So instead of this being a manager post I'm instead going to talk about our summer and where I want change.

Butland has to be sold if not our number 1 and a replacement signed.

CH I keep seeing some folk suggest Tav should be shifted to RCH, absolute joke. We need 2 strong experienced CHs. Propper must go.

LB sell Ridvan and buy another mid 20s player who has experience and some defensive awareness.

RB for me we need 2 players here. Mulligan and another starting player.

CM experienced 6 must be signed.

RW we need a quality starter here and a good young player who we can rotate in.

LW same as RW if Cortes can stay fit he can be rotation option.

CF Igamane must be made our starter going forward unless we sign an outstanding player here. Durosinmi my choice for that role.

Just looking at them lot we need width and something we really lack, would like some outstanding players signed here more than most other positions.

BBJ finally a post that's different and didn't get many replies don't know why.

I agree with much of everything you said mate apart from we definitely need a striker other than igamane we need a starter as igamane isn't that at the moment and I don't think he could fire us close enough to them to challenge as a no1 striker.

Let today put to rest the BF getting the job full time. Honestly loved the guy as a player but he is useless and clueless as a manager. That's 11 games and 20 goals conceded and that's with him playing 5 at the back.

We were an awful watch yet again and even Stevie Wonder can see we don't like this formation and yet BF persists in playing it and still conceding loads of goals, that bad we were hanging on today and hoofing long balls up top. No Danilo or Cortes either, anyone can see we need width but have literally none.

Please leave and let the door hit you on the arse on the way out, just no a manager ever! You'll no make our club better that's for sure!

bigbluejim

1.) 26 Apr 2025 18:26:47
I can't understand how we have changed to 5 at the back and got worse in defence ? make it make sense to me mate. The lack of width is frightening for us in games. Barry's press conferences and interviews are becoming like PC ones.

2.) 26 Apr 2025 19:00:34
Oh just had a newsflash there was never a chance he would get the job full-time. a bunch of supporters thinking he should never changed that, he did the club a favour by looking after the squad till end of the season. thank him for that and move on.

3.) 26 Apr 2025 19:14:05
I honestly don't even know, he said we can't play an attacking style as the players ain't good enough to do what's asked of them. So changes to the style of the other hammer throwers and it makes us worse, baffling beyond belief. Like when was the last time we conceded so many goals while playing a defensive formation. Glad to be rid of him and this season.

18 Apr 2025 11:01:40
I honestly can't believe I have come on this morning and seen that there are still people defending Barry Ferguson. Yes I know he deserves a pat on the back for stepping in at short notice.

That being said we all slaughtered Clement (me included) because he couldn't adapt in games and certainly couldn't figure our league out.

Now Barry has been in charge for 10 games and turned us into the exact thing we hate playing week in week out but his justification is these players ain't good enough to play an attacking style so we need to make ourselves hard to beat.

Clements last 10 games we conceded 9 goals and in all comps.
Barry's 10 games we conceded 18 goals.

That is double the amount and I thought Clement made baffling subs but Fergie has taken it to a whole new level. Playing Jefte LCH and Dio LWB was a disgrace and killed us. His persistence with this system is destroying us as it does not suit us and is certainly not keeping clean sheets. For me, he can walk oot the door today and put Issame Charai in charge till the season is done. He has made us an even worse watch than Clement. Rant over.

1.) 18 Apr 2025 11:26:21
Big blue good post, movivig dio to lb in the five was incredible poor decision by a clieless man.

2.) 18 Apr 2025 11:39:30
John, i was a poster who wanted Clement gone. We'd have been better keeping him till the end of the season.
Barry was dreadful last night, not for the first time either.
We should have known it would be like this with his managerial history.

3.) 18 Apr 2025 11:40:12
Hopefully the penny will drop for some that being "staunch and Rangers Minded" isn't enough to be a Rangers manager.
Ferguson and Co's limitations were on show for all to see last night.

4.) 18 Apr 2025 11:42:13
BF is no more than a Rangers playing hero and supporter, who struck it lucky, because the board wanted to appease the fans. That's it!

Last night was a sore one, but on top of some horrific refereeing decisions, there were some horrific decisions all of BF's making.

Thanks Barry, but it's time to return to your media duties on Go radio!

5.) 18 Apr 2025 11:50:46
Moving Dio to Lwb was some mistake especially as he was able to take the ball under pressure and get us out more often even though his passing was not great but then didn't have much to hit. But all that was compounded by bringing Nsiala on (who BF has ruined and threw under a bus) who looked more composed than any in that back line.

I'm with you SS away back to Go Radio with him.

6.) 18 Apr 2025 12:15:25
Don't always agree with you sunshine but I do today.

7.) 18 Apr 2025 12:30:29
I was one for giving him a chance but the red flag was the "I know what way we need to play" comment that is just long ball tactics in the league. That screams of I have no clue how to coach a style or patterns of play.

8.) 18 Apr 2025 13:29:20
Right guys, how many £Millions will a recognised new Manager cost, and what will he bring immediately to the table, I personally can't see us winning the league for at least another two seasons, we cannot continue to rebuild year after year or we'll end up back at Elgin on winters day. We definitely need to have some players who know this league and hopefully can help win the points we have been dropping this season, we then need probably 3 better quality recruits to keep up some momentum in Europe, as this is where we make our real earnings, Scottish Football payouts will not allow us to progress any time soon.

9.) 18 Apr 2025 14:00:32
Irvger, i think with 4/ 5 quality signings we can challenge them next season.
We also need to move out quite a few. Butland, Tav and Propper need to go from that back line.

10.) 18 Apr 2025 14:48:29
He was only a place holder so we didn't need to fork out big money

Who else aparg from a Rangers man would take job on as a three month job

I never liked the idea of ferguson but i respect him for putting himself in such a difficult position

Our fans are so unrealistic and disrespectful especially wghen you examine the whole sqaud.

11.) 18 Apr 2025 15:12:50
I honeatly thinm he got drawn into that because of how poor jefte was linking whith hagi and others not giving is an outball.

With a bigger better squad i don't think barry doea that i still think he started with best luneup he could only igamane arguably instead of dessers would have been braver choice

His plans were shot to pieces with yilmaz injury and although i like yolmaz i think yhis finally proves to everyone he needs moved on.

12.) 18 Apr 2025 15:14:43
And for wveyone saying i backed ferguson of you go back and look i said at start along with storm that i didn't think he was right man however he was only 3 month cheap option interim and once he's in place i feel he deserves a bit of respect for putting himself in a no win position.

13.) 18 Apr 2025 15:17:06
Ferguson was brought in as interim manager. If the fans were appeased it was int eh sacking of Clement who a large number of the fan base wanted rid of. Ferguson and co were brought in to do a job and exactly what that is or was no-one really knows but it was just to manage till end of season with a takeover happening. I doubt there would be any quality manager who would want to take over for that period of time with no guarantees of a future role.

I don't understand the move of Dio either but then again I missed higher football tactics at Uni. The three in the management team must have done it for a reason but then. realised that it wasn't working so made a further change at HT.

14.) 18 Apr 2025 16:09:12
Our friend Mourinho told us that UEFA were bent and last night seemed to indicate that he may be right.

I'm all for bringing Gerrard back. We brought Walter back and it worked fine. It's been a long 5-years since he left.

I disliked Ferguson's treatment of Nsiala. Young guys will get things wrong from time to time, but what Ferguson did lacked patience for me.

I look forward to seeing more in Nsiala.

13 Apr 2025 14:04:20
I'm sorry but BF deserves full credit for rescuing a draw the day and I'm fully behind him getting the job FT going forward. His tactical nouse bamboozled the sheep.

Only other thing that can make the day better now is watching Liverpool smash the hammers.

BF for manager!

1.) 13 Apr 2025 14:52:03
Not even maybe mate.

2.) 13 Apr 2025 14:55:50
Did call it this time last week aberdeen woukd score 2. Weakened side but wee seem to love givi g sides a 2 nil head start ?.

3.) 13 Apr 2025 14:58:01
Hagi haters 1 question

I know he's away but

If you had a choice who to pay the wages

Bajrami or hagi

Whos the choice . wasy one for me bajrami is terrible and if we can recoup money on diomande i'd sell to he's too lightweight and never wins a 50/ 50 our play is so slow and negative aberdeen were one touch pass or firstbtime passing getting forward in numbers we were slugish totally unacceptable for players ment to be fighting for thier place.

Our squad is poor that's why we are not winning leafue too many passangers.

4.) 13 Apr 2025 15:04:13
Deserves credit for getting the draw then surely his tactical k owledge also has caused us to go 2-0 down in 5 games since he took over, maybe half the games.

5.) 13 Apr 2025 15:07:25
I'd happily keep Hagi and dessers next season. We need to keep some of the players another season for continuity and familiarity and of course economically. Both are decent players who are way too slated on here and by fans in general.

6.) 13 Apr 2025 15:08:14
His setup from the start was all wrong. We got a point today because Aberdeen failed to kill us off. He should be nowhere near the job in my opinion.

7.) 13 Apr 2025 15:09:11
Forever rangers, i've just posted above regarding this mate ?Hagi before bajrami all day long for me pal ?.

8.) 13 Apr 2025 15:14:02
Hagi, hagi, hagi,
He's not his dad but
Hes not that bad.

9.) 13 Apr 2025 15:18:57
Jim one of my mates from the other side said to me "we need someone who bleeds blue" to take charge of rangers. Ferguson definitelyfits that description. Is he the man to take us forward? I hoped it would work out for him and still do but the potential new owners will have their own ideas. I just want us to be successful again like we all do. There has been a lot of discussion about wether BF should get the job FT. I still say wait until the end of the season and we can all make a fair opinion then.

10.) 13 Apr 2025 15:21:14
I thought Bajrami looked much better today.

11.) 13 Apr 2025 15:23:02
Forever don't think anyone hates Hagi fs man, but deep there, don't think anyone hates (strong word) any Rangers player, think most know Hagi is a very average player, basically back up players today which pleased me.

12.) 13 Apr 2025 15:55:15
Honestly felt for the players today - could clearly see a lot of them weren't comfortable playing in that system.

Thought Nsiala was excellent, Igamane worked his socks off and Jefte showed real quality at both ends of the pitch.

Hagi's goal was class though - lovely controlled finish.

13.) 13 Apr 2025 15:57:54
If it was a straight up footballing decision I'd go with Hagi but it isn't. Bajrami is less money and 3 or 4 years left on his deal so smart decision is for Hagi to unless he take a signficant pay drop. If we could get our money back on Bajrami i'd let him go too though.

14.) 13 Apr 2025 15:58:23
Hagi puts in the graft off the ball Bajrami isn't interested in that side of the game.

15.) 13 Apr 2025 16:15:38
Sorry lads that was a tongue in cheek post, absolutely in no way do I want BF getting the job. Loved him as a player but he is a bad manager and not what we need. Had a couple of banging results but his system is terrible and we were lucky again as he takes way too long to change what's not working.

16.) 13 Apr 2025 17:53:34
Setup all wrong can you not see he's keeping every player he can wrapped in cotton wool for Thursday

It's not difficult to work out

Can we please remember the league was long gone.

I don't think Barry has done enough yet to earn job either but to be fair what he's had to work with is poor and when players know he's a temp are they really going to listen or risk injury when they could be away next year.

17.) 13 Apr 2025 18:00:36
Ok mystar he's not a world beater but who is better and more reliable in his multiple positions right now.

McCausland nope
Curtis nope
Bajrami nope
Lawrence nope
Cortes nope
Danilo nope
Rice nope
Barron nope
Cifuentes nope
Dowell nope
Matondo nope
Dio spfl nope, europe yes
And cerny away

Kind of easy argument to make for him to stay is it not?

You don't get squad stronger by letting go better players before weaker players or before your 100% guys coming in are better than what's there.

18.) 13 Apr 2025 18:32:08
So Dio with same number of goal involvements as Hagi, better tackle percentage, slightly less chances created but more of those big chances so I would say he is better and equally if not more reliable. also will make us some money in future which Hagi won't as he is OOC. we need better as back up for him IMO. and if Dio is rubbish the stats on Hagi back that opinion.

19.) 14 Apr 2025 10:41:40
Angus let's assume your right.

Now make the case for the other 12 players on my list

Are people missing my pount hear its about building a better squad to compete and surely pay hagi a wage which requires no transfer fee is going to be easier than going into thearket to replace him unless anyone wants to tell me the bosman player that will come to scotland on low wages for a free

Any takers?

08 Mar 2025 20:17:44
Storm I can't be bothered scrolling to find your post and reply there since it's pages doon by now lol

Regarding SG, you asked how I thought he was successful. Came in when we were nowhere near Celtic and they dominated us all the time and won everything while also taking over a poor squad. Turned us round and won the league unbeaten (stopping 10IAR) while consistently getting us into knockouts of Europe. Let's not forget this man didn't walk into a Rangers of old that was dominating everyone.

Now did he screw us - Yes
Would I have him back - Hell no but I appreciate what he did while he was here and wish him all the best in whatever job he gets next just not at our club.

bigbluejim

1.) 08 mar 2025 21:11:02
and lost two semi finals v st mirren and st johnston to win a treble

never got close to winning any oth the other competions, ( 9)

won in a season with no fans, which changed the entire landscape

and in a season when its widely accepted, Celtic simply stopped playing fir lennon

never won any other comp he competed in, m only when Celtic chucked it

sometimes the truth hurts.

2.) 08 Mar 2025 21:51:21
I will always be grateful for him winning 55 but he was 100% a failure 1 in 9 is not successful in anyway in a 2 horse race. No one can change my mind ever on that mate. We will just have to agree to disagree on this one ?.

3.) 08 Mar 2025 22:05:12
Think I would say on the whole SG was successful, he was brought in to stop the 10, he did that, and we made good profit on players within that. GVB inhereted SGs team which also got to a EL final. I would say SGs tenure was a success although could of ended better.

4.) 08 Mar 2025 23:19:51
I think you also have to measure success beyond on the pitch.

1 out of 9 reads bad, but if the foundations had been laid for the club to then deliver 4 or 5 of the next 9 it changes the narrative.

Unfortunately though, it was 1 out of 9 and we were left in a bit of a shambles.

5.) 08 Mar 2025 23:44:48
I'm somewhere in between with SG. Brilliant again in Europe. Won the league yes partly because of Celtic collapse but we were still excellent. But also should have done better in cups and feel he had a lot of the responsibility of financial mess by keeping players who ending up leaving for nothing. Not entirely his fault but he did have a big say in it and was unsustainable and he wasn't happy when had to cut back. So thanks but let's not go back.

6.) 08 mar 2025 23:51:49
tj, how on earth, on the whole is it possible to be successful winning one in nine?

what good profit?
and how could gio have " inherited " sg team if sg made good profits?

what good profits, sg lost almost every tournament he was in, he won when Celtic chucked it, that's factual, they simply stopped playing for lennon and nobody in that season was interested in anything but survival, i have no qualms admitting that.

7.) 09 Mar 2025 07:33:40
I have to agree with TT he is spot on about SG.

Also if you say look beyond the trophy count then he is one of the reason we are in this mess just now as we had paid out overinflated wages to players that were failures also.

8.) 09 Mar 2025 10:02:02
Gerrard would of walked the league if he stayed, one half of football against a ten man Malmo changed that, no champ league and no extra cash to buy the player he wanted, remember he started from scratch a big difference to anyone coming in now.

9.) 09 Mar 2025 10:58:56
TBH, i liked Gerrard and obviously loved the fact he stopped the 10 IAR, but financially we couldn't have kept going on paying the wages we gave to players under his management.

10.) 09 Mar 2025 11:56:55
SG divides opinion but I don't base it on Rangers I base it on since he left Rangers which has been far from convincing. Lampard when you look into his career as manager there is a bit of substance there. I'd rather Lampard over Gerrard. It doesn't always work look at Rodgers he got Leicester relegated but is the Messiah in media in Scotland. All manager appointments are a gamble.

11.) 09 Mar 2025 11:57:23
No worries Storm, I respect all your opinions about him. I was just curious to see what people classed as successful is all.

Certainly don't want him back!

12.) 09 Mar 2025 12:01:05
Coopersdad that is just your opinion we don't know if he would or wouldn't have. Celtic went on an unbeaten run and we more than likely wouldn't have won the league but the fact remains he didn't stay he thought he was a better manager than he was and his career in management has went on a downward spiral since he left us.

13.) 09 Mar 2025 12:28:28
Gerard failed when you look back at the trophy count, yes, but he stopped them from winning ten in a row and had the measure of Lennons side. I don't agree that they chucked it. let's at least give a bit of credit when its due. No fans, covid etc. all the teams played under the same, albeit, unusual circumstances.
Btw, just for the record, I don't want Gerard back.

14.) 09 Mar 2025 13:24:41
TT, how can you say he never got close to winning any other trophy . What about the League Cup when we played Celtic off the pitch, Morelos missed a penalty and lost to an offside goal? Does that not count as close?

15.) 09 Mar 2025 15:02:27
Oh and for the sake of accuracy we lost those games in the Quarter Finals of both cups not the semis. Everybody at the time said who cares let's concentrate on winning the title that's the one we really need . Well he did that .

16.) 09 mar 2025 15:35:49
aye ok, whatever makes you feel better i suppose, would he last 9 tournaments now .

17.) 09 Mar 2025 18:35:14
Sometimes when Managers return to their old clubs, they do even better than before. You only have to look at Walter Smith. Gerard wasn't perfect and as a number of people have said, he was paying inflated wages that the club could ill-afford, but these are lessons learned.

Our squad needs reducing in size probably but needs increasing in quality and all you need to back that statement up is look at our bench all year and how poor it's been.

He is not even manager of the top team in that division Angus and with a lower budget than the other two so that 60% win rate is pretty good. Now imagine the guy moved to a top team with a top budget to match and he would have more than 60%. There is a reason tho that he hasn't moved even when offered top jobs so far.

Geesa you're entitled to your opinion and I feel he has cost us in BIG games due to his poor decision making or general greed and hanging onto the ball too long, that's my opinion.

BlueFloyd as I have stated many times I think he is a decent player but that it's also easy to stand out in what is a poor team. He goes missing in many games and leaves Tav exposed many times, I think we can do better!

To be honest, I can see why Wolfsburg signed him, shines in a lesser league but goes missing too often in the bigger games, so they shipped him out. Be surprised if he get's a top 5 league move, maybe a lesser team in one of them but not a club of our size. Thanks but goodbye Vaclav.
