Said I wasn't going post but I need too say I'm absolutely disgusted with the transfer fee our incompetent board has managed to get for Joe Aribo. 6 million plus adds is absolutely pathetic. Have a think about this; the same club bought Stuart Armstrong for 7 million in 2019. Some will say he's only got 11 months left in his contract bit again that's the incompetence of our board to allow 3 of our best players to run contracts down like this.

Welcome Bach sweep,
Great business for guy with 11 months left.

I completely disagree John25; we have showed our hand now in regards to our finances now. We should be getting 10 million for Joe Aribo even with 11 months left. Ajer went to Brentford for 13 million and he couldn't lace Joe's boots. Completely sold ourselves short.

Classic sweep :)
The reported £6m + adds is a good fee for someone with 12 months left and not signing a new deal.
If Aribo doesn’t want to sign a new contract there’s nothing the board can do about it.

Classic Sweep? Because my opinion is different from you? Just because you think it's a good doesn't mean all fans do. 6 million is a joke of a price.

6m upfront and could be 10m and a big sell on fee, i think Aribo will do amazing down there, then get sold for millions in a year or two, we could make a really massive profit on Aribo.

6.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 10:23:46
Well they should've sold him last summer or in Jan to maximise theee value and to have 3 of our best players in the same boat is a dereliction of duty. if morelos or Kent don't sign new deals well be lucky to get close to there value.

7.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 10:27:12
Should've got 10 million upfront; add ons don't always work. Look at Patterson.

8.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 10:29:08
Board have now shown other clubs that Kent and Morelos are there too be taken on the cheap now as well. What a shambles.

07 Jul 2022 10:48:22
Haha is this the same board and transfer team that got a record fee for Patterson? Our 2nd choice right back? Assembled a squad that got us to the final or the Europa League? Got the club operating with a profit, upgraded the stadium, have invested heavily in youth and improved our scouting network.

They can't force people to sign contracts. However they got Lowry, Goldson and Kamara to extend their deals - all assets in demand. Although I'm sure you'll find fault with it. that's your MO right.

Breath of fresh air sweep. You are spot on!

Its a good deal for the club getting £6million for joe aribo plus add ons which take it to the break clause of £10million, plus a 15%-20% future sell on clause, for a guy who turned down a new deal and is in the final year of his contract ?Sorry forgot to mention we got him for 300k?

12.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 10:56:17
Ajer went for a higher fee because his contract was worth more than Aribos, Aribo was on nowhere near the amount of Ajer hence why he went for more, yeah would've been good to get a little more maybe 8m and add ons but imo he's got a ready made replacement in Alex Lowry.

13.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 10:59:04
If we tried to sell Aribo, Morelos, and Kent last January, the punters would have said no ambition from the board are we a football club or a bank, would we rather let Joe go for nothing or take 6million with add ons imagine no Europa final, we did the right thing hoping to win the final unfortunately it didn't work out, we all can be clever in hindsight our board are no different .

Sweep Aribo was offered new contract, and never signed it, board done nothig wrong here.

16.) 07 Jul 2022

All about opinions sweep, great business for a guy who was never signing new deal and could have signed pre contract in January.

17.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 11:05:56
Walter sell on is 30%.

Also Southampton to pay first two add ons already.
Ie 5% to previous clubs
5% to aribo.

Nice too see the poo and rocket signs appearing again when people have different opinions but keep them coming as I'm here to stay whatever. It is all about opinions John25 and your definitely one I listen to on here.

19.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 11:14:11
Tedbayer we could've sold Aribo in January and bought the required CB and CF that would've win us the league with a bit to spare.

20.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 11:19:44
If there is a limited number of clubs interested in a player the selling club is between a rock and a hard place. Do they hold out and get nothing, do they wait till near the end of a transfer which would effect their plans or do they sell and make a huge profit with what’s on the table? The price of the player is only commanded by the interest of other clubs. Sad to see Aribo go but wouldn’t sign a new contract. Going for the experience and the money in EPL, certainly won’t get a bigger club than Rangers!

21.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 11:28:56
Sweep and I always listen to yours and respect your views, we don’t always agree but nothing wrong with that.

22.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 12:35:03
I for one agree with sweep. If the release clause is £10M then take the total amount now. And learn from this and never have such a low release clause on any player again.

23.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 13:27:45
Zikos the release clause did not say ten million, it said x with payments for appearance up to 100.

24.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 13:42:17
John, what’s Joe Aribos current release clause if it’s not £10M? We lease let us know because for weeks all we’ve heard is it’s £10M.

25.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 15:21:32
I don’t know exactly, so won’t speculate. It’s based on appearance pavements not starts, with payments 25, 50, 100.

26.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 16:04:44
It’s just shows your lack of knowledge when you compare aribo and ajer completely different positions and players. Nothing to do with opinions when you are comparing these two guys. Brentford willing to pay a set amount and Southampton willing to pay a set amount what can’t you understand Also I don’t believe Brentford paid that for him either. Would you rather aribo goes for nothing?

27.) 07 Jul 2022
07 Jul 2022 16:51:16
Storm different figures stated by them and Brentford.
