I may be wrong orygbmb, but I think it's National Stadiums they will be using pal.

I could be wrong but isn’t Hampden and Ibrox the only UEFA 5 star rated football stadiums in Scotland?
And you would always assume the SFA would use Hampden as it would keep any money earned in house.

Hampden is an absolute dive.

Knock it down to rubble and start again.

They probably don’t want to use ibrox and not parkhead to avoid the uproar from their fans.

Also the state of the surrounding are of Celtic park is very deprived.

I doubt sfa want to use that as the face of the national game.
That’s not a slight on Celtic, just the truth on the area their stadium is in.

I take it you haven’t been to Parkhead in a long time stevie? It most certainly isn’t Dubai or Monaco but the surrounding area was regenerated years ago. It has the velodrome and emirates stadium sitting beside it and new housing and shopping centre too. Glasgow City Ciuncil have spent a fortune doing it up. The area has much better sporting facilities than the Ibrox/ Govan area.

When did Casement Park become a national stadium? Isn't this owned by an organisation that once had it in its constitution that it would never play host to what it called 'garrison sports'?

I think they should use Hampden and Murrayfield.

Hampden is a national embarrassment and using it when the other stadiums are the likes of Wembley, The Principality and The Aviva is a disgrace . They won`t use Parkhead or Ibrox because of the petty rivalry although they could split the games between both and keep everyone happy . If they won`t do that why not use Murrayfield, all they have to do there is cut the grass shorter and change the posts not waste money trying to tart up a last cause.

@stevie
You having a wind up here.
Gues last time you were at parkheed was the 80s. You come across as very knowledgeable then this uninformed rubbish.
Don't lower your self to be like a few others on here.

The whole 5 star stadium thing was out years ago.

Ory,

That's he'll understatement. Hampden an appalling stadium. Nowhere near international class. Every time I'm there see what looks like subsidence in roof main stand makes it look like Clyde training ground. Money was allegedly spent and still looks #### hole.

Baz the bear, Andy.

Tbf I haven’t been to parkhead area for a number of years.

I did do a lot of landscaping work in 2013 around barrow field area, all the new houses that were built we had the landscaping contract for them.
Obviously a long time ago.

The back end of parkhead does seem very run down whenever u see it in pictures etc.
you know the bit behind the smaller stand?

If I’m wrong I do apologise as some people obviously live there and it’s not meant as slander.

Excuse my ignorance if I’m wrong. ??.

The snobs around Murrayfield don’t even want rugby games played there, My daughter-in-law works for Scottish Rugby Union and says they always have problems with locals, Be it with rugby football or concerts. ???????????.

There are still bad bits but it's looking gd.
Now planning permission in place for barrofield training fields etc. Next the hotel
The area has come a long way as I was born there when it was a dumphole.

Wouldn't exactly say the surrounding areas of ibrox are much better.

Euro2028 is a farce just an excuse to let England host it again if they had applied themselves they would have been knocked back having hosted tournaments recently (in football terms ) another country would have been chosen we should have ignored England and went with Ireland or Wales or both.

Sorry but 1 stadium for Scotland Ireland Wales and 6 for England is a joke.

21.) 11 Oct 2023
11 Oct 2023 15:53:48
The sfa are only going to use hampden as it’s the home national stadium, ibrox or porkheid has never been in the equation so it’s not been ignored.

22.) 11 Oct 2023
11 Oct 2023 16:21:44
Let’s hope the money that both the sfa and Scotland as a whole make from this is put towards building a new fit for purpose national stadium we can all be proud of.

Personally I would have used Ibrox and Celtic Park ahead of Hampden and I certainly wouldn't be using the GAA Stadium in Belfast, (assuming it every gets built) .
The best Stadium in Ireland is the Aviva, which is being used but if they wanted two grounds from Ireland then they would have been better with Croke Park.
As always, Politics over football seems to have won the day.

Gofor had the exact same thoughts as yourself mate, when I seen the amount of stadiums England were getting, it's a farce the tournament is basically in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales are an absolute token gesture.
