would losing the league partially due to not having a capable and ruthless striker be worth waiting until the summer? or for that matter the other 2 cups we are still competing for. If we did finish second I can just see this forum lighting up with "we should have bought Shankland or whoever". Nature of the beast I guess. But i think we all agree on here about one very Important point and that is that "Dessers" absolutely fails to deceive in the job that he does for our club. thoughts on all of the above are welcome of-course.

If wee signed shankland I wouldn't be upset but I just don't like the idea of being held to ransom by hearts and rightly so for them they want they highest price as it will be hard to replace his goals easily, for me I believe better quality is out there but the tried an tested in the league is the big pull I believe for fans, but will shankland be first pick come start of next season? I find it very unlikely if he signed he would lead the line I think Clement will have someone a lot higher calibre on his wish list, and I mean no disrespect to shankland by that.

Not quite sure what your asking but guessing your saying, don't sign a striker, sacrifice the league, the Scottish cup and the Europa then sign Shankland or a another target in the Summer. No, a club like Rangers with our current management and resources should be able to find a suitable striker capable of scoring in the SPL.

I reckon we will most definitely sign another striker by the end of the window. Whether that’s Shankland or not I guess we will need to just wait and see. I do trust PC though and I believe if we get a couple of quality signings in we will win the league and Scottish cup.

Regardless of what people think of shankland or van veen or miovski.

You should always take the best player u can possibly in afford unless u see better for less money.

One of these 3 should be brought in if we can’t find any oversea targets.

They’re all better than what we have atm.

I would agree that Dessers isn`t the answer, even now that he is match sharp, he still takes too long in getting his shots away and lacks conviction in his finishing . He does sometimes create good chances for others but we need our main striker to be a goal scorer . Personally I`m not convinced about Shankland especially at the price Hearts would want but after watching the last OF game and the chances we wasted to win it, we definitely need someone in, even if it is Shankland.

Not going to say the buzz word but its plain to see we need a striker, I believe we are probably looking at younger options that suit our player model, trouble is that player might not be available to the summer.

Dessers is not the answer. I and many Bears gave himself and Lammers a chance but both are not what we all hoped. One thing is for sure Rangers are not paying 4-5 million for Shankland so he isn't coming in January. He is worth 1.5-2 million and would be worth a punt at that and i think he would score some goals, as many as others think i am not so sure remembering teams do not defend with 11 men behind the ball against Hearts with a low block so would he get the same space. Think we need a Winger, Creative midfielder as well as a Goal scorer to challenge for the league.

I was talking to the father of my friend inside the dressing room yesterday at my boys football and he told me that he had been talking to him while they were in spain, his son had said shankland wasn't that highly regarded by clement and that it'd be unlikely to be him we sign in January, he also said money was tight this month (no surprise there) and that it might need a sale before we buy anyone.
