Here is one for sir Walter? The Longstaff brothers? One I believe to be better than the other, absolute running machine seemed like he was going to make the grade a few year back and still gets in around it now and then…. Could we manage to pull him in to our club? What would be the fee? Wages? Would he be interested I’d happily sell lunny Matondo wright sakala Helander Roofe McGregor wages mcglaughlin Morelos n Kent’s wages I’d happily let Souttar go if we could get a fee for him. Davo will be away… theses a few I’ve missed so we have an astounding amount of wages saved could we afford to pay £10m for the boy in the hope to sell him back down south for a decent profit in 1-2 years so long shot on Longstaff but in beside Raskin that’s exactly what we need that would make out mf imo then it’s a lw and a striker and I think we’re good just to fill the squad from there what we think sir Walter? And of course ed any info would be appreciated as always mate.

Aw storm did I say that mate? I asked a question to someone in the know about newcastle as he’s a fan, and the ed. his price tag, maybe he’s got a year to go? And his wages? The plers listed are all likely or guaranteed to be leaving anyway and all on very high wages. So if he were to get a signing on fee and a high transfer then his wages are high they can be offset by savings of those who follow which are relatively high.
McGregor retired high wage
Mcglaughlin not good enough decent wage
Souttar £2m and decent wage
Helander free transfer save high wage
Davis retired high wage
Lundstrum sold for £4/ 5m and very high wage
Kamara possibly keep. £5/ 7m decent wage
Wright not good enough sold for £700k low wage
Sakala £5m medium wage
Morelos free very high wage
Kent free transfer very high wage
Matondo sold £2m high wage
Possibly Hagi but preferably not if sold £5m high wage
So put all the fees in the pot along with what we will already have yeah? Then add up the saved wages which are astounding for what we’re getting in return.
We have a massive squad so don’t need to replace every player and we also have king to replace Souttar. Helander isn’t even part of our squad in reality is he? Replace with back up for Davies or a starter but still save money, Davis and lunny can be replaced by one centre mid as we have Jack Raskin and kamara. Wright and Matondo give nothing and can be replaced by 1 player Morelos Kent sakala can be replaced 1 for 1 but this is all before any youths step up as back up. See king Devine Lowry Mccrorie needs to step upto back up replace the 2 keepers with a top 1st choice. Do u follow? So by offloading all these players the money brought in and saved in wages frees up a lot of cash. We need to sign a gk likely Butland on a free with signing on fee and high wage we replace Souttar and Bella Der with 1 player. Replace Davo and lunny with 1 starter (Longstaff) still save on wages. Then all the bit parters n absent players wages saved throw in Roofe aswell a very high earner. We don’t need the same amount in as our so will have more excess cash to put into quality instead of quantity. Thus improving as a squad and team. So no I’m not playing 5 a side. I would like to see us sign players that will make a difference and help us win the league for the next few seasons however it might be difficult making any money selling a number of the players mentioned especially with a number at the end of their contract. What is more, if Souttar can stay fit then we have an excellent centre back. Who would buy Matondo, Wright or Roofe, (with his injury problems), or McLaughlin!
I would certainly sell Sakala, Kamara and even Yilmaz if the price was right, (we have good young fullbacks coming through), but we need to sign a minimum of five players, (as Beale has already highlighted), and we need to reduce the squad size, so we need to have some quality young players coming up from the Youth Team.
There are good Bosmans out there but they will cost us a significant signing on fee. Where we spend money we have to get it 100% right. Ideally, Kent will sign a new contract. we will be able to strike a deal for Gilmour, we get a top keeper and Tilman signs on permanently.
I would look at Newcastle United, Manchester United and Liverpool, to see if we could pick up one or two from them since I see all of these clubs being in the Market this summer to increase the quality of their squad so their could be players available. One thing is for sure, the Board needs to push the boat out this summer since another year of failure is not acceptable.

Wake if we play 2 in the middle mate would Raskin and Gilmour have enough steel about them? I feel kamara as back up to Raskin and a new cmtre mix with Jack as back up then the youth need to step up. This is why I’m asking about the Longstaff boy. I’d love Gilmour aswell but feel we’d need to play 3 in middle to suit having him and Raskin and so we would need another defensive mid as Jack is too injury prone. Just my opinion mate but I rate humour highly.

Of course John it’s just a convo mate we’re not running the club, storm am not meaning it in offensive way mate. And it corrected from ok to aw so fair play on the reply as I didn’t mean aw. All I’m putting across in short is we have a lot to ship out? Saves a lot of wages and by signing say 5 to replace the 12 I mentioned the wages could be used to bring in quality instead of quantity of players not upto the job. That’s all I’m getting at basically mate. I think Longstaff is the type who would compliment Raskin. If not him fine, but that’s the type he needs beside him. A runner to do all the hard work and let him play.
Also Davis will not be at Ibrox next season. He’ll go into management. McGregor will retire aswell.

Defo we won’t get mctiminay mate that’s just a no chance in hell one. Longstaff I thought I’d ask his value and wage and see if we could have a chance but cheers mate ? sweep exactly my point mate they do t deserve that wage so time to move on n start again use the money better, for me Kent shouldn’t have been signed at £7m and if he was attracting attention of £10m upwards should’ve been sold. Alfie was diff at time it seemed he was going to keep getting better and his value go up but in hindsight we should’ve sold him for the €20 if was true at time then again his goals were vital in our euro runs so he’s paid his dues. We’ve wasted a lot of money in recent years on likes of Ramsey Matondo Roofe Helander and so on… need to have a big clear out and bring in quality not quantity now. Smaller squad with youth as back up. The Bosman market is available and Beale knows a good player I have faith he will spend wisely in the market just look at Raskin and cantwell as examples.
Hopefully next season we’re equipped to challenge Celtic as they’re a far better team than us atm but things can change quickly in Scotland. Big ange could well be lured down south.

Here’s Tom thanks for that comment mate, I’m doing fine mate back at work and feeling in a good place now mate but mental health isn’t a made up thing it’s real. Some people don’t get that but it’s not their fault really, it can be hard to understand things we can’t physically see. Same as addiction. People too quick too look down their nose at others til it lands on their doorstep mate. I’ve lost family and friends to both mental health problems and addiction issues whilst suffering from both myself. We as humans need to learn to be more kind and maybe the world would be a better place. Thanks for your kind words mate and also on the original post I think the reply was mine a Sunday comment slightly hungover n can’t be arsed so just nipping at someone but it’s all good brother. Raskin I agree king isn’t as good as a fit Souttar. My point is Souttar is not and never will be fit enough to be relied upon. So sell him when he’s fit make a few kid and give king his place in squad. He’s only what? 18/ 19? Given mins here and there alongside the first picks back 5 and play him in cup games and he’ll get better and will eventually be better tha. Souttar. King was linked with all the top clubs down south and is a very good young centre back mate. He won’t hit his prime for another 10 years and I feel Souttar an injuries mean we’ve already seen him reach his best potential. Cut ties with all injury prone players this summer if we want a chance to win the title next year. The only of the injury prone players I’d keep is Jack on a basic wage of say £5k with add one when fit and available and other add ons when selected for bench and others when starting or coming on as sub. He’s the only of Souttar Davis Roofe hellander and the likes worth keeping. Imo.

As nobody really answered your question about the longstaff brothers I thought I would try.
Sean longstaff is currently on 50k per week at Newcastle and contracted until 2025.
Matt is back at Newcastle as his loan came to an end when he suffered an ACL injury in December.
He looks unlikely to be offered a new contract at the end of the season but as an ACL can take a year to recover from its unlikely we would look at him.

Thanks guys, somethings not been right with me since August. I've had cameras shoved into just about every place you can shove one. Just waiting on one set of results but hopefully a minor op will sort me out. Things are hard for lots of people at the moment. In my head I'm still 21 but my body reminds me daily that I'm kidding myself on.

Just about souttar…. he’s been a poor signing so far that much is very clear. I don’t think there is a debate whether he’s a good player or not as he clearly is. Staying fit from now on is a must, I would hate for him to move on and stay fit elsewhere and push on and we miss out on a cracking player. Next season crucial for him.
