, or Aribo, or lots of our players until we signed them and they became big names for us. Some of the names we signed over the last few years who were well known didn't work out ie Ramsay, Flanagan, and a few others. I'd rather the club brought in developing talent rather than risk a fortune on highly paid, established players at the end of their careers. I see that policy as being more inspirational than chucking money at players just for headlines.

13.) 12 Jul 2022 14:33:47
This lad is one of the fastest players around and has ability.

Mistakes are possible but you don’t often see players going for 11m and not having something about them. He had an outstanding season last season in Belgium.

Hopefully works out as the value is great, would be a great return on future sale.

14.) 12 Jul 2022 16:35:52
Colin, I think that is a bit unfair on Flanagan. He had some decent games for us.

And after a quick look at the rest of the tables we have the most goals against next to us is Viktoria Plzen who are on -13, only two teams in the entire competition have double digit goals against, we really are the whipping boys and laughing stock of the UCL.
But still "Rangers till I die" ????.

So driving to work today (bearing in mind I'm in NZ) checked the live scores 1-0 fantastic I thought we might upset the odds here, drove into the car park 1-1 so still not too bad given our recent performances and also who we were up against, fast forward a few hours left work and eagerly lifted my phone to check 1-7, I did a double and triple check 1-7 WTF I thought, how many players did we have sent off . None, zero, nada, we finished with 11 players on the park.
These has been a massive change in dynamics since our euro run last year, yes we lost a couple of players but was their loss really the difference between last years attitude and this years, I think not.
Is Gio the man to take us forward? Given our massive leakage of goals this season akin to schoolboy football teams I don't think he is the man for the job. Can we afford to sack him? No we can't, will he resign? No he won't why would he, he is on a decent salary and who would voluntarily give it up.
At this stage who in their right mind would want to step in to the managers role? I don't see a huge line of decent managers knocking on the hallowed doors offing their services. So at this point we are stuck with what we have, Europe is finished for us and we now need to focus on the league, if we don't raise our game pretty quick smart we will again have a barren season which is not acceptable to our loyal support.
Whinge over I have no other words.

With all the wild rumours floating around regarding the tenure of Gio, at this stage he is our manager, he took over when SG jump d ship at the first offer of EPL look how good he is doing there!
Ultimately the manager has to take responsibility however the players need to take a long hard look at themselves and decide whether they want to play for the badge, the club, the history that is Rangers. Yes he picks the team and motivates them but these 11 guys on the field must bear the brunt of this, they are not performing as they can do, if they play to their potential then we have a team but if they continue to sulk and hide then we are doomed.
We have signed players in particular Yilmaz who was playing in Europe week on week out and yet he is on the sidelines, let him play, we have two good strikers, play tie up front at this stage we have feck all to loose we have been humiliated loosing 8 goals in two games and not looking like scoring we need to wake up and start playing like the team we can be.

Kiwiger Couldn’t agree more, The line up has to change as do the personal.

2.) 08 Sep 2022 12:21:47
Kiwiger you're right. Manager takes the fall but the players get paid handsomely to do a job as well. If that lot think they're earning their wage then I'm sorry but that's just unacceptable.

3.) 08 Sep 2022 13:07:46
Play yilmaz in front of barasic a d sickening kent I bet yilmaz gets more crosses into the box and he will help out borna i for 1 won't miss the step overs.

After beating PSV I was quietly optimistic about heading into the UCL especially after last years euro run, however there now appears to be some disharmony in the dressing room, whether this is directed at the coaching staff of particular players I have no idea, are the players only looking to focus on the UCL with the hope of a big money transfer if they shone on the big stage? Who knows, but the lack of fight and passion had dropped since the euro final.
I'm hoping this is an early blip and the pain of losing has flattened the mood somewhat, however if the current team do not start to show the passion and fight then this could be a very poor season indeed, would having brought in a couple of new faces during the transfer window have lifted the spirits in mot convinced, it seems to run deeper than just lack of additional players.
All that being said it would not alter my love for the club.

1.) 06 Sep 2022 03:52:25
Well said kiwi and the one thing that is annoying me is Gio has now had 2 transfer windows and not 1 of the players he has signed were on the park at full time against Celtic. let's hope we pick ourselves up and get a result against Ajax and give the team and the fans a much needed lift.

2.) 06 Sep 2022 08:19:48
If there is any dressing room lack of harmony, get those causing it out of the 1st Team squad, we deserve better than that. On another topic, it is reported that the SPFL are now trying to exclude Rangers from the vote to carry the Sky Sports vote through. If this indeed happens the existing animosity towards our Club will get worse, this is a distraction we don't need at this time, views guys please on this matter.

3.) 06 Sep 2022 08:55:51
Kiwi based on what makes you say there's disharmony. Is it your view or have you heard something.

Ok now the dust has settled, albeit only just, i thought I'd wade in on the debacle that was a complete gubbing, there was only one team playing who actually wanted to win this game and it certainly was not us. From the start they attacked at pace, we set up as a 4-3-2-1 formation allowing them to run the midfield, we played with a lone striker and no true holding midfielder, we were all aware of how fast they start and overwhelm teams in the first 30mins, yes a couple of questionable calls that led to goals but we did not deserve to win the game, then at the point of several goals down we sub a striker for a striker, whether we loose 1-0 or 7-0 it's still only 3 points and we should have pressed with two strikers to at least put some pressure on them.

Have the funds been mismanaged? Don't think so, for years the board has been finding us and at some point we need to become self sufficient, we can't rely on the board continually giving loans to make ends meet.

It's very early on and let's see where we sit come January, a title is not won in the first 5 games, support the team as we always have WATP ????.

good post well written mate.

2.) 05 Sep 2022 06:44:30
Good post Kiwiger ?We play 3 defensive mids all wanting to do the same thing with kamara the most advanced and as we've seen before,
Kamara Just can't play that role ?
Gio for me most certainly started the wrong team and the players have shoulder a helluva lot of the blame themselves with their performances ?The game is always won by which midfield is the more dominant and you don't need to be einstein to know which team dominated the midfield ? Lawrence who's a terrific attacking mid would have started but for his injury, so gio imo should have went for another attacking midfielder in scotty arfield to replace lawrence ?Also tillman is a central no.10 for me, not a right winger ? He's not everybody's cup of tea but for me with his directness and pace and it being a more natural position he can play in, gio should have started scott wright ?.

3.) 05 Sep 2022 08:06:31
Kiwiger, very good post, I cannot believe the fans that have thrown the towel in after 5 games, I bet the other lot wouldn't, we will get back quickly starting on Wednesday and then up at another difficult venue Pittodrie.

4.) 05 Sep 2022 09:37:57
We are a dad's army side at present with a pedestrian midfield, it is easy to say that we shouldn't be playing three defensive midfield players in Scotland and I agree, but with Lawrence and young Lowry injured we don't exactly have a wealth of talent in reserve.
Have the funds been mismanaged, in general perhaps not but in terms of player acquisitions I would say that in many instances they have been because we clearly have not done proper due diligence before we have bought a number of the players that are currently at the Club, (albeit not playing regularly or close to being in the starting eleven) .
There are many things that are good about Rangers and although it won't be universally popular, I include the manager in that statement however I do believe that we need new blood at Board Level to take the Club forward to the next level.

5.) 05 Sep 2022 12:44:52
Funds are not mismanaged. The club is rebuilding our structure on and off the pitch

I said imo Davis and McGregor should have moved on, possibly Arfield

We missed Olaru and the lad from standard, in midfield I would certainly be playing mcann befor Davis, we r standing still
Kamara according to my info on Saturday spat the dummy as we did not let him move to france on deadline day, he believes he had an agreement

Other snippet we could be bringing McKinnon back fro thistle in January.

What …. you are revolutionary in this system 4-4-2 why has this never been tried?
All jokes aside totally agree Scotty, that is a tried and trusted system this whole 1 up front and allow the rest of the team to effectively “float” does not work, we need structure and formation at this point to settle the team and play as a unit.

The ultras are well known for their indiscriminate attacks on rival fans, they do not differentiate between me, women or children as far as they are concerned everybody is fair game.
Everybody at the game please be safe and let’s make it a memorable experience for the right reasons ????.
