First time I've really seen silva he looks like a baller to me, once he's up to speed with a few games, I expect big things.

I think we are really trying behind the scenes for new players, the question is if we can't sign the right caliber of player, will we all be annoyed, or will we be understanding, in the knowledge that its a very difficult time to sign players. I'm bursting for new players but if we have to go with what we have then so be it. We've made enough bad signings so we need to get it right.

Boyblue, I'm just tired of seeing far too many players brought in, getting my expectations up and then finding out they're average at best. I hope for all our sakes we've got the right man in who can at last sort this mess out.

If it means getting nobody else signed before the window closes as we can't get who clement really wants then i agree that we don't just sign any player for the sake of it ?I can't see clement doing that anyway ?If we have to wait until the summer to sign the players clement really wants then that's what we do imo.

Aye, good post Boy Blue - we’ve had too much of a scattergun approach recently and I’d rather we got the right players in than just any players in. I fondly recall the late great Walter Smith spending his entire transfer budget on Nikica Jelavic and would welcome this approach again.

Quality not quantity. The fact our wage bill is so high worries me given the lack of product on the park. Happy to wait it out, get rid of journeymen and the ever injured and sign the best we can. hopefully this frees up places for young guys and that, even if they themselves are not superstars, it will in turn encourage more of the best young players to be at Ibrox as they can see a route into the first team.

All we really need at the moment is a goal scoring striker.
The amount of chances we do create in most games which are missed/ wasted by our current strikers is appalling.
Even if we sell Yilmaz, i'd rather play Devine LB than Borna at this moment in time. Cannot stand seeing him getting the ball and instantly passing it backwards.

Given how we've signed players in the last 5 years I would much rather we brought in no one then the wrong players just to bring in someone.
I think we need 3 or 4, that won't change, but it needs to be 3 or 4 who go straight into the 11 and make us better, otherwise there's no point.
We've seen just last summer alone the impact of recruiting poorly.
So, as annoying as it is, if they're working hard but can't get the right players PC wants, I'm happy they don't bring in anyone in Jan rather than the wrong players.

I watched Jelavic tear Celtic apart and said I wish we could sign him, was buzzing when he was linked to us couldn't believe we got him, loved big jelavic had magic in him.

So many positives today lads, 3 excellent goals, another full game for ridvan motm, 3 points that were never in doubt, return for raskin and a we cameo from our new boy looks full of energy.
Have to say not sure where soutter is supposed to put his arm, he can't make it dissappear.

Been saying on here for weeks ridvan needs a good run of games to actually see what he brings, he's been so stop start since he arrived, and hadn't had a really good run of consecutive games were he's injury free, match sharp, which in turn will bring confidence. Not saying he been brilliant, but just starting to see what he's about, he's been slated on here, rightly so at times, let's give him credit when playing well.

I think he gets up and down the park with ease compared to Barisic.
And also looks to be getting better defensively.
Run of games and confidence can do wonders for a player.
Always room for improvement though.

Yeah mph, I honestly think his confidence was shot to pieces with all the injuries he was picking up constantly, I felt there was little flashes of the player he could be, but felt he was always a yard or two of the pace and physically and mentally not at his peak.

I vaguely recall your post from last year boy blue and I agree that minutes per goal is a really important stat as it shows how prolific a striker is. In my personal opinion, this is the most important stat
However, goals per game is also a useful indicator as it can show the effect a player makes as an impact sub amongst other things.
I think the reality is that both stats are useful for different reasons and, to provide the most complete picture, both should be quoted side by side if possible.

Gofor have to strongly disagree Our defence isn't the problem as we have conceded 6 less than our rivals, but they have outscored us by 12, same last year our defence was every bit as good as theirs, but being outscored year after year, we don't score enough goals, not just our strikers, everyone needs to chip in. we lost around 20 goals from midfield last season, haven't replaced them.

So most on here wouldn't think twice of paying 8m for denkey who I confess know nothing about and pretty sure most don't know much about. From what I can see he's had 1 good half season in a league similar to ours isn't that a huge gamble? Because he is foreign and comes with a big price tag everyone is up for it, why is that? I get the sell on part, but still a huge risk. guys I'm not against the signing just putting this out there for discussions sake. Thoughts guys.

Am sure we wouldn't need to worry about shankland scoring against celtic as he has scored 5 times in past 2 seasons against them, also scored 6 times in 12 games in Europe. Imo he is getting better all the time.
