Heard from a good source that Kent will sign a pre contact with Burnley. VC is one of Kents Idols. Watford also keen on him. Hopefully Vincent company gets offered another job and that kicks that into touch. We cannot compete with the wages, 60k a week being banded around with a 2 million signing on fee. That sets his family up for life. I am raging we paid 7 million for Kent and never got a return. Not too fussed with Alfie he only cost a million so not as if we are down that much when he leaves in the summer.

See your point Paul, hopefully Cantwell can increase his value as he is valued at 1.5 millions and Raskin at 3.5 million. Need both players to have a good last 6 months and a smashing year next year in Europe, wheather that ECL or Europa and their values should definitely increase 100% maybe even more.

Kent has improved under MB, but I wouldn't break the bank to keep him, I believe he's our top earner at the club, looking at what we've spent on him, from the transfer fee to bonuses and wages, we didn't get value for our money with him, we need to cut our wage bill, far too big a squad imo.

Surely if Kent went to Burnley at the end of the season he wouldn`t be playing at the top of the championship as they are a cert to get promoted. So assuming Leeds stay up he would be playing at the same level no matter which of the two he joined .

I don’t agree that we spent £7m on Kent and never got a return. The boy was pivotal in numerous good European runs under Gerrard, delivered arguably the greatest league title in our history and then got us to a European cup final last year! I’d say that was a pretty good return for £7m. Yes we might lose him for free now but how much did we pocket from winning runs in Europe and the league title which he contributed massively too. You’ve got to take the rough with the smooth in terms of player sales, we might lose Kent for free having spent £7m but we sold Patterson, Bassey and Aribo for about £40m without spending hardly anything on them. Just the way it goes but regardless of whether he leaves for millions or for free we’ve had value out what we paid for him.

Totally agreed fruitbear. We need better quality though. He went missing in the ECL last season when we got pumped from everyone and have the abysmal title of worst ever team. We need better players all over the park now. Upgrades on them all. Our team is good for SPL and Europa standards but that out wack I say.

Could look at it that they have been here a long time, won the league, got to Europa Final and into the Champ league GS. So they have more than paid for themselves, also we've benefited from signing players for free or massively reduced fees from end or near end of contract situations.

Yes, JB this is absolutely bang on. Burnley in their fairness have been very respectful. Agreement in place not announce the signing until end of season to avoid a distraction. Burnley had actually offered £2m in the January window, we turned it down tho.

If Kent and Morelos don't want to be Rangers players they can jog on - let's see if anyone wants them in the Summer - both are replaceable in my opinion - we have gad a great return already from Morelos - Kent is different - very different if he had put that chance in at the Europa league final - personally I think they both want to leave.

Fair enough Gregory I just think when you sign a deal and you've honoured that deal your entitled to do what you want wasn't Kent who decided 7 million that was probably rangers fault if we had bought him straight away instead of loan it would have been a lot smaller fee as he was already of the back of failed loan prob is we played him to a player of year position and increased his value club though 7 million over the contract period was fair and he always gave it his all so I would never judge him for that the club know what they are getting themselves. into when they sign people for huge fees.

And on the you don't want to be here players I would agree with you but I'd try sell them with a year left regardless if fee smaller than should be I only want 100% committed players but that doesn't always work and in those cases you simply have to say thank you for your service and good luck and goodbye.

You should be looking to do a deal with a player when he has 1.5 season left at minimum and let them know we need to know our planning going forward if they don't sign you look to bring someone in to replace them and if it means them sitting on the bench for Thier last season then so be it.
