Don’t look at the goals and assists in isolation, sometimes you need to trust Beale’s eye for a player as was the case with Cantwell. His goals and assists were hardly inspiring. Sometimes a player just needs the right club.

He’s played 716 mins in France. It’s just short of 8 full games. In that time he’s got 2 goals and 1 assist. So he’s contributed to a goal in 1 in every 3 matches in a top 5 league.

But let’s be honest, the sample size in France is just too small to judge him as a player. What we do know is that Beale spent a considerable amount of time with this lad when he was a kid in the Chelsea youth setup - He knows exactly what he’s all about.

It’s also worth mentioning that this guy wants to be successful in football. He chose to leave Chelsea when he couldn’t break through and then build his reputation and ability as a footballer. People criticised Morelos for not trying, well this lad tries incredibly hard to be the best player he can be.

Verdant I'm genuinely impressed by the positive spin you managed to find for this lad. I doubt his agent could have done more. All it shows is he's struggled to get into a poor french side. Hardly played last season either. Big difference from being a promising academy player when Beale was there. He's 24 and already at his 8th club. Perhaps he does just need to find the right club but he hardly inspires confidence especially for that price. Cantwell comparison a bit strange too as he had showed before he's got class but had just lost his way at norwich.

Guy does seem to have been loaned on several occasions? Goal scoring record isn't exactly exciting! Forward players are going to be massive for us. Desperately need to replace Morelos and Kent with quality as Sakala and Matondo are not the answer.

Don’t believe any of the rumour regarding ugbo. If Michael Beale worked with him at Chelsea he would of been 12-13 as he broke into the under 18s in 14-15 season and Beale left in 2012. Ugbo would of been 15 then when he broke into under 18. For me it’s just journalists being lazy and saying any striker that played in Chelsea youth team but Beale wouldn’t of worked directly with him.

But I agree of manager wants a player that's who we should target I'd always go with manager's opinion as he knows the way he wants team to play and he should live and die by his own choices.

Okay so don't judge on stats alone, I'm sorry but what is a strikers job again? The thought process sometimes by folk here is insane.

I trust MB all I said is not for me and certainly not the fee quoted. This may not even be true and VA just trying to get his client a move haha.

Don`t fancy this move at all, Ugbo has no current form to possibly justify us spending that kind of money on him . There are better, safer deals out there . What is the point of paying our whole scouting department if we are only interested in players Beale has coached in the past .
