Don't shoot the messenger here guys as i'm only sharing with yous, what i've just been told ?I guy i know in the football circle who's very friendly with neil mccann's agent has just told me that kevin muscat is getting the rangers manager's job and neil mccann is part of his backroom team ?The coach who told me this then stuck 40quid on muscat to become our new manager at 6/ 1 yesterday afternoon ?Time will tell but according to mccann's agent muscat and mccann will be part of our new management team, time will tell ?.

I’m swaying more towards Muscat tbh. There’s clearly gems in the J-League and if we can get a couple of them then it could make the difference. He’s also known for playing very attacking football which domestically should blow teams away. I want a manager who doesn’t give a F who they’re playing domestically the game plan is to go and batter them.

I know Neil McCann has a lot of critics but I find him informative, has good football knowledge and he certainly isn’t afraid to speak his mind.

I always thought Gio or MB could have done with someone who knows rangers and scottish football on their back room team.

I’d be over the moon if Neil McCann was part of any managers back room team.
Could listen to him talk football and tactics all day.
Very knowledgeable person.
And apparently a very good coach with the highest of standards, that’s why he didn’t get on with a lot of his Dundee players, he expected too much from their limited ability.

I actually think, and with no source or evidence as back up, that muscat is going to get the job.

I think if was clement it would be done by now.

Yokahoma play 2nd leg match of yesterdays game on Sunday and I expect muscat to fly in on Monday to be announced.

That’s my hunch mate.

If its Muscat then so be it, he wouldn`t be my choice certainly not if the main reason is because of " gems in the Far East market". Surely any manager we pick could appoint a scout for that area and find these gems without us needing to pick a manager to do it. Would be quite happy with McCann or indeed Kevin Thomson involved as their analysis on the games always seem quite insightful to me compared to the other idiots who just want to be heard and get their names in the papers.

John a TV pundit who knows rangers team very very well and a former team mate that muscat trusts. McCann was also a manager at Dundee so to just say TV pundit is a bit disrespectful

He's also a uefa licensed coach something muscat might not have coming from Japan so could be doing us a favour.

A football coach using insider information to place bets for financial gain would almost certainly attract a fine/ ban. I don't see the issue with highlighting that tbh. Surely if you post content any part of that content is up for discussion and all the original posters must accept that and shouldn't try to regulate a thread. Easier said than done I know, posted many a time predicting a response and got the opposite, I accept that sometimes I'm in the minority or just wrong.

Thanks for the info Coops. I originally wanted Hasenhutl and then Glasner. Of the 2 front runners, I’d have preferred Clement. However, even though it’s my 4th choice, I’d be very happy with Muscat and McCann as a team and if they could find a place for Alex Rae too, then so much the better.

John 227, Isn`t Alex Rae a TV pundit and we have given him a job recently? Thomson and McCann are both ex managers and certified coaches who both also have more experience of Rangers and Scottish football than Rae, and Muscat for that matter . Having one of them as part of the coaching team might help a new manager coming into Scottish football.
